I was curious and made a little roundtrip on this server. The “Base“ @Mojojojo0 mentioned is ridicioulus in size but not much lag-inducing, but the clan read the “how to land claim with style“-Guide I presume. Example:
But the main problem was as always that most of the big bases I encountered there reached a size and complexity where common sense would tell people to scale back because the Playstation can’t handle this anymore.
If there would be active moderation on official servers than moderation could issue warnings before suspension, but at it is now it’s probably some poor interns who look at the reports, compare with what said here and act “accordingly“.
If you don’t like this then don’t play on officials, there will probably no change…

I would interpret that as “Intentionally placing foundations near other peoples bases to prevent them from expanding their builds” which I’ve heard is done quite often as a form of PvE griefing on PvE/-C servers.
It might not have been intentional though, but if you did have very close neighbors, then this might have been inevitable and if you’re the one who had some form of remote foundation - perhaps maybe you even placed it as an early counter-measure for getting boxed in or just to support some lighting - then it would make sense that they picked you as the one to suspend.
Other scenarios could include blocking off access through natural paths, forcing players to go out of their way in order to get around your base, or in some weird cases (there’s been examples of this) using building pieces to construct giant letters spelling out insults / profanities. Though from what you said above, these are less likely to be the case
Yeah you might be correct @Xevyr i know one guy got banned by the same ban for building inside other player base to prevent the guy from building and closing the thralls inside boxes.
The reason i don’t agree on “caps” is because it prevents creativity in the game. For example if the thrall cap didn’t exist, i could use gold, excessive gold, to buy archers and fighters from Buccaneers bay and toss them to an open fight against stygians. Once i counted about 350 Stygian, khitan and relic hunters attacking on a lvl X purge. Of course my counting was not exact, but they were more or less that many.
In order to answer in an open fight you need at least 100 soldiers and archers.
Now this cap is preventing any thoughts of open war so i am trying a kill box on an official server with just a dozen of warriors and archers, but dressed decently and having good effective legendary weapons an bows.
Still it’s not an open war, just a slaughter box.
The way we all play purges is not “fair”, most of the opponents are attracted from the cauldron thralls and stay under them until they die, while we help with gas arrows. Our only concern is the exploding golems not to reach the walls and kill the starcallers fast.
So with these said, you understand that the thrall cap is preventing any thoughts of war in the age of war and further.
Like you said brother, any building cap will bring no good either and it will simply minimize the gaming choices we have.
No one has provided a screen shot, some how I doubt seriously you would take a forum post as proof with out a screen shot of the actual ban notice.
The rules say not to block boss spawns but guess what? It’s ok. Don’t think just because you can’t read it in the ToS you can’t get banned for it.

I may have been misinformed but I don’t see why some one would say they were banned for excessive land claim unless that is what the ban notice said. If they were banned for land claim abuse why claim other wise?
And no, claiming people just lie is no sort of explanation.
Used to be a rule you couldn’t, and it wasn’t that long ago. Imagine our surprise when, after dozens of people had been banned for it they stopped banning people. When players on the forum asked WTF, they changed the rule.
So it’s not like they couldn’t start banning people for some thing THEN change the rule.

Update on this: I was suspended, for seven days. That seven days expired yesterday. I still can’t log in. In a couple of days, everything else I had will expire and I will have nothing left.
still nothing. Server should have restarted this morning. So nine days ago I was given an undeserved seven day suspension, which is still not lifted. Tomorrow everything else I made on the sever will decay.
After 4765 hours on this game, they’re probably doing me a favour at this point anyway.
