So I’ve spent several hours trying to find a solution and/or fix the bug. Wasted my entire morning. None of the above tactics work. Perhaps because the server has old versions of the mods, but there is no way to tell this.
If I were cynical, I’d say Funcom was leaving this bug in to make playing modded servers unfun so as to sell more battlepass stuff so Vanilla servers are more interesting. Especially since the bug has been there since 3.0 came out over a month ago.
I really cannot understand why this issue isn’t being addressed. People loose hours and hours of their live, reinstalling mods, reinstalling the game just because the comparison between client and server mods is broken. This should not be too difficult to fix after nearly two months.
This infinity loop loading bug is back again since patch 3.05. This is beyond totally annoying. Please Funcom - you have to give this priority - this is not acceptable.
All my mods are updated, all the mods on the server are updated - 1 player could join and all other players are hanging in this loop. For me I have a black screen now with the moving loading bubbles in left corner of the screen for at least 10 Minutes - this is definitely a backstep for this game. I want to play it with mods and Funcom does everything I cant do this. Everything was fine till 3.05 … what a mess
There is a second Folder named “Mods Cached” since today. Game Filesize is now so big and problems with mod order changing, installing and deinstalling mods.
Since recent update today, deleting the mod.txt file, unsubscribing from all mods, launching and connecting to my dedicated server. Still not able to connect. I have noticed that a new mod.txt file isn’t generating anymore. Did a file validation, unsubscribed from all mods. There wasn’t a mod.txt file to delete and reconnected to the server and allowed the server to dl the needed mods. Still not able to connect. Check again, no mod.txt file has generated. Did a complete uninstall and reinstall of game with no mod subscriptions, connected to server, allowed the subscribe and dl again, still not able to connect to my dedicated server and again, no mod.txt file was generated. Could this be where the problem is?
I’m trying to reinstall now (the 2nd after 3.0) if that doesn’t work I’m probably out. Been there since early access - never been so frustrated before. Too bad
So far, it has not worked for me. (Already reinstalled all the mods, reinstalled the mods separately after the big reinstall that were updated today, file verification, removed the cache files, wiped the mod lists, restarted the servers). Currently attempting to log in the server with people on it, to no avail (was restarted about 50 minutes ago).
So unfortunately, I am not sure to resolve this issue on my end. Granted, I am sure I could play on the official server with no issue, although I needed to log into my server to resolve an issue as admin.
I will continue to fiddle with this.
Added note, I see the mods versions are correct on the server.
Hmm I will check Gportal files regarding that. Although weird, 2 are able to log and I am not. Shrug. Granted, another mod just updated just this moment so I have to restart all 4 servers anyway once it lands on Gportal. Then I can test again.
A solution may work one time but then won’t work another time. One person may not have any issues logging in but another will get the infinite loading loop when logging into the same server. This only started once 3.0 was released. It almost seems like Funcom added something deliberately to prevent the use of mods. That is just my opinion.
I tried multiple tricks to get logged in today, but no luck. Not mad, just disappointed.
