Cataract Toilet Water MUST Stop

The one thing about this game that beats all other games is it’s beauty. It has incredible art, building sets, etc. Why do you guys keep messing that up with Toilet Water?

Since you officially released Age Sorcery, the night time is no longer dark, it’s dank toilet water. Using a torch at night is pointless, because it seems to like… reflect off the toilet water and create cataract vision. I can’t stand it. It’s the same in the storms now. During the storms its no longer dark, and I could’ve been okay with an overcast look during a storm during the day, but its not its cataract toilet water.

Why do you keep messing with the lighting like this??? Please restore it to what it was before this expac. Otherwise it’s like playing with a permanent visual impairment, no one wants that in a game. Why do you keep messing with stuff that isn’t broken when you have thousands of other things that really do need attention, like fat/thin options which the mods pull of flawlesslessly despite dozens of different armor types. Pay whoever made that option in the mod to add it to the official game. Do that. Don’t keep messing with perfect lighting to bring back cataract toilet water!!!

In this thread, you have said “toilet water” six times and I still have no idea what it means. There is no toilets in the exiled lands, and if there was I’m not sure what’s with the infatuation with them

Then you have no creativity to understand what I mean when I say cataract toilet water. The air looks thick/heavy, not clear, like you are looking at dirty water or have cataracts. You know exactly what I mean, you are being obstinate and combative just for the sake of it because you feel big behind your keyboard.

…what?

The water in my toilet is clear. Maybe if you showed a picture of what you are seeing it would clear it up for Jimbo.

Extremely powerful username/post combo.

But seriously, @dracula, could you please offer any kind of visual aid that could help illustrate what you’re talking about?

Since you aren’t creative enough to visual what I mean through descriptive words, take a drink from your toilet since it is so ‘clear.’

I would interpret it to mean you dont like the water color?

Thank you! You have made a BEAUTIFUL game, but this has happened in the past before back before Siptah was a thing. Here are plenty of pictures, some from before and many from after to show you the toilet water haze that ruins the sharp, beautiful, rich visuals of this game. In one of the pictures you can see a standing reinforced torch will a literal ball of toilet water (haze) around it, and that was during a crisp clean night, on the ground, no storm. Like living in a beautiful world with cataracts for no good reason. Can only do 5 at a time so here are the OLD pics so there is a reference point.
NO TORCH OLD NIGHT CRISP
OLD NIGHT NO TORCH CRISP
OLD NIGHT WITH TORCH PLENTY LIGHT AND NO HAZE

And here is the cataract toilet water haze killing the BEAUTIFUL GAME.
DAY NO STORM HAZE FOR DAYS NO CRISP
NIGHT NO STORM YET HAZE
NIGHT STORM BUT OUTSIDE STORM TOTAL HAZE
NIGHT STORM BUT OUTSIDE STORM TOTAL HAZE.png
TOILET WATER DUSK TORCH POINTLESS

Even during the day with no storm the cataract toilet water haze is still there instead of the crisp beauty this game has! Thank you for responding and inquiring. Appreciate that considering I just dropped over 100 bucks into this game between my spouse and I.
ALL TOILET
DAY NO STORM HAZE FOR DAYS NO CRISP
DAYLIGHT NO STORM ALL HAZE
NIGHT NO STORM HAZE BALL AROUND TORCH NOT CRISP

Or maybe he just has cleaner water in his toilet? Have you thought about that?

aaaaaaaaa… I’m gonna go out on a limb here…
Fog?

Aaaaaaa, sorry… but I still think you chose the weirdest metaphor ever… Initially I thought you have a problem with the way water looks :joy:

In any case… are you playing on PC? cuz if so… and it really bothers you… you can just do it yourself… A lot of aspects of fog and lighting and colors and stuff can be customized in the UE4 ini files, here’s an example I posted not long ago
Probably try tweaking these for starters

r.Fog=1
r.FogDensity=0.03
r.FogStartDistance=4

If you dont understand, you dont have to chide, that is the cause of the way in which I am replying to people like you. I’m not sorry for your stupidity. If you are interested, look at the pictures I shared. If you are just here to be a useless combative commentator like the rest, kindly f___ off.

Do you have Volumetric Fog turned on in your Video settings?

I just thought they added more filters to make the world more hazy and harsh looking.

See if you can turn it blue :joy:

Toilet water is haze. Some haze is a nice touch. Too much haze takes away from the beauty of the game.

It’s pretty clear what the OP is describing. The Isle of Siptah can be pretty haze heavy at times and while there could be several factors affecting the look of haze… such as location, time, settings, monitors.

Too much, too often does not add to the look of the game. I does not bother me often, but sometimes, as OP said, it does look like toilet water. Not a literal description, a creative one.

While the water colour in many places has assumed a pigment this one would be reluctant to even boil from…
It’s uglier, but it’s probably more accurate for the outflow from the dregs.

This one imagines that op is complaining because the vision constriction mechanic for game is a nasty haze. It’s not just an absence of light making things harder to see, it is more like a light squelching smog bank. Works great for the unnatural darkness spell. Equally perfect for the Volcano and Unnamed City. Okish for the steamy jungle. Less so for natural clear times in the desert or snowfields. But it’s not just at night. There is a haze around every location at all times. There are no clear horizons.
It’s not just at night, in the mornings there is a set’s sphincter awful white haze in the desert. A bright white wall that is the entire apparently Western Direction (Because the Exiled Lands are all kinds of borked) where the sun rises.
For an example, go into the Wine Cellar, turn on creative mode and fly up. One can see light sources at great distance with clarity. A similar experiment outside at night near Seperemu had very different results for this one. The murky lighting from Siptah seems to have finally befouled the Exiled Lands

TLDR; this one likewise finds the murky look less pleasant than previous incarnations. Downright ugly by comparison. But if your porcelain throne water looks like that, it’s time to flush it down friends.

Yea, but “that one” found a more pleasant way of communicating it rather than being rude and entitled to people trying to understand so they can help. Small differences like that matter

Also… now that I think about it…
I can totally see it!!!

Okay, I’ll go hide in a corner now :joy:

Good one.

Everyone knows a turd is a turd
The art in revealing that effluence has an unpleasant aroma in very strained for it’s obviousness. Most likely to get Claphter. Which is inferior to pure laughter on many levels.

But, and especially when there is a valid point in the post consumer foods, finding that undigested diamond and polishing it, while odious, is an engaging task that gives a personal sense of accomplishment.

So this is all very selfish.
Also, the render distance haze, while understandable from a performance issue, is not pleasant. This one would much prefer a shimmery mirage or diffraction system…
But fog of war it is for now…

Friend, do not flee from your joke.
Own it. Make it and stand proud to absorb the laughs and jeers. Let others laugh with you, or at you, or groan. But levity is a fundamental aspect of society, especially online ones, which is sorely needed.
