Uh, i have been offlined wiped plenty of times. And restart with new character, i have that down to an art form. So generalize all you want. Every argunent against a wipe you use are actually things that happen and will happen regardless of wipes. Hacking exploiting are constants no matter what. But wipes can mitigate it better than current BV offline version we have now.
I donāt think FC are too keen on the idea of wipes for PVP since the failure of PVP āBlitzā servers. Those were 30 day wipe servers offered either at early access or launch, I donāt fully remember. I donāt believe they ever even made it to console launch. They were by all accounts a failure, being incapable of keeping a population and were subsequently converted to regular servers.
I can think of times where we had āsoft wipesā, specifically I recall a time where all orbs were deleted from our inventory as a result of a bug, I think.
All that to say I agree that wipes would help purge some of the sins of poor management. However, it wouldnāt solve the core issue - namely that PVP is not, and for a long time hasnāt been a point of pride for development. There was a time that it arguably was. Given that belief, I think wipes at best would be a band-aid and at worst not even a consideration.

You are literally asking for a reprieve of a few hours before it goes back to normal. Except you wonāt be max level and now have hackers in your favorite spots, camping you south of the noob river.
You can get the same experience you are asking for by recreating character. So do that. No need to drag everyone else with.
Iād agree that server wipes have to take place at some point. Especially from a performance point of view. I would suggest they either do it with each age released ( 9 monthās -ish?) or after every other age. I have to say, siptah looks worse today than it did just a year ago. Iām not sure why this is, but it seems like the quality of textures and details have been reduced to provide better server performance.
Your statement about the defense system in Conan Exiles is quite humorous. Itās clear that the current system canāt handle 24/7 raid hours. Now, even if youāre online, itās challenging to defend your base. Thereās no reliable protection, as they can easily exploit vulnerabilities, and everything gets wiped after just one GOD successful attack. Itās amusing to see your fantasy world. It would be better to focus on improving the PvP server instead of constantly asking for changes. People like you have contributed to the deteriorating state of the game due to the constant demand for modifications.
So wait. You have to pvp to defend. It just proves my point, most official pvpers are actualky pve-ers who prefer offline raid to boost thier ego.
I have been part of an alpha. I have spent 4 continous months logging in to babysit agianst offline. The most fun was when someone actually raided and i got to pvp. You know the tyoe of server i play on.
People are hiding behind alt bvs, 17 hour no raid windows to mass farm, offlining against subpar AI thralls, and LoR Gollum like love for thier virtual loot of chests.
PvP should be engaging and risky when i am on. Not babysit 5 hours a day, then take a day off to return to wiped base.
That might actually be fun though.
Oh no I have an ADHD approach to the game and get bored very quickly once established. I maintain it for about a month too long if truth be told but by that time I started on a new serverā¦maybe 3. There are only 3 servers that I havenāt abandoned. 1 PVE but I have a clan so they are active as well. 1 PVP my old storage shed that remains hidden with the loot Iāve compiled during the 2019-2022 era of PVP and server transfers to consolidate and 1 PVE-C because I just havenāt had the chance to play well with it. Itās touchy to get into. T
the rest of online content comes and goes. Sometimes i have the body vault, sometimes I donāt. Regardless, its actually quite boring starting fully leveled. I donāt learn anything new unless I start again and then something pops up or I see a better way.
I canāt argue there but a 365 day wipe is significantly different than a 30 day. Itās like comparing 24/7 raid time to the 5 hour window we have now. Itās just not a fair comparison.
I still stick to my alternative solution in that you have to play a minimum of 1 hour a week for the decay timer to reset. Add characters can decay to it and it would be a great thing because the servers are just messy anymore. Especially PVE servers.
Agreed, 30 day wipe and 365 day wipe are apples and elephants . Iām just speculating as to why server wipes on PVP have been so resisted by FC over the years.
Funcomās word on previously scheduled wiping servers:
Yearly wipe servers would be different. But would also be dead for the the last quarter. So youād only really get a 6-9 month window to play before everything dries up and they become even greater ghost towns.
One way to make it work is to just have 2 servers per region per platform. Then youād see full servers for nearly the entire time.
Spreading out a few hundred players over as many servers with wipes would effectively kill off the already struggling population. Even more than the cheats have.

