If if means having an experiance on a server where you do NOT deal with said exploits / 3rd party cheats, then yeah, that is exactly a solution. It will literally show them that there ARE other options available to them and that they do NOT have to put up with the garbage experiance that Funcom makes them suffer through.
Furthermore, and I cannot stress enough that this is not directed at you personally Kiki. This is just a trend in post on these threads that pop up all the freakin time.
Insulting or outright telling people not to play on Private servers is not a solution either. Itâs just a sign of elitist. People on this forum love to sh** on private servers and act as if Officials are the âonlyâ way to experience the game, while constantly complaining about how bloody awful the Official servers are. It canât be both the be all end all of experiences while also being the horrific hell scape that they are made out to be at the same time.
And yes, you are correct. The state of the Official servers is the fault of Funcom and Funcom alone. Sure, the players do have some fault on their end, no one is actually forcing them to behave in the way that they are. BUT it is the fact that Funcom is allowing them to do so and not stopping it when it starts (which was many years ago) that is the root cause of the problem, and why it is so prevalent. One person finds an exploit and gets away with it, they share that information, they donât get stopped and it continues for months, well, why should anyone else no do it?
Now THAT is an interesting view to take, considering they discontinued DLC packs well over a year ago. Talk about prioritiesâŠ
I would say the majority of serious admins of Privates do their utmost to ensure that the experience is devoid of these problems. I know for some it becomes like a job though just like Darkwynn has stated (and their server is the best Private PVP Iâve visited so far). Then there are those that do their best but donât know how to recognize or address those problems. They shouldnât have to do this.
Addressing these egregious issues at the company level properly would see happiness from everyone!
Joking aside, yeah burn out is real especially from PvP community and itâs not like these servers pay for themselves by any means either.
And admins canât play on their own servers either and even if they donât you have this negative perception that abuse can happen at a moments notice.
Are their same bad actors? Yes, but those donât last long. For the servers that have been out there and have a good track record people need to try those out and know they can offer a great experience often better then offical
I perceive private servers as a fake version of the game. Officials to me are the only game worthwhile. If it ceases to worthwhile, I would rather hop games.
