Have you caught onto what is wrong yet? The title is, exploiters are running rampant in this game and it feels like funcom simply do not care or do not efficiently act against them.
In the last few weeks since I decided to give official servers another go, I’ve seen people being able to enter bases from the green wall, people breaking buildings outside of raid time, people building bases under ground, the most common being bases building under ground, there are at least two clans on my current server who are doing this or have done so.
If I go back 6 months or so until I last played, we had people building inside locations at the ruins of xullan, people raiding out of hours, full 50 points in everything and people duping items. Now here I am, all this time later after taking a break and I see they’re still running rampant and funcom are doing nothing about it.
So, Funcom, when will you finally wake up and act against exploiters? How much longer are players who want a fair experience expected to wait?
Not to provide excuses for Funcom but the bugs and exploits you speak of are usually talked about in sources that dont matter; youtube, general discussion, reddit, facebook, whatever. The only place exploits should be reported on is Exploit Hunters. The forum says you last posted 8months ago so I will assume you are not new to Conan and you do realize that Funcom isnt a AAA giant with vast resources so they should not be expected to scour the internet looking for people crying about exploits in all the wrong locations. They monitor the tool they provided and the fix everything that they can. I have watched them rectify situations of cheaters on officials first hand. It happens. People just need to use the correct tool for the job.
You don’t need to an AAA giant to address exploiting in your games, that there feels like you’re making excuses for them. It should be expected that exploiters pay the price for their actions, regardless to whether the company in question is an AAA giant or not or do you prefer a system where cheaters never answer for their actions?
I’m already aware of exploit hunters, that only wants me to report bugs and how to replicate them, I’ve already told them about the ruins of xullan exploit in the past and the offline raiding glitch clans were fond of, it targets bugs, not individuals causing trouble on servers by exploiting them.
Exactly as it should be, theres no way to actively monitor thousands of players at a time.
The only way is to get rid of the possible exploits, and this is what they do accordingly.
It may be that this takes time for one specific glitch, but at the same time many others are fixed.
But then again, of course the one that annoys you the most must be fixed first right? Sadly this isnt the case, its beeing done in a timely maner, one at a time as the reports come in, and according to ho9w serious the glitch/exploit is.
The more people that report the same thing means it will be adressed that musch sooner.
And you are wrong. As I stated, Ive watched Funcom crack down on the players themselves. And yes it does take a AAA giant to monitor over a million people. But naw your right.
Funcom, this gent wants you to stop working on the game right now to babysit. Please do so.
It would be more helpful if you would send the Devs how to reproduce these exploits.
Undermeshing can occur due to several instances allowing it. That funcom closed a few of them in the past doesn’t necessarily mean that this problem is fixed. Neither does ongoing undermeshing mean that funcom didn’t do anything about it.
Same with duping. There might be several ways to perform this and each way must be investigated in order to be closed.
I don’t know about offline raiding, but this wouldn’t be such an issue if we had not this artificial restriction to raiding time. The offline raid methods I saw occuring where super inefficient and not attractive at all if people were not relying so much on the raidtimer. (Eg. if you build only sandstone or a box to store important goods, just because the raidtimer is off, I find it worthy to deal minimum damage with exploits just to break that 5k hp)
I am sorry but exploit hunters seems to be ignored constantly. I have reported so many exploitable bugs in EA and never got any response. Some got fixed, some remained, but my general impression is that I could have kept all that to myself as well. Much better if you can get a response that the Dev team is aware of the problem.
Dismantling bug gets into game - Funcom takes it out of game - New Patch comes out - Dismantling bug gets back into game - two weeks later Funcom still hasn’t fixed it.
Its a wonderful bench. The problem is that the devs didnt sort out the arrows in the beginning which lead to the oversight that gave us the first bug. Then this last update rolled out and it was built off the previous version that had the bug instead of the updated version where they had deleted arrows. The new content didnt give us this. Using the older build for the dlc update did. Its a lesson in good housekeeping that all developers deal with. Someone at Funcom failed hard and I’m sure their boss is looking at them with disgust right now. Pay attention when you are compiling your work devs
BTW its human error. cut them some slack. It happens. Pick up modding or if you are really bold, game development for a year and you’ll know first hand.
