If they would do that then raiding would be dead. Because if you need minutes to place one vase down the defender could repair their whole base in this time. Nobody could ever raid a base this way.
This.
If I see a few people bringing up jars, I wouldn’t even stop them. Let them place one, and blow it myself. Then replace/repair the building area damaged and thus repeat until they ran out.
Its not a bad idea in a vacuum and on paper. But with how the game works now, it wouldn’t work without a ton of other changes.
Everyone’s best bet if they don’t want to switch servers is to be like the people they face and cause issues. Swallow the pride and do the meta. It makes no sense to play in a way that is detrimental on those servers. They’re meta based servers with settings and configurations designed for a certain way. And like biggcane55 said, its been this way since day 1. Its going to be that way on the last day.
Yeah survival mechanics no longer really exist . To be honest if you have a hanging and a bubble you should be ok offline
well when you can do 800 bombs in one day alone in few hours…yes balance of the game is totally broke due to what have been introduced in sorcery (including merchands) and insane rate of farming.
arrow, explosive, treb are doing more damage, all t3 wall are simply paper now (it has always been the case, but well it is now x4 more true.
and its becoming very hard to call conan a survival game now in actual state.
Another stupid mechanic. ![]()
Because Conan is not a survival game. It never was. It has survival elements that are transcernded mid game.
The rest you said: spot on.
Conan Exiles core game was aimed at PvP action (PvE kind of crept up on that original premise).
PvP on any open-world game attract those who want to have fun, and then those who deem fun along more abusive lines. Game rules are pretty much irrelevent - pack mentality happens in games too.
The battle rules in Conan Exiles have seen many changes over the years. Purges have been tweaked, and Surges adjusted. Who knows what Seiges will bring to the game (just start planning :))
All players have a choice to go to Offiial or Private Servers. Whether to go PvP, PvE, RP, etc.
Official servers are not moderated unless there’s a logged issue and FC step in.
Private servers (usually) have active Admins moderating things when they get out of control.
If there’s a bug or glitch in the game, LOG it. Same applies to ‘unwelcomed’ changes. If the changes are overbalanced in a player’s opinion, log a ticket. Keep it simple. Add some screenshots if applicable.
As @Taemien has listed above, if your playstyle prefers a 'nuke ‘em till they glow’ approach, find a server that suits that. If you want some more controlled gameplay, get together with like-minded and pick a server and then play it by example, moderating new-comers by squashing abuse-play, etc. It’s not hard. Then, when some glitch-players or abusive play arrives, well, it’s more easy to all band together to make them see the errors of their ways.
Otherwise, go find/setup private servers and run it like you want to where you set the rules - and have tools to enforce and moderate them as needed.
I understand privates have moderation. But let us be homest. Most “good” privatea are heavy rpg or biased to the point where rules are moderated with heavy favoritisn towards friends. And i am not saying that is wrong or roght, just a hard fact. Plus donation type p2w thru doscord donations have me avoid most every private pvp server because i wont suck up to the admin and owner. I have followed thier rules only to suddenly, after attacking thier donors, have the rules change.
it made me laugh to manage to take a base protected by a bubble of gods and loot everything in less than 10 minutes by being alone.
it has become ridiculous what is the point of building a good base? Between the ease of making explosives, the nerve of slaves and animals, it is better to hide everything in bodies than in the bases…
I spent a lot of time on this game and I’m very happy to have bought it, it is largely amortized, but the new updates mean that I no longer have fun playing it, so I take a break i am just connecting to refresh the base hoping for a miracle on the next update.

Plus donation type p2w thru doscord donations
[/quote]Vote with your feet. Although I have played on private servers where owners have asked players to contribute (fairly) to the rental of the servers, I would never play on a Donation to Play server - unless it really enhanced the game.
Ideally, the Admin needs to be completely in the background, only rearing its urgly head when players break the rules.
If it’s a PvP server, the Admin should either be the one setting things up and remaining in the non-partisan background or be a generic player with their Admin login a seperate thing for Admin-related interventions.
On PvE servers, Admins provide extra content and moderation when server rules are broken.
Admin guidelines should be along the lines of: make sure players are enjoying theyr gameplay. Players should have a channel to report likely issues and the Admin should have self-governing rules binding their own stuff.
On PvP, where Players could intentionally, or not, attack Admin creations that are for all Players on a server, well, the Server Rules should cover that and where that breaches the rules, the Player pays the price. Not hard to do. All too often though Admins get bored and then start messing about. It happens and it is regrettable.
On PvE the Admins usually have Damage to Player stuff set Off. This saves time, but then means the Admins have to do a lot more housekeeping to keep the servers from becoming cluttered by abandoned bases. But, those criteria should be in the Server Rules and players all accept/Reject on entry to servers. If they breach the rules, well…Crom ain’t so forgiving.
On some servers Admins have imaginative ways of dealing things. Large bases may start attracting bandits or loot-hungry creatures. Abandoned bases may start falling to bits and plunderers may kick in doors and move in - opening the way for other players to wander about with deep pockets. Other bases will eventiually decay away. None of this works (for now) on Official. If it were up to me, Decay would start and there would be a week or three of Plunderers moving in and then bandits and creatures, before some swine leaves a campfire on and the place burns down.
The Admin sets the Rules for their servers. They should then stick to their rules as fairly as possible, without showing favouritism, etc.
well it has been sold in saying : build, explore, survive
and survive was one of the element (for pvp server
)
No. It’s survive, build, dominate. Conan is not a survival game in its strict sense. It has survival elements that don’t encapsulate all that the game is, @azaroth .
Slight correction: It had survival elements ![]()
Now those mechanics are just a sorry irrelevant shade ![]()
well seem the same for the most 2 important point:) , MarcosC have you ever played on pvp server ? because when farming x1 on pvp server i can assure you it was a survival game on pvp server, especially when it was taking so long to do steelfire, or steel reinf or even bomb, was also the time when each armorer were allowing to craft different armor linked to their culture, and when t4 were offering saving on material to craft (and not the workbench) and of others things that have been erased (simply)
but for other game mode yeah i can agree, anyways even in pvp it is no more a survival game. and sadly neither no challenge to raid, or no challenge to recover from a raid (in fact you can get in less time sutffs in farming than in raiding (knowing raiding is time to prepare, time to do, time to move loot, time to sort out loot).
so well problem…
Yes, all too easy.
I won’t disagree @azaroth . There’s a lot of stuff in pvp that wasn’t well thought.
I just play pvp to fight. I wish I could deepen it, but… well, being the game as it is, I don’t find the base raiding/building appealing.
But the issue that pvp can’t even agree which parts are value added or not? We all agree fighting is the goal but of that was the case, why the base damage? DBD was supposed to be a solution but comes with a deeper cost since the system can be prone to abuse and they didn’t want to get full on accounts and having to comply with regulations for privacy.
There are certain things you need to do to stop abuses that they aren’t willing to commit to and the pvp player base isn’t on the same page. This turns pvp into a wild west anything goes that eventually turns into a toilet as the lowest playstyle dominates. This permeates officials and turns off new players and we get into the state we are
I agree they wanted pvp but they didn’t want the work that comes with it
Agree, @erjoh . But game design flaws are, in my opinion, the main issue. All stems ftom there. In Portugal we have a saying: “A ocasião cria o ladrão”. It means the opportunity creates the thief. The design flaws create the way pvp is played. Why? Because you can.
This would just nerf jars into the ground. People would switch to expo + poison arrows and spam bases down like this instead.
The only thing that is OP with jars is the distance you can place them.
You can actually do that with a mod.
