@Tystin Where did you get that eel? I want one.
It’s from the upgraded fish traps from the underwater dungeon.
Yes a mount dlc would be excellent. Add wolves and saber mounts,. For giggles and a swiss family Robinson feel…shoebills
The thing is, some of these things (expanded mount list, additional general placeables) this one feels should be added to the base game, rather than additional dlc.
While this one is has cheerfully acquired all of the dlc, the last thing this one wants is all future game content to be locked behind further purchases.
As this is set in the Hyborian Age, I would not want these kind of things. I disliked the “exotic” mounts to Age of Conan (not to mention that the wolves looked like giant wet rats) for this reason as well. This, in my opinion, is something that should be left to mods.
Well I can purchase for another map expansion with a dlc . Something more oriental this time, khitan for example, but surely with less rng almost 0 rng if possible. With really hard dungeons that the knowledge is there waiting for the brave (stupid) ones to aquire.
I want this more than I want my next meal. More religious impact in the game would be great. Adding new DLC placeables to the temples/shrines (these wouldn’t give zeal, obviously) so that the artisan table doesn’t get more bloated than it already is.
This one was just possessed of another thought.
We have cultural packs, they are well and good.
We also have Siptah. Which is an alternative map, much larger than a cultural pack. This one is a proponent of additional maps as DLC.
What if as a mid ground there were micro-zone/massive dungeon DLCs, themed off particular works of source material?
Such as a Tlazitlan (from Red Nails) zone and dungeon. Perhaps a bit lighter on the cosmetics, coming with a few placeables recipes and a single armour set, then having weapons/trophies that drop (or have recipes found) in that arena?
This is a base game issue, not a DLC issue. But I 100% agree the recipe for Hardened Brick needs more adjustment to bring it in line with Black Ice, it’s better now than it was before the first rework. But it still could use some balance.
I also think Black Ice should melt in warm Biomes.
You know what would solve this, right? Make stone to brick 5 to 1 conversion vs 10 to 1 and then change the ratios of insulated wood and black ice to the build set.
Anothe way is to just make black ice builds harden brick, black ice (in place of insulated wood), and steel reinforcements. While that would still make it easier for BI builds, it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch between the two and still makes black ice something to get.
@erjoh
The logic of existence on wood and steel in every high tier build is to justify the connection, stability and shape of the building pieces. Since in this game you don’t use plaster or cementing paste, the only logical way of connecting the materials (hardened brick, black ice) is with wooden planks and steel nails. Normally even in tier 1 builds we should have ropes from fiber that would keep the woods attached that support and shape to a building piece the stones, but for the economy and the balance of the game probably they avoid this detail. So in this case removing the wooden planks the building piece would have no connection and no shape. The point of @droch-aon however is correct, black ice builds should loose stability in warm areas really fast or decay really fast through melting. This exactly is the reason for using insulated wood and not shaped.
This one was under the impression that Black Ice, as a jagged shard from the outer dark, would retain stability rather than be melted in all but equally unnatural flames. Thus it’s use in refrigerators and mystic weapons. It’s one of those subtly unnatural/magical things.
If Black Ice has mystical properties it should be the Tier 4 materiel so many people thought, and some still think it is / was.
And as a tier 4 it should be MORE costly to produce not less.
But the reality is it is just another tier 3 same hit points as any other tier 3.
All T3 builds should have the same amount of grind.
edit for a bit of background.
Don’t get me wrong I mostly haunt the northern biome, I mostly use black ice.
But I remember when building material mattered in biomes, Black Ice in particular.
Originally a black ice building in the desert would kill a logged out player.
The forum was swamped with whining about dying while off line, and 9 out of 10 it was because someone thought black ice was tier 4 when it really just raised the surrounding temperature.
That is where my belief it should melt came from, even though it no longer matters.
If it didn’t have mystical properties, it could no more be used for making weapons than regular ice, or bricks for that matter.
Although this one does recall the previous temperature situations.
Amusing that on one hand it can make a freezer for storage, and on the other, it can make an oven to cook people to death.
Such chaos, such madness…
Surely the Outer Dark does not obey any rules of our world.
Me too Alhambra, even if it is just some cultural reskins of the existing one, but the other items would be amazing, and I don’t get the reluctance to add them. Unless I have overlooked something, there doesn’t seem to be any drawbacks which I can think of. Fingers crossed I guess.
I did not think of coffins, I love it, thanks! A smaller vault would be very welcomed too, even if I have to trade of some space/squares capacity for it. Cupboards really, really need some love.
Wait are there 2 types of shelves now…!? Call me unobservent, but I had not noticed. Which set/DLC does the second belong to?
I am looking forward to a potential difference in the foals; a speedier swift horse and a higher carrying capacity sturdy horse. The foaltease must end!
I believe it’s the vanilla one and the Nemedian, I cannot recall others right now.
Personally, I’d like an upgraded workshop or some other system for assigning bonuses to my armor. Or modify existing bonuses. I play on console and if I like the look of an armor but don’t care about its bonuses, I’m stuck. I must carry a more useful one. For example, I really like the Turanian armor but I’d rather it give me bonuses in Strength or Vitality rather than Survival.
I wish crafting armor wasn’t just about giving it a shape and pre-established benefits. I would like to modify them, as I can improve their flexibility or their solidity. Oh yeah, and I’d like animal armor too. Because they have nothing to improve.
@BlackMamba
I would love gas masks for pets, they are extremely vulnerable, not all of them, it would be really painful, but some of them would be good.