I just hope that when they fix it its not another bandaid (remove arrows bs). Make the bench give back something for arrows.
The best solution is to take the process and reverse it. 1 arrow makes 5 then only 5 at a time can be dismantled. And base it on the T4 mat cost, not normal, if not 50% of that (rounding down for everything.)
Normally i’d say “I’m sure they can use the spoiled-meat to ichor fluid press code for arrows?” but i’m sure they thought of that already.
Experimental code that was too awesome to not try and implement, then this happens.
I think they’ll simply fix the anti-arrow benching code in the next update.
… Although the branch-based economy is a good solution against griefers blocking resources like Brimstone.
Ya know. Regen is getting nerfed. At the same time, lifeblood spear is probably gonna get nerfed…
Arrow R/E is gonna get removed… so let’s just hope the new content is good enough to make up for this onslaught of anti-QoL.
It’s just depressing in general though, that the PvP folk will always find a way to destroy every little joy that survives so… only thing I can say is enjoy every second of CE like it’s your last, because it’s more relevant in this game than any other.
yep. the new one effects everyone. Trolls now have an easier path on PVE. All i can say without getting in trouble for sharing the horrible game breaking dupe that is now available.
don’t know how the XP is affected, but it might be possible. But will tell you, if one wants to get to 60 in a legit way on officials, it can be done in 6-8 hours of pure hardcore grinding. I have done it so many times, it is literally like a game of old school pac-man with my patterns.
I refer to the nerfing of silent legion, the crom blade, the entire obsidian tier, vault HP, health regen, spears, the neutering of the siege hammer and then some.
“Oh but those were too OP.” It’s not OP if everyone on PvE has access to them equally and enjoys them. It’s always for PvP that unilateral “compromises” are being had.
PvE is held back in it’s potential so the PvP folk can CheatEngine a bit more “fairly”.
If Conan Exiles didn’t have PvP to worry about, we’d have wardrobe system, Vanity slots, Vendors, Alliance system, Chest PINS, and so much more.
Instead we’re having nothing but griefings, rage quits and more. Negativity negativity, because the devs can’t keep up with the creative uncompromising disregard that people have for one another expressed in digital form with CE as the medium.
And yes, PvE is usually LalaCarebearland because disharmony and chaos on PvE servers is SOOOOO much worse than on PvP.
Everytime I see someone from a PvP come on here to whine on these forums I think: “Is THIS what PvE is held back for?!”
But anyway… This thread is about exploits, not PvE vs. PvP. But now you know my sentiment.
I wish there was telemetry on how many PvErs vs PvPers buy DLCs.
I’m sure PvP folk are totally into using hardened brick over black ice. Waste resources. Do it with style, right? Totally worth repairing. Especially with dismantling benches.
I’m sure PvP folk stay long enough to buy DLC’s to support the devs so they can make the game CheatEngine proof, and ban exploiters.
Especially now that Conan Exiles is free on PSN, i’m sure the PvP folk make up a great percentile of Funcoms income.
I understand, but exploit is totally different than OP. OP will always be open to judgement. The spear is OP, Bombs, are OP, Gods are OP. But exploits are totally different. And to be fair, exploiting is not really cheating in my eyes. I don’t like exploits, think they ruin the fun i have, but exploits are abusing a mechanic to the detriment of the intended mechanic. The new one does effect PVE as much as PVP, because of how it can feed trolls endless mats. Really one that we all should be riled up about. This one is more that proper vetting of all scenarios weren’t done. That is my biggest complaint. A simple Excel Spread sheet could have saw this one coming. And it is using a perfectly legal game play mechanic, no button or macro trickery scorcery needed. That is the sad part.
