Before anything else, I just want to say that I know there are other underlying and more important issues that probably need attention first. This post is not meant as an attack or criticism. On the contrary, it’s really nice to see maintenance and improvements happening through recent and upcoming patches, and I genuinely appreciate that work.
It shows a modded character creation with some really cool customization options. Customization is one of those areas a game can almost never have too much of.
I’m not asking for a huge new system or a massive patch, but more of a small wish: it would be great to see similar customization options make their way into the game someday — either through the shop or, even better, as part of a future patch.
It’s always fun to see how creative players can get with just a few mods. Personally, I’d love not having to give up my favorite servers just to play on heavily modded ones, where things sometimes go a bit overboard or lean too much into high fantasy. These more down-to-earth mods feel like a perfect fit for the game’s style.
I’d honestly be happy to see something like this in the future — and I’d even be willing to pay for it through the shop system
When the orb of nergal was put in the game I assumed paid character customization options were right around the corner but it never really happened beyond warpaints. Definitely a missed chance at easy money on Funcom’s part.
I can’t know for sure but I suspect console limitations make adding such things unfeasible.
I remember that , but it has somthing to do with how Male / Female is structured in the system sadly but sure thing is somthing Id hope they would make possible one day - and still give this game the love it deserves rather than mainly focusing on Dune
While I get the idea and I’m certainly not against having more customization options for characters (and thralls as well - why none of them has beard for example?), I would like FC to deal with exploits, stability and new content first. Plus that barbie from yt link you posted fits more to some kind of anime femdom, rather rough, barbarian theme game.
Standard customization is awful, among the worst I ever saw. If you care about having a good looking character and play as a male, you’re shit out of luck. I bet you’re one of those dudes who don’t bother much with that stuff. However, those gifted with taste and imagination tend to spend some time perfecting the looks of a character that they will play for many hours. The lack of customization options is glaring. Yet you can grow your dick, ffs…
That said, this is hardly a priority and tbh, I never expect it to happen.
It’s not an RPG but an old survival game, and for that kind of game the system is quite good. Many games don’t even have customization or a gender choice.
I actually care, and I bet more than you, dude.. If you really wanted changes, you’d offer suggestions instead of snapping at me or the devs.
I don’t like talking to walls. Devs don’t give a f any longer. I don’t bother giving suggestions anymore. It’s almost ridiculous, all things considered.
Anyway, about character customization, If a mod can do it, so could the devs implement it. And the game would be better for it. That’s all I’m saying. And this is hardly a survival game, buddy. It has a soft survival flavour, mostly.
First of all I hope you are doing fine, since I remember you for being more…calm(?) back in the day. Second - while plastic surgery of your char could be nice addition, there are more important things to do from FC side. Of course they won’t do it, since this is the age of “what the hell is going on/lay off all CE staff”, so we can’t count on anything substantial to be implemented. Oh and it is hard for me to check my hairstyle and make up while wearing full silent legion…
Rest of the arguments? I’ve only jokingly mentioned, that you can’t see your char in full armor, there aren’t any other “arguments” there (FC reducing CE stuff and another age limbo are facts, not an arguments), but fine.
I wasn’t refering specifically to your post, but to the arguments that are against us having better character customization. Not being a priority is the only one I agree with. Are you OK? You assume I’m not calm, the other dude assumes I’m snapping at him… when I am just arguing in favor of a better game that, most likely, we will never have. Am I missing smth?
PS about the lay-offs… they sure made their bed.

the video was simply an inspiration your opinion as they are too barbie or anime is fine that you share it, I dont mind them - just as I dont mind or should I say love the style funcom already went with and I would like to see more of.

that is also cool with me, that it is simply a suggestion - I am just always amazed to see what modders seem to come up with - the video is just a sample of what could be done - I personally think it looks cool and I am not against this modders mod but Id love to see Funcoms version just to align the conversation
