Conan is a gem among the survival games now because it requires lower system. They now need to add dirt foundations, circle foundations, walls, ceiling each with 2x2,3x3,4x4 maybe even 5x5 versions of them, double doors and frames, water block just for decoration purposes. Some of those need to be free and crom coins need to be cheaper.Probably a small amount of dev working on this game now i wish them good luck if the modders can do it you guys can do it too.
Aloft (which I know nothing about) aside, Funcom has a long and storied history of horrendous missteps and a complete refusal to listen to, let alone acknowledge, its players. They destroyed the thriving RP community they were blessed with in Age of Conan. And they learned nothing from it outside of the fact that if they gave us private modded servers we’d be reliable cash cows. But now they have Tencent as their evil overlords and TC does not like private servers or mods. And TC is probably completely unaware that this is part of what has hurt Dune. Because even with the game as it is… RPers would have been all over it if it had followed the same model as CE. So I honestly have little hope for the company or its games going forward.
And yes, I am “part of the problem” because I do foolishly buy DLC now and again. Though definitely not all of it. Because way too much of it IS incredibly shoddy. Mostly I do it because I will support a game I play and yes, SOME of it is so cool looking I can’t resist. I think both arguments for and against DLC purchases are valid and that we can’t really know for certain which is right.
The camp that says, “If you buy DLC that just tells them everything is fine and we’re willing to accept a broken game,” might very well be right. And the camp that says, “If you don’t buy DLC and that last revenue stream from the game dries up the company will have no further reason to support it, let alone attempt to improve it and they’ll sunset it,” also has a point, if for no other reason than that we know TC cares not a whit for the games it gets its tentacles on and looks at them ONLY through the lens of profit and loss and will ruthlessly axe anything that isn’t living up to their expectations because they refuse to invest because they don’t consider games art. They simply view them as mechanisms with which to extract money and then discard their lifeless corpses after they have sucked them dry.
Maybe Funcom is learning that now but far too late.
Aloft was released in January of this year: Save 25% on Aloft on Steam
and it flopped: https://steamdb.info/app/1660080/charts/
Someone does not understand the concept of released now does he?
Taken directly from that very steam page they so graciously linked, which I have already been to, which is why I already knew the game was still in EARLY ACCESS and therefore it has not yet been released.
Games are not considered to be released until their “Full Release Date”, which is when full development has been completed and the game is no longer in EARLY ACCESS. This is the came for every single game that has an early access period, including Conan Exiles. How can such a simple concept elude you? Furthermore, numbers on things like “steam charts” are not even viewed or taken into consideration about a games “success” while the game is in early access, only the information from the date of RELEASE. So again, how can a game flop when it has not yet even been released?
The game “Aloft” is not a hit… already. It’s not highly anticipated. This comment is already aging well.
The fact here is that nobody is wrong. So everyone chooses what he-she believes it’s right as long as we don’t judge the others for taking opposite decision and understand each other.
What’s very important is to continue playing and apply “constructive criticism “ or report the issues of the game.
I am on Hiatus from the game the last couple months but i surely didn’t remove it from my console choices, not because i refresh something, no way, but just because it cannot be out of my daily choices of gaming.
Other than that we all know that players lovers of this game, through forum and discord pages tried many ways to get in touch and remind them that we need attention and respect.
Then again some special and charismatic people, from the beginning till now, spend a gazillion hours to create guides, reports, etc…
Last but not least there are players out there that pay server rental each year to keep servers alive so others can have fun.
I believe they know! Let’s just don’t shut up
.
Ps. Let’s try to tag @Community @AndyB at least once the week. He is not forgotten, he’ll never be!
@AndyB is not active and no longer working for Funcom. Don’t know are there anyone? At least someone who has courage to say something from the Funcom stuff.
I have my own “campaing” to force some reaction:
Just silence.
You can start your own:
https://forums.funcom.com/u?group=Funcom&order=posts_read&period=monthly
I am fairly sure stelagel knows that, and that is the very point of his “campaign.”
However, since Andy’s account was deactivated, I think he no longer has access to it. So if he wanted to have a presence on these forums, he would have to create a new account and will never see any of those @ s.
Considering his silent departure though, I am not so sure Andy liked the Conan community as much as they liked him. He is free to come back and tell me that I am wrong.
I am probably onlyone but I always thought that Andy was quite bad at his job. And I never understood why he was so liked? IMO he was one of the reasons why communication between community and dev team was nearly nonexistent or kind of cringe at some times.
Anyways. It is useles to spam (honestly) deactived account. Don’t see any point of doing so? He is no longer employee. So he has no means to affect Funcoms polices and how CE is handled. And he has no obligation to do so either.
At the moment it seems that most of the “Funcom” tag accounts in this forum are dead. Not deactivated but left as zombies. Spam those instead. Maybe someone will answer?
True.
And sad. Because it feels there are no other means left. This is more like a test is there any kind of human activity left from Funcoms side.
So many topics and people are begging for communication - any kind. Just silence.
If I get banned because of spam-campaign. There is at least some activity left from Funcoms side. (human or bot)
In the end I only wish that this game is still in development and continues to exist. Even after frustration after frustration that nothing happens.
If there is some better way to appeal to get response. I am open.
I am guilty too.
My lost years in the business end of things. One thing become more clear than anything else. Ownership doesn’t care how great or bad (or even harmfull) the product is. They only care does the product generate profit as much they like. If revenue is cut (any reason, even their fault) it leads to only one option. Cut down whole product and invest some to some other shit. No matter who gets hurt.
Stop buying CE stuff is fastest way to kill the game.
→ As gamers we have only bad (horrible) options left. Are we already paying from dead corpse?
I have invested huge amount of my spare time to CE and quite a amount of money. So I truly wish this is not the end.
Hope!
Feedback!
Keep playing until they realize their mistake!
Patience!