I do understand the rivalry this game has in the pvp aspect, but when we speak about game issues we should respect each other. Welcome to the forum.
The game had blitz servers, they got closed because nobody was playing on them.
You can ask the return of blitz servers if you wish, without trying to wreck others with āotherā means. Pvp has already report meta and other problems far more serious that needs solving if you ask me. Other than that they stated more than once that they are not thinking of wipes and they will never do.
So forget wipes, it aināt going to happen, but blitz servers maybe. Ask politely and you never know pall, here dreams come true sometimes.

I think we can acknowledge and address multiple issues. Thereās always room for improvement and some of the suggestions above such as a different type of server, stopping BVs and having to remain in game for more than a few minutes do address some of the problems.
Things change, maybe blitz servers would be good again.
I love the idea of being able to remain on a server, gives an opportunity for social and cultural development within those macrocosms. But, thereās just way too many problems to ignore it any longer.
Ark: Survival Ascended is being released within 20 mins, apparently they have solved the undermeshing issue in that game. How wonderful!
Is ok eh I know all you chicken noobs want offline raid because u canāt do online raid. An And want 24/7 open raid so u can weak up in Morring and wipe ppl u canāt. Online is raid Lols.
WHO is pve , lol? Iām a hardcore PvP player. My point is that everyone is skilled at offline raiding. Funcomās defense system is lacking. Everyone waits for you to go offline to wipe out 90% of my 10,000 hours of playtime. It has always been people raiding you while youāre offline. I donāt want to babysit a base 24/7; we need offline protection. Iād rather have the old system where you can go offline and activate a bubble, and the only way to raid you offline was to use 5-6 gods to break the bubble and the base. Nowadays, you go offline because you donāt want to babysit a base for 6 hours every day and get raided by a noob who flies a bat to the top of your base, bypassing all anti-climb systems or even frost bridges. Itās too skewed in favor of the attackers; these changes have made PvP so difficult. Thereās nothing you can defend with on the current defense system. If you think Iām wrong, I can come wipe you in less than 10 minutes. Todayās defense system is bad. You can summon a god after these changes, and with 6 shots, the whole base is wiped, even one shot can take out a bed and players inside the base. Donāt tell me how to play this game; Iāve invested more in this game than all of you combined. Iāve been playing this since the alpha, but I stopped due to these frustrating changes.
Then spin up a server and wipe it once a year.
This entitlement that everyone must pay for your poor game experience is an interesting self-own.
Everyone on Official PVP is affected by these problems.

Its not just pvp. I would argue that PVE has more issues with no wipe policy than PVP because of the lack of function to do anything about it.
Considering how often this topic comes up, I think Funcom should implement a new server with annual wipe rules.

While I can only speak on my experiences as a PVPer, my clan, extended acquaintances in the community and things Iāve read here and on other social mediaā¦
One of the biggest reasons why many PVPers, (actual ones, not PVEers who want to refresh their bases, keep all their pixels and not actually PVP, defend and raid), donāt play on Officials are that the servers donāt wipe.
Although it does include all the other reasons too:
- Cheaters/hackers
- Exploiters
- x4 gather rate
- Recent dupes
- Long standing bugs
- Offlining
- Report meta
- Mass reporting
- Server alliances
- Balance problems
But a lot of these issues are addressed or mitigated by wipes, so why it is wanted.
So I would play on Officials that wipe and take my clan with me.
You need to do some research, i have been on the dbd band wagon to remove offline raid meta since it almost was released. You know, actual online raiding. Online raid, 24/7 raid window has been my stump for quite a while. Rage on another person, my keyboard warrior friend.
