Are you some kind of video game customer service AI?
Someone thinks that feeding forum discussions into ChatGPT and posting results is funny. Itâs not. Itâs spam and should be flagged as such.
The battle pass is veey meh. And i feel the OP really meant was that so kuch man power is being used to create this meh stuff that it seems as though anything exciting is not to be expected. Basically dev time making meh stuff is dev time not creating the exciting content. Thaybis howni see it. They cteate eventsâŠsorry enciubters that give nothing new recioe or loot wise. Just a different way to accomplish the same rigamaro. I can relate to that feeling tbh.
Yep its base , being people who play regardless of updates, is right around that mark
Because people who donât want to do the BP, or care the slightest about it, would have the option of not getting pop ups about challenges they donât mean to do. They could totally ignore the whole thing.
As a person who does have OCD, I genuinely do understand now @Anglinex. And if you searah that acronym on the forum search engine, I would wager you will see users such as myself, Dovah and dissociativeME, lamenting the interactions between this and the game. The best I can possibly offer you is that you need to mentally defeat this line of thinking using your own rationale. Not sure if it will help, but here is the one I use below in the form of an analogy.
I like to think of the battle pass and its notifications as being a bit like two-way (CB) radio in a trucks cabin. It is always there, often chatting away, and there is always something going on or unfolding. BUT if you allow it to deviate you and pull you away from your intended destination or goals, every time you go to deliver a shipment, it is a recipe for disaster! The battle pass is just background chatter, not your boss. Sure there may be a time and a place for an occasional unscheduled adventure off the beaten track, but if you allow it to serve as your navigator, there is bound to be problems.
I hope this helps you to shut it up. But if you find that you are still unable to do your work with it on in the background, then take your 1500 Crom Coins and spend them on anything you like on the Bazaar, so that you can not buy up the next battle pass, and remove that unhealthy influence from your life. ie- toss the infernal buzzard of a two-way out the window of your truck and leave it smashed on the highway.
Most of the work is the art tho and not by the people who are adding new mechanics and systems. The battlepass and bazaar will be funding all of it, so that extra revenue will lead to more improvements and additions to the game. Right now we have encounters, Dennis mentioned possible new dungeons. Iâm sure thereâs much more. I get that the battlepass and bazaar donât add much for some (particularly pvp) but I imagine one time game sales donât add up close to the revenue of continued dlc/battlepass/bazaar sales.
Incorrect.
I did. Didnât know it had a name but it was great place to grind bandages, gold ,and legendary weapons.
Yes!
Or just play the game - without doing anything with the BattlePass sequences. Like players that have not ever bothered following all the way through with the âRemove Braceletâ sequence to end the game.
No, âBattlePass has not killed the gameâ, but it certainly added a new element that allows those that want to experience what modded servers added to the game - a form of variation and randomness.
If I do not like the new icecream on offer, no-one forces me to eat/buy it. ![]()
I think that they could mix and work if they were implemented into the game better. I think that the two options below would work and allow players to play how they want to.
- Link battle pass progress to game XP
- Link battle pass progress to time played
I think that either of these options would help keep players active and would help reduce the repetitive chore that it some times becomes.
And yes battle pass could eventually kill the game. If servers are struggling now imagine how they will handle more and more different items.
The battle passes are pointless to pvp players as it is so easy to be banned. Then you are no longer able to use battle pass or bazaar purchased items which them creates a problem with anything that you have built with these items.
You can do the pass in the last 2 weeks, because bonus xp stacks.
Because Mitra forbid that you â and the rest of the small but vocal minority whining here â should have to suffer the terrible indignity of actually doing something different for a change.
Look, pretty much the whole point of the Battle Pass is to give players a new way of playing the game and an incentive to come back at least couple of times a week. Now that they fixed the bug and we get multipliers every day, the Battle Pass is really easy to complete.
If you canât handle it, donât pay for it. But donât ask Funcom to ruin the fun for everyone else by removing a new source of variety.
From what Iâve seen on these forums, maybe 1 in 20 posts about performance will get something right. You are one of the other 19 who have no idea what theyâre talking about, but that doesnât stop them from spouting nonsense with extreme confidence.
I think its very apparent that the Battlepass isnât going to hurt the game. Anyone who states that it will is using hyperbole and they know it. Its time to move on from that.
However⊠the challenges portion has some potential to address some issues the game has.
In the past people have suggested an upkeep system for large builds and serial refreshers on servers with Decay. The biggest problem Iâve always had with an upkeep system is it will invariably be some sort of offshoot of the repair system. Where you use the materials to make the structure to upkeep it. I mean it makes sense, youâre not going to require Alchemical Base, Lotus, or Fragments of Power for upkeep. Thatâs just going to make people upset. And letâs be honest, its strains the hell out of immersion.
I propose a simpler solution. Instead of decay being reset by simply logging in and touching the structure in question. The decay timer is pushed back by performing challenges. Each region (bases that do not share timers) will need its own set of challenges to upkeep. It wouldnât take much, maybe 2-3 challenges per week per region. This way if youâve got 5 bases scattered around the world. Well youâve got a bit of work to do. If you build a bit more conservatively in one area, then its quite a bit easier. Anyone in a clan can contribute to clan buildings as a whole.
What I like about this is it gives the challenges a use after youâve hit 60 on your Battle Pass. There could be other benefits as well such as gaining character or follower exp. This way servers without decay and singleplayers can benefit as well.
Making the challenges actually function within gameplay rather than being slightly outside of it and only affecting something in the paid âdlcâ side of things might make them a bit more palatable for many. I donât believe people necessarily have an issue with the Battle Pass itself. It sits in a tab and is only visible when you want it to be.
Challenges pop up as some have indicated even if you arenât seeking to participate. Well it might be better if the Battle Pass completion was the icing on the cake of completing challenges and challenges had a bit more meat and reason within the game itself.
Challenges have a bit of potential that can be utilized here.
You forgot to say âon official serversâ⊠getting banned from official servers because you didnât follow the rules does not strip your account of DLC or battle pass recipes⊠youâll still have them when you go and play on a private server or single player.
Not saying BP killed the game, but saying it added to play a variety is kind of false.
Iâm not the only one that likes the BP and the new BLB, at least now weâre getting new content more frequently
Although the quality should be a little higher considering its price, I still have hopes.
But dead? Hell no never, the server Iâm on has a lot more frequent and healthier player base.
âVarietyâ doesnât necessarily mean ânew contentâ.
The BP introduced variety by giving players an equivalent of mini quests to do if they want to. Not every player will want to or like it, but they have a choice of ignoring them and doing things their own way.
Every reroll Iâd check that sweet little Petra because of the emote, and when it was glitched boy howdy that was unfun. Then Iâm seeking Infused Bandages and someone says Kingâs Niche? Yes please! (Still wouldnât have known the bossâs name!)
TBH it makes me swear a little bit when I see a BP thing complete, and all Iâm doing is looking for magic underpants or some such internal quest. Nothing wrecks the mood like a needless administrative announcement:
"We interrupt this coitus to bring you a message about Skyn Condoms - feels like nothin at all, nothin at all!"
Yeah, they should give us an option to turn it off.
Most pvp players avoid private servers most of the time and pvp in single player doesnât really work.
