Doesn’t work. I do find that I only crash on a modded server. Playing on the official servers I can play just fine.
This variable solution didn’t work for me, at first I thought it worked, I even increased the graphics to test, but it still froze my game after about 10 minutes
No, since im connecting via direct connect i didnt get any notification to recreate. It worked with opening steam in administration mode yesterday but today, without that, it keeps crashing again. Need to try some of the things people wrote here but i hope there will be a general fix to the problem. The patch yesterday kinda messed everything up.
Nope this will not help. I deleted evrything and reinstalled everything. Same Error as before
Thank you Demonseed <3.
Unfortunately, the fix doesn’t work for us.
@Ignasi Have been playing for over an hour now with no crashes so far since I tried that method.
For those of you still affected by this issue after trying the workaround listed above, could you send us the following information via DM?
- Your DxDiag (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028644/windows-open-and-run-dxdiagexe)
- Your latest gamelogs (located in ConanSandbox\Saved)
- If playing in an official server, server number and character name.
As a side-question, do any of you suffering from this issue have any antivirus software installed? If so, which one?
Thanks in advance.
I battled this issue all yesterday Windows 10 complete hang (and posted here many times).
Late in the evening I realized I could log on alt and not crash if logging on Alt as in character on other steam ID. Same computer, same server same setup.
We stripped the crashing character of everything she was wearing, no luck.
We recreated the character. And it still crashed.
Then we had other player Delete her from Pippi (which presumably resets deletes something more than just recreate ?) as I logged off. And I logged back in and created once again.
And Character no longer crashes with the Windows 10 endless hang of the process.
She is now wearing same items and everything same as before and no crashes.
We now though have new players crashing in this same way who were not crashing last night.

Same. Was working fine last night only when I tried to play today that the problems started.
@Ignasi, I have tried ALL of the so-called fixes. THIS is what happens
I log into the server I play on.
I don’t move, chat or anything
The game client freezes solid and become unresponsive within 1 - 2 minutes.
I am running Windows 10.
I have been unable to play Conan for 29 hours NOW and quite honestly I am completely frustrated by the lack of communication as to fixes for this issue. It’s obvious that I am NOT the only one experiencing this problem - YET, we are hearing little to nothing from Funcom. NO ETA for players at all. This is not an acceptable way to treat people who have spent money on the game. AGAIN - the patch should have been rolled back - but instead, we have to put up with this broken mess, without even an explanation about WHY it’s not being rolled back until it can be fixed. I should add that I have tried every fix mentioned - to no avail. I have gotten the exact same results over the last 20x I have tried.
UPDATE: @everyone having freezing issues - PLEASE try the fix that was posted by Demonseed and (ack can’t remember other person’s name (sorry) It worked for me and appears to be helping others as well. Here it is:
I FOUND A FIX!
(Example assumes Steam library is in C:\Steam)
First, uninstall BattleEye by going to and clicking here:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\BattleEye\Uninstall_BattlEye.bat
Next, reinstall it from here:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox_BE.exe
If the game launches, exit it.
Next, go into this folder and DELETE all the files:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Logs
Finally, in that same folder, right click and create a new FOLDER named:
SilentEvents.log-upload-0
(making a folder with this name prevents the game from writing a log file here with the same name)
That’s it. Load up the game, you “should” be stable and not freeze/lockup every 3 minutes like I was!
This fix was found in a Win7 thread (even though I like most people are running Win10) that’s very active right now. Kudos to Illidan for it!
Hope this helps everyone get back into their game!
Still Freezing
Also have this exact same issue. I’ve tried several ‘fixes’:
- Turned off Geforce Experience
- Started without battleye (which I always did anyway)
- Started via Geforce Experience launcher
None of these work. I log in, do my thing for a few mins, screen freezes and I have to close it via taskmanager. This never happened before in the years that I play this game. It happened after the patch.
No sorry ist enough with Workaround Tipps… i just stoped playing 1,5 Years ago because any Funcom Patch has been a Desaster…
Now i returned and after around 12 Hours of playing and enjoying the game… you did it again……patch and no longer abe to play…….… dont waste my time with WORKAROUNDS! …. Patch Day Horror Day and still not fixed………….

The game is also freezing for me, very consistently less than a minute upon logging into a modded server.
Running the app against a profile provided the possible kicker that is causing the crash.
See my Google Doc for that information and my DxDiag report
(Since I just registered to post this it’s not letting me provide the link)

Quick reminder: based on some of the dxdiags and logs we’re receiving, it seems most issues seem to be related to mods and outdated versions.
Please those of you playing with no mods or in official servers, send us the information we listed here:
This way our team can pinpoint exactly the cause for this problem.
In terms of mods, please also remember that after an update there might be a period of time where each mod needs to be updated to the latest game version. Outdated mods might cause stability issues and erratic performance.
So after FunCom breaking the game again and making it unplayable for just around 4 days it is time for free DLCs for all Players i guess…
(secret Hint: Crahes will occur with and without mods
)
