How big is your base?

I did get hit by a meteor, but that was on Savage Wilds - heard the rumble, looked round to see where it was coming from, saw a bright light, then got asked to chose whether to respawn on bed or bedroll, lol. Fortunately, my horse and dog were both fine when I got back there. Never had it happen to me on EL or Siptah though - but I’m more paranoid now when I hear that sound, and tend to just run for cover

I see some people have much bigger bases, but nobody else has come close to my placeables yet.

Wow that is a ton of placeables. I would love to see your places since you must really decorated to the hilt.

I might have to make a video touring my main base.

Now I know why Officials run <20 FPS. Expect to see building limits in the near future. :stuck_out_tongue:

My current base on my new character is 50 pieces and 6 placeables. Last character before this one had just under 500 pieces and about 50 placeables.

I don’t usually go over 700 when solo, but have gone as high as 2500 in a clan in normal play. Largest build would have been 100,000 about a year ago (used Pippi to count them). But that was for a few MMORPG style dungeons players could run through.

Hopefully, this is useful to everyone. I play on many servers. I love levelling up and surviving more than just maintaining and building, even though I love the building aspect of the game a lot.

Server Building Pieces Placeables Clan Buildings Notes
1510 36921 4330 5 9 Tower to roof of world ( 227 walls high X 20 = 4540 pieces ). Half the clan doesn’t play on any server and half the buildings aren’t used.
1524 18629 1386 3 6 Inherited another clan, seeing this, I should decommission their bases.
1726 11018 808 3 4 Tower to roof of world which would account for ~300 X 20 = 6000 pieces.
1520 9643 526 2 2
1504 6864 653 2 2
6158 6063 693 2 3
1522 5891 413 1 2
1521 5760 913 3 3
1512 5453 256 1 3
1503 5191 411 2 2
6437 4905 542 2 3
1513 4043 311 1 2
1514 3693 597 2 2
1508 3343 155 1 2
1506 2790 416 2 2
1725 2788 111 1 2
6436 1838 142 2 2
1511 1297 176 1 1
1507 445 105 2 1
1509 0 0 1 0 Still levelling up

After I have levelled up, I keep the buildings because of the time I put into them. I wish I could download and save my work. I would gladly remove myself from a lot of servers or even pair things down more. The game lets you be creative, but you end up with many innovative buildings you make over time. The only way to avoid hogging the server is to switch servers and start over on another one.

Some of you mentioned lag due to building size. I don’t think that is the worst source of lag. I have ridden by huge bases with no lag whereas I have passed by smaller ones with a tonne of palisades surrounding them and I lag like hell and constantly bump into palisades that suddenly appear at the last second because the game server is taking so long to load them all. I have also seen the same behaviour passing by small bases that have overused torches.

Kinda tough to say on server 1036… since we’re 2 people with a seperate base
No clue how big my own is but i think its build on around 200 foundations

@prologue1337, Just open your clan tab and look, you don’t have to be in a clan to see the information.

I know but since the other base isn’t mine its kinda hard to seperate

That’s ok. Post the numbers, how big the clan is and the number of buildings like I did above.

It’s kind of off-topic here, so I posted the video tour on the Share your Shelter topic.

I love your stables so much. It’s all your little touches!

@Rhoklaw would you mind sharing your baseline FPS? For instance mine is 60. In my thralling base with all my misfits and stuff, I hit 57 FPS. At my largest base, I sometimes descend as low as 48. Do you have any figures from your bases, among your players?

Is there an in-game function to show FPS? I’d be happy to show it if there is.

Your Steam Panel has a setting which shows FPS. In-Game hit Shift + Tab to open Steam’s interface. At the bottom, click SETTINGS. Then click the “IN-GAME” Tab. On the left, select a place on the screen for the counter and it will be enabled in that corner, Click OK. Once you’re done with Settings, hit Shift + Tab again to close Steam interface.

I turned on my GeForce panel and basically, I get 60 FPS outside my main base. Once I travel inside it drops to about 45-55. If I head towards my 2 buildings with about 100 lanterns as lights, it drops down to 25. This is with a 1080 GTX.

This is with all graphic settings set to ULTRA as well.

I’ll upload a video tour of the base on that other thread where people were posting on.

Great baseline. I use a 1060 on an i7 for my “median” group.

Why in Set’s name do you run 100 lanterns? :smile_cat:

It’s not 100, more like 50, but it gets dark at night, especially during a maelstrom. I just like areas where I actually need to be able to see to be well lit. I recently built a new computer, but alas, GPU’s are ridiculously overpriced, so I kept my 1080 for now. I’ll upgrade my GPU when they stop gouging gamers because of bitcoin farmers.

Current Computer Specs:
X570 AORUS PRO Gaming Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor 3.80 GHz
128GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit
1TB SSD, 1TB M.2, 500GB M.2
1080GTX GPU
