Incredibly bad lag. Dying from enemies that literally never render. This is my first time playing since the Siptah update destroyed by base earlier than it should have, and it’s genuinely miserable to play. Is anyone else having these issues? I’m considering deleting at this point it’s so bad on PS4 now.

Yeah it is slow at times, but Ive heard the next update should include optimations for PS4 which hopefully improves the situation.

Rendering is taking longer than it usually would. Have not run into invisible npc yet.

I’ve been chased by floating shields and died by I dont know what, probably crocs I couldn’t see twice now.

My wife and I got hit by npc outside of Sinners Refuge a few hours ago. Bit and pieces showed basically swung at my thralls invisible target.

I died to a group of invisible Imps. No audio, nothing on my screen. I died so fast I couldn’t even figure out what was happening. I’ve been chases several times by floating shields or axes that have no NPC ever render in.

Was tending map rooms and way stations on my server last night. Fortunately my thrall would react to them. So this was happening at various locations on the map. @Community.

i just died because i got stuck someone climbing up the wall to the obelisk at the mounds. i was skipping in place about 2 feet off the ground and died from fall damage mysteriously. then i got mauled by the white tiger because it didn’t render in at all until i was literally on top of it.
this game is unplayable right now.

The game for me was unplayable until I upgraded my stock hard drive to a Samsung 2TB EVO 870 SSD. Once I shelled out $250 for an SSD to put in my PS4 Pro, the game runs super smooth and loading screens after using a map-room (even online) literally takes less than 4 seconds. Even the texture rendering issues I once had have disappeared.
Should you have the inkling to do what I did, search on Amazon for Samsung EVO 870 2TB. To install the new drive do a Google search for “sony playstation new drive instructions” and use the official sony website’s instructions.

Seems like quite a lot of extra money and effort just to get a game running halfway smoothly…

Thanks for the info. My wife’s and I game has been running fairly well but if needed I will bump up our ps4,s not paying 1500 bucks for a ps5.

I did exactly that.
(1TB version) - the game still stutters and lags. a bit less than before, but still well within the range of “unpleasant experience”.
An internal SSD helps a tiny bit, but doesn’t solve the issues at all.
I think it is a bit misleading to suggest this would “fix Conan Exiles” (implying: it’s the users problem, and if they don’t upgrade their HDD then it’s their fault the game runs crap).
good for you that you can play this game again. But one solution for one person is not a general fix for all other players. (paradoxically even if they all have “the same” console).
Also it’s a very expensive workaround.

Well said. But “An internal SSD helps a tiny bit, but doesn’t solve the issues at all” is a contradiction. How can something help “a tiny bit” but not “at all”? 
I recently reported that the Stutter/Lag was back, and pretty bad at that. I never got a reply, but surely they would be aware of this already…

I have experienced super bad lag but mainly in the vaults. I was so nervous that I was going to disconnect because the lag was so bad. I have had more issues with randomly being disconnected from the server or being unable to log in as of recent. Constant issues with the thralls getting stuck in things where as I have to rescue them or disappearing before my very eyes. Not to mention every time I try to place a thrall it says “must be placed on walkable floor” when I am placing it on walkable floor with plenty of space surrounding them & no other thrall in the way. Oh also NPC that are invisible attacking me… that’s always fun. NPC falling from the sky, floating in the sky or halfway in the ground.
It’s playable but all I gotta say is don’t get too attached to ANYTHING. They definitely have some work to do. Currently as we speak I cannot log on. I am on NA Official server 8063 isle of siptah
Update: 2 days of grinding gone. Today one of my thrall started running off without being commanded & disappeared on the map. Next thing I know they aren’t even in my follower list so I presume they are dead but never received a notification. She was level 18 with top tier armor not to mention she was carrying the nemedian helmet that I grinded hours today to get. It’s been a real rough week. Hopefully they fix this.

I recently got an external SSD, that helped a significant amount. I needed it for other games as well, so it’s not too odious, for me.
However, in single player, I still encounter this issue quite a bit.
On the server I play on, not nearly as much. It’s still present, but resolved in just a couple of seconds rather than half a minute.
It’s taught me to always approach areas slowly and carefully.

"help a bit " is one thing. as in “alleviate the pain, but not fix the issues”.
“solve the issues” is another thing, as in “fixed, not there anymore”
For me the external ssd don’t help. No difference but maybe becouse I have the game on DVD or bluray or whatever this is?
