Bring back spear PvP

the main reason I don’t like this design so much is that it puts people on the backfoot in a worse position, it’s a “poor get poorer” kind of scenario. this may not be a completely accurate assessment, but i think most (hardcore) people would agree, a way to skillfully recover would be necessary. maybe that way already exists, maybe it doesn’t. i’ve been reading through and appreciating the conversation/feedback about this. in case anyone is worried i disappeared, i just lurk.

Restricted building problem

We’re going to remove the flower in the Keyhole. We wouldn’t have banned anyone for building there, but it’s easy enough to remove the flower and remove the worry.

We don’t intend to bring back the speed of the spear heavy attack - making it faster than the light attack again, but I do want to talk about the core reason you want that attack back. Player speed is insanely high in Exiles. I think it’s one of the biggest design mistakes we made in terms of PvP, and because we have a hardcore community of players on both the PvP and PvE side, we can’t easily change it. Will workers sleep in respawn points?

you can’t lock them up in the initial release, but it’s something we want to add. this applies to things like emotes, and manually placing them in a crafting station too. we feel that if you tell them to go somewhere, they should stay there until you free them to move on their own.

And that’s just the posts Dennis made in September - he also interacted several times in August and previously. And that’s just the head guy for CE - maybe others have posted recently as well and I just didn’t notice.

There’s plenty about this game that I’m deeply p*ssed off about (to the point of having uninstalled), and certainly communication is not and has not been great and, as @CodeMage has pointed out, it does seem overall to be worse than before or at least no better, despite semi-regular assurances that it would improve. But I cannot think of a single other game studio where such a senior figure has willingly and repeatedly stuck their head into the lions den and that deserves credit.
