The pvp siege system should be totally overhauled.
It is currently the worst ever seen in a video game.

A dev for this game is on record saying “No consideration to PvP was paid in the development of Conan Exiles.” This clarified things for me immensely.
Big surprise there. Conan Exiles Fashion Show and CE Reality Rustic and Medieval Home Open House appointments available upon request.
And it shows in both implementation of new content and in the updates afterwards which leads to dissatisfaction of all (players, Official server moderators, development, CSR’s, etc).
The only ones that are happy are the ones that aren’t vested in the game at all and only play to satisfy a debasement nihilistic urge.
This seems about right. It was basically tagged on to sell more games, because pvp games have large player bases who will buy and at least test it out. Once they had those bius, it was a win for FC.
Change the recipe of Dragonpowder.
Make it require real human blood harvested from real players.
(Or NPC blood, but you need 50x of it that’s equivalent to 1x player blood.)
So that Raiding requires PVP in the first place.
I like that idea
Exactly. The defender side has everything taken away from them while attackers keep on getting improvements. One good example is the absolutely ridiculous bomb snapping to surfaces. Before you had to carefully place the jar so it wouldn’t tip over and you could build your bases in the way that it was very difficult to use explosives. But no, it had to be taken away. Just snap the jars to ramps or whatnot and booom goes the base.
The only way to “defend” is simply to hide your stuff and keep your visible chests open in the base so the raiders might not destroy the base completely. It’s complete nonsense. My friend tried Conan for the first time some months back and he was amazed how poor the defense side of the game is, needless to say he hasn’t been interested in this game very much.
It works. Players that farm for taxes like it, and they won’t blow up your base.
There usually isn’t. Ive lived in my current server (official pvp) now for more than a year, and I would say actual person vs person fighting is less than 5% of the pvp. We all just raid bases of new players before they get enough materials (dragon powder and gods since there is nothing else to it) to raid us.
While I dont think the god bubbles were terribly useful, they were something. I am not huge fan of making attacking easier still. It needs to be made harder, so that the raider has to spend longer period of time breaking into a base. A whole evening instead of half an hour. I really REALLY hope devs will go the way of my suggestion, which is to nerf explosives into oblivion and instead focus on trebuchets, battering rams, and similar equipment.
Imagine if instead of pulling out 100s of explo jars in a few seconds from our pocket, we would have to use slow-moving battering ram NPCs to break down base doors. Probably need siege equipment like ladders and siege towers to attack bases in inconvenient locations… The reason why I want it to become slower is because then we have a chance to counter attack when we are online and prevent the base from exploding…
My thoughts exactly. Either nerf the bombs (less explosive power, harder to place, and/or harder to get) or get rid of them all together and refine the siege warfare equipment.
This idea that now everyone can easily farm vast amounts of the equivalent of TNT is crazy dumb — game is way out of balance.
Do the devs actually play on official servers?
Yeah that works until you run into someone who has ESP and can see all your chests (including hidden).
That is defined as not working.
Yep.
Also, players simply need to get over the idea that a castle (base) regardless of size or tier (like it matters) of materials being able to be fully raided in one raid session. It is called a siege for a reason. At this point they need to rename raid window to raid village for all that can be done in this “window” amount of time. Unbelievable, ridiculous, and of course broken as H.
They cut down base sizes in the TOS, fine. Now the next obvious step for raid balance would and should have been to adjust bases to be able to defend at least the same amount of damage with less size. It almost like they wanted to make bases made of egg shells.
Ouch.
We’ll that’s just crazy considering the single-player content is so very lacking in actual content.
I think FC needs to realize that they’ve basically done the impossible so to speak. They have accidentally managed to appeal to a group of people who just don’t go for the normal marketing strategies. I don’t even know how to explain what I’m trying to say properly. We aare different, so rather than trying to go with everyone else’s textbook strategies for coin grabbing they need to be different too and understand that we might pay 10$ for a set of armor that we could only use on 1 account, but we probably pay 20$ if we could use it accross 4 accounts See what I’m saying? They’re selling air anyways but they could doubled their profit on that air.
no they don’t clearly, with chapter 2 of aow you will be able to buy bomb to merchand for 5 gold coin, and demon fire, and explosive arrow in actual state of chapter 2. this is in fact the reward of a purge level 10 that is a piece of cake to manage even if solo, a merchand that sell you all that.
so state of game will be even worse, no god bubble, infinite and easy ways to farm npc for doing gods with purge, no more need to farm for bomb, just farm gold and easy bomb to buy. it is a slow and very painfull death of conan, and i still wonder why…
That’s a pretty tidy idea. I myself maintain another ID which I bought during the Exploit Hunter days. It would be very useful to have that ID for server play, with the same DLCs as my Main. Give that guy a break.
My experience goes to April 4 of 2017, and back then we had no-ping servers. I played with some Brazilians, Australians, Canadians, Americans, two Brits and a Dutchman who might’ve been South African. During that time, we had no Raid. Thralls were laser beams in rude clothes. You’d be dead before you could pull your crossbow.
Old thralls + no Raid = No Easy Recon. Believe me, when you don’t know what crazy stuff someone has going on in their build, you’re less likely to raid them. Raids were few, and costly. /Pepperidge Moment
Yep raids should be few and costly (but rewarding when accomplished). Right now, raids are common (offline), easy, and cheap. Boring and frustrating…
I’ll ask it again: Do the Devs actually play on official servers?
I suspect the Devs don’t really play the game on official PVP servers. Doesn’t take too much time of game play to see the current balance issues.
Feels like they are making decisions in a vacuum (i.e. coming up with their personal ideas of what sounds “cool”) without really understanding what it will do to game balance.
As a friend of mine (who no longer plays Conan due to getting frustrated with offlines, bombs, etc) told me, this game could be great with just some simple and easy balance changes. Granted different folks have different ideas of how the game should be played so give us some additional server types.
Don’t know. They used to. Next time tag me and I’ll answer you directly.
The question I have for you is what difference would it make?
Good question. To me if time was spent on the servers, some of the current balance issues would be easy to see. I personally know ~30 folks who mostly quit due to the current state. Granted 30 is a drop in the bucket but it is 90+% of the folks I’ve played with.
