For people who build

Is it just me or does anyone else get irritated having someone build right infront of your base. meanwhile their base is a plain box with no creative intent and you have to load their base as well as your own.

You can solve this very easily. All you gotta do is Ģ¶mĢ¶uĢ¶rĢ¶dĢ¶eĢ¶rĢ¶ Ģ¶tĢ¶hĢ¶eĢ¶mĢ¶ place pillars scattered around your base to increase the plot of land that is claimed by you. You can shove them on the ground till they are 3/4 down and you can place ā€œinsideā€ bushes, near trees, etc.

You will get banned for that itā€™s decorative land claim

In short, you have been griefed.

Not really when your base is lagging because someone wants to build next to you

They got as close as they can get to build next to me to lag my base

Then your course of action to redress this is to report them.

I donā€™t report people itā€™s not nice Iā€™m not that type of person. I like to be the person that fixes the problem before reporting

You may have to accept the consequences depending on the outcome.
Iā€™ve come to the understanding that many will go to whatever length it takes to stop anyone from expanding with a total disregard of ā€œpersonal spaceā€.
They have absolutely no respect and a nasty disdain for those such as you.

So itā€™s my fault because they wanna lag my base?

Iā€™m not saying that itā€™s your fault.
You happen to be a victim of circumstances where youā€™re in a place that others seem to have a strong dislike of anyone wanting to build something nice. Even if itā€™s modest.
You might be in a corner because of that if itā€™s a PVE or PVE-C server.
If itā€™s PVP, the solution could be a simple as destroying their little neuseance.

Love how you became very disrespectful towards me when Iā€™ve done nothing to you nor do did you know the situation

Look. What happened to you isnā€™t unique or the only time it ever happened, nor are you the only one this has happened to.
You figure it out.
Iā€™m done.

Youā€™re misinterpreting his response, Mary. Donā€™t worry. He just meant that some people are going to be rude and mess with peopleā€™s builds by building too close. Donā€™t take it too personally. That being said, I doubt this is such a case. Most of the time I see these pop up because said individuals are just kids that lack the concept of personal space. They think they can claim any open spot and donā€™t realize the consequences of said actions as they tend to take a toll on the server in that particular area. All that can be done is either wait it out and theyā€™ll disappear, or you report them for some sorta infraction.

Iā€™ll assume youā€™re talking about PVE(-C) server, because the solution on a PVP server is trivial

Have you tried talking to them politely? Sometimes this happens when someone is completely new to the game and they donā€™t know all the nuances. This can often be solved by talking to them, explaining the situation, offering to help them move, etc. You can even make a new friend in the process.

Sometimes it happens because itā€™s a veteran player who just moved to your server and had to put down their stuff in a hurry. Again, talking to them can help. Maybe theyā€™re already planning to move and this is very temporary.

Of course, thereā€™s always a possibility that this is an experienced player who just doesnā€™t give a flying fuсk about anyone or anything that doesnā€™t inconvenience them personally. If you talked to them and you realized thatā€™s the case, your options are very limited. You can resign yourself to living with them. You can wait until they break the rules and report them. Or you can wait until your base is getting purged and hope one or more of the waves will come from a direction that puts their base in harmā€™s way. Indeed, you can even help the purge realize that your buildings arenā€™t the only available target in the vicinity

At any rate, a polite talk is always the best way to resolve this, when possible.

Do not do that unless you absolutely crave new experiences and you havenā€™t experienced an official server suspension yet. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yes itā€™s a PVE server I finally got his name to pop up today

Sheā€™s in my clanā€¦ and we got suspended for decorative land claim (I believe?) already. So yeah, sheā€™s familiar with it and thatā€™s why we wonā€™t do that.

This is actually a PvE siptah server. I have not seen the base other than screenshots since Iā€™m currently out of the country, but I believe itā€™s on a cliff right in front of us, so the likelihood of a purge wiping them seems pretty low. Iā€™m more inclined to ignore them the best we can and wait it out. They always disappear at some point, especially when building shit shacks in sandstone (Large or otherwise). That being said, she says sheā€™s lagging on ps5 there, so itā€™s hard to say for my experience until I get home next week.

Where in the rules says that you canā€™t place pillars to prevent people settling near your claim? Is this an official server rule? Of course you should not spam pillars left and right, but placing them at some distance from your walls so people canā€™t do exactly what this player did to OP.
