Because, as test live proved, player still can do nothing and simply wait while their thralls solo do all the stuff. If player did nothing before patch and do nothing after patch then how is this any harder? Longer? Probably yes. Less efficient? Yeah. Harder? Nah.
But you asked why the game won’t become harder if we turn down thrall’s dmg to the level of player’s dmg. It won’t because it’s incorrect to compare doing nothing to doing something and saying that doing something is harder than nothing. The game will stop playing itself and you will start playing it. How hard is it for you to play a game?
Yeah, of course there are players who “play” Conan Exiles for DIFFERENT REASONS. Building, RPing or whatever. “Those pesky purges only distract from a game, thanks god I have my lord and protector Cimmerian berserker!”.
I dont see any point where the got better… Is the AI on testlive so much better than current live?

I always fight together with my thrall… We should make a poll, to see at least how many people really (at least in the forums) played like that.
I would be so happy to GET PURGES. I managed to get a purge during my home-working. Only because I was in the game >6 hours each day. And played >3 hours each day.
If I dont log in for 1 day, the purge bar goes so much back down… Its a nightmare.
Nothing. And nothing changes with the thrall nerf - so why is it good for? Because some % farmed AFK?
To be honest I have no idea should there be a nerf. When I first started playing conan exiles I didn’t even know I could have slaves. Survival of the fittest. Struggling a bit but I did find a way to play the game, ways to survive. Fight or flight one may say. Then I learned I could get slaves and run with them. I still didn’t do that though for some reason. Maybe I just get used to playing without any help - that wasn’t end game content though, just to be clear. When they changed thralls from legacy to leveling, that’s where I started using thrall. And now, I believe I’m starting to rely on them to much. Any farming or fighting, I always have one with me. Makes things faster and easier, and sometimes possible. Obviously, once One get used to getting things fast and easy, it’s hard to downgrade. But I still think we can adapt and survive. We will see in practice how that will work. The only point I really would like to make is that they should implement Thralls differently in pve and pvp servers.
I watched the video of firespark, I noticed only he is whining all the time. Ok they al lowering max HP for thralls, but seems that also bosses HP pool will be reduced, so seems a good compromise. I’m only afraid about PVE-solo could be hitten too much, hope funcom will balance this aspect as good as they can.
Funny story - Blizzard and Diablo 3 only do balancing by adding coins (well, almost always). The results are generally received favorably by the players. Each new season, we look forward to see what sets and legendary items got a nice buff. It is exciting!
The result is funny though. We now have damage buff stats like "increases damage by 75000%. yes, seventy five thousand percent. As a result, when doing damage, you see hits in the billions. So many decimals, you can’t really tell how much you are hitting for in all the action.
Diablo 4, they intend to dial it all back to ground zero again. But hey, no nerfs! Just increase everything else and the nerf never happened
I am not having any issues leveled up to 60 and am trying unnamed city to gear up and level up a cimm zerker, now if its level 10 feet is accuracy its getting guard duty and I’ll get another. Lol.
No problem so far with flamekeeper, brute or 2hander boss.
