maybe yes, not sure, i already got a purge while in infinite loading screen, and i saw in log a line saying “player presence updated” and also you can die of hunger and thirst
This response is a while ago now. Some reaction and help like stopping the decay timers would give us some hope.
That’s a little bit frustrating… Everytime something gamebreaking happens.
No update on it from Funcom is the worst. If bases will decay then I’m not very keen on putting endless hours into farming and building again. Doubt they’ve done back up of servers before releasing latest patch.
It’s 16:17 GMT+1 and I managed to log in official european PVE server #3041. My base is still standing but it’s completly empty. No chests, no work benches, no doors. I dunno if this is usual lag or everything despawned. Originally my decay timers went T:0m0s on friday 10th at 14:00 GMT+1. So I managed to log in after more than 72h+ lol Jesus, all my loot…
Check your log 
You need to look in the event log. Maybe someone take your decayed chests. Or it’s just take time to load in.
If it’s the first then you will find messages about this in the event log
My chests, benches survived. It’s a miracle. All of my outposts are gone. Good for me they were empty. I’m gathering my loot and I’m going to do body vaulting - log out somewhere safe with my inventory full of most precious loot.
So it seems to be so that while you are in loading screen you refresh the base where you are. But also you can die because of hunger for example.
This happened to me the last time we had this issue. I died because of hunger and waked up in the desert. But my base was refreshed.
I lost it anyway because this happens again and we weren’t able to login for over an year.
After a whole they turned off the decay timers. However only my thralls and horses survived it.
But maybe is the Bodyvauling the best solution.
If you do it in your base your body should disappear before your base decay so it should be secure.
I logged in today with my thirst at red critical level today so I quess I was somehow glitching into the server and staying there in the void of lag lol
I got into 3052 this morning and its true the decaytimers seem to refresh on the location you are at also on loading screen, my toon was almost dead of hunger and thirst but my base was at 150 hours. I was only on briefly but on the map seemed to be still major clans bases intact.
I checked it out right now and I am able to login 11 am cet
Im on as well (Gajin clan). Small outposts all decayed, base was on 150. If I find other peoples bases completely decayed Im gonna put their stuff in vaults next to their base
And wow only 14 minutes later everything loads in
Rendnex all autodemolished when I came next to their place.
Valhalla same, autodemolihed, bags despawned quickly…
They should reimburse players for this, all they needed to do is turn decay off.

Already 3 hours ago couldnt log in. Will try in the morning.
same on pc 1977 again, my happiness was short, no CE tonight
Its around one hour from restart this morning, no access on 3052.
