Well said. I support every word
Its not a “habbit” - It’s wrecking the entire pvp population.
Your facts and arguments seem to only be here to stir up an argument and dissagree with the majority. They hold no valid points, at all.
Thats very good, but the problem remains. The stupid AI movement. You can just gang up like 10 NPC’s at the time like you do with animals and gas arrows. And when it even goes trough walls…its BETTER, but its still gonna make offline raiding easypeasy again.
I still would like a petition to just remove them. Lets fix this and keep moving forward. This was like 10 steps back.
It would be nice if the arrow touched the wearer and crashed into his body and not into his armor that he followed it in his movement and that the gas continued to be emitted as he moved.
The same is true if one tar arrow fails and another arrives to ignite.
@Ignasi, Great! You just prolong the attack, still don’t fix the issues with them.
Instead of 1.5 mins, 10-15 arrows (approx 1 mob kill to make).
We now get 15 mins, 100-150 arrows (approx 1-3 mob kills to make).
Even at base costs that goes from 5-10 black blood (approx 1/4th to 1/8th of a single mob kill). To 50-100 black blood (approx 1-3 mob kills).
Let’s say the mob spawns every 15 mins (haven’t looked at its respawn timer) that’s 45 mins of farming. But in reality 15 mins and 30 minutes of downtime.
Now let’s say we are only talking about a single thrall. Let’s say you throw it in some flawless epic (2250 durability, Cimmerian Steel Pauldrons). Just that single piece of armor is:
- 16 Hardened Steel Bar
** 32 steel bars (2 steel bar each)
*** 160 iron bars (5 iron bar each)
**** 320 ironstone (2 ironstone each)
*** 32 steelfire (1 steelfire each)
**** 64 tar (2 Tar each)
**** 32 brimstone (1 brimstone each)
** 16 brimstone (1 brimstone each) - 10 Hardened Leather
** 50 leather (5 leather each)
** 20 thick leather (2 thick leather each)
** 20 alchemy base (2 alchemy base each)
*** 40 silver dust (2 silver dust)
*** 20 gold dust (1 gold dust)
*** 40 ichor (2 ichor)
** 50 oil (5 oil each)
To fully repair.
To go back to the acid arrows that’s 37.5 minutes (presuming it’s a single tick per second, but I seem to recall it was multiple ticks per second in some thread somewhere) to kill the armor, and approx 250-375 arrows or 125-190 black blood (approx 3-8 mob kills depending on your game mode and luck).
So now let’s add up the time now.
Acid arrows:
15-40 minutes of farming the black blood
15-30 minutes to farm the volatile glands
5-10 minutes for branches and feathers
40 minutes of shooting arrows
Total runs for supplies: 3
Total time: 75-120 minutes
Single piece of armor (only counting on repair, we are presuming the thrall lives and the armor can be repaired):
5-10 minutes to farm the brimstone
5-10 minutes to farm the ironstone
5 minutes to put fish in the press and cook some for the ichor
5-10 minutes for the gold
5-10 minutes for the silver
10-20 minutes for the hide gathering
Total runs for supplies: 6
Total time: 35-60 minutes prior to craft time
So a single piece of an armor set presuming the thrall lives costs you half to nearly the same time (not including craft time) as the person shooting the arrows at your Thralls. And you are also making double the supply runs.
Again that’s a single piece of armor on a single thrall.
Again there is no defense against these arrows. Other than a god bubble or keeping your Thralls inside a 2 thick foundation building. Even with this nerf being hotfixed in as I’ve shown above the effort is for the attacker vs the defender is grossly unbalanced. Simply multiply the farm time for the defender by 4-5 for a full armor set then multiple it by w/e number of Thralls that would run into the cloud.
They do less damage than poison arrows, if used in pve id presume you have a thrall out. If so you’ll be stripping your own thrall if it’s armor and your thrall can’t avoid it with a sandstorm mask. So again in PVE useless.
Sorry @Ignasi have you any news about this arrows in PvE-Conflict ? It was intended they could work on thralls in this game mode or It will be fixed ?
Hey @Born2bAlive
We’ve mentioned above that we found an issue with that and we’re deploying a fix for it soon.
for @Shinrai
Always is more easy destroy that create or repair… as real life
Well said. Just remove the damn arrows Funcom. Please. As i said earlier, lets move FORWARD, not backwards.
@Fastorro, sure great. But even with the nerf they are hotfixing into the game the are still 4-5 times easier than even repairing a single Thralls armor. This doesn’t even account for multiple Thralls all running to the same spot where the cloud is. Or even that more than likely if someone is going to take the time to strip the armor they are going to kill the thrall. Thus losing the gear which cost more to make than it would be to repair (the numbers I gave).
Even with the upcoming intended nerf they are grossly OP in comparison to what they are intended to target.
Also keep in mind my times didn’t include the walking to the resources required or the crafting time required to create all the mats. All the mats for the arrows are Tier 1 mats. All the mats to repair the flawless epic are Tier 4 mats.
Yeah…this is…well, gas arrows rendered the animal pets totallt useless #defencewise. Because you can gas as many as you like at the same time and just give it 5 min and poof they are dead.
Now with this Acid Arrow, the same goes for NPCs. How DID this get past the morning meeting indeed.
bud this one is even PvE broken
Remove them from the game. They are overpowered at any rate.
bet that guy wished his thrall would have helped
Difference being animal pets are simply a waiting game. You can gather a ton of baby pets and simply throw them through the pen 5 at a time. 20% chance for the greater ones with the right food. They are much more expendable than Thralls. Not to mention you don’t put armor on them.
Now don’t get any illusions here. Thralls and pets are and will always be just speed bumps in a raid. But it should not be this easy, nor much less time consuming to kill Thralls as these acid arrows have made it.
I agree with you 100%
I’ve been wondering the same thing, how in the world did the devs think these arrows are ok to put in the game? SImply gamebreaking.
You can make them only apply their effect on hit and just remove the cloud entirely, and have it only work on armor but not weapons.
