All polls will always have a bias to some extent. Polls should never be used as the only reason to do anything (as with all data collection). They should be part of multiple data inputs. Then usurp info of general consensus and understand there is always a +/- associated because not everyone will vote. But for discussion purposes, nothing gets the conversation going in a direct fashion better than a poll.
It makes someone make a definitive choice. And minimizes the fence walkers that can make decisions for a group more work than they need be.
Ex:.
With a group of friends, i have had countless times where we say lets go to lunch together. We ask an open ended question âWhere do you want to go?â. Majority say donât care, and then its an endless cycle of weeding out what they really want. But if you ask, hey I am going to either Choice A or Choice B, do you wanna go?" It makes them say choice A, Choice B, or i am not going. When i asked the question , i had a bias of the 2 choices, but still got a definite answer from the group so i could move on.
Wipe any of the servers Ive spent a year building, and I will seek you out at PAX and kick you in the shin.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, Steam sucks.
A better solution would be to have the oldest active player be the moderator on official servers.
This would cull the rif-raf.

Further evidence this poll should be shut down. Polls are scientific instruments. I know we live in a post-truth world, but polls should present data with no bias. You are simply helping make decisions for the clearly absent leadership in Community Management.

yep, and the best part is it can be recycled at 75% a clip.
Maybe wipe is a strong word. We need a lore purge of sorts. The same catacalysm that ended Kullâs Thurian age could happen to all servers. One that goes 24/7 for 1 straight week. It will be relentless. You can stay on and fight it, and if your structures survive, then you truly are dedicated to your hoard of vaults

This right here betrays your feelings about people who have actually earned their âhoard.â I donât have a dog in this fight. My existence on a PvP server is 3 weeks old tomorrow. A spring breeze. A few pages of the serverâs long history. Legitimate players will be hurt the most. Isnât their loot more valuable than some ephemeral band-aid that wonât fix the underlying issues of mesh and dupe? Without those fixed, we will simply repeat ourselves.
Wipe all Temples. Wipe all Coins. Wipe all Priests.
What my topless Set priest tooâŚ

I would make an exception. Forgot about the fact we donât see those anymore. Dang.
If you do a follow-up poll, perhaps an option to explore interest in Seasonal Official servers might be informative. i.e. Is there any overlap between someoneâs preference in the OP polls vs what theyâd think about playing on a seasonal server?
(No clue if the OP can be edited to include an additional poll to this effect.)
I am all for a thread that has other ideas.
What is âearnedâ and what is not earned is subjective. I am only putting forth an opportunity for people to cast an opinion and get a vote. This poll is for discussion. If it morphs into something Funcom uses to make a decision, i trust that it must have really tilted one way or the other. If it remains a 50/50 split (as it pretty much is) then i doubt they will change anything.
And i understand the peopel with the most to lose will undoubtably be agianst wipes. But there in lies the problem. Many of my gaming friends who were waiting for the game to correct alot of the severe lag issues now wonât play because they see the imbalance of loot and feel they will never be able to fully enjoy the online fighting. Log on and level for 3 days, old clan decides to wipe you with there excess mats. IF you survive first wave, and hit back, they can rebuild without putting a dent in thier stash. My fear is the game will die off without a constant flow of the casual gamers (more so on console due to no possible modding) and i will be left never feeling like it got a fair shake to be along term game for me and others with limited gaming time to play.
I have actually taken a vacation from Officials for about 1 month because of this. I thought privates would save me, but hard to find a non 10x server that is not full RP. So now i play some Warhammer to get my sword swinging out of my system here and there. Just not fun to try and have any pvp because with the large stashes, people are uber-aggressive towards anyone who just wants some fun raiding. And i tell any of my casual gaming friends who are thinking of buying CE, that they are either going to be greifed by old rich clans, or have no fighting because most PVP have become docile wastelands. so they pass on getting the game. And i donât feel bad about it

Barnes, no one on PvE wants wipes⌠at least no one that I know. itâs a PvP request that we PvE players feel the need to say we donât want, since itâs likely to be an all-or-nothing affair if it ever happened.

Fine, and spoken like a console player. Some of us go really far back to when there was actual honor and potential coexistence on a server. A time when solos could come on and prove their mettle against a dominant clan or player, or make deals and form alliances. With rulesets and consequences. There are Official servers like that now. You can choose to come on as a rogue, or as a valuable component in keeping it clean and fair. Or somewhere in-between, shadowy even. For every established malevolent clan in the PS4 world, there are twice as many benevolent ones on the less tumultuous PC servers. This is actual surveyed data from friends and subscribers. This could be a Golden Age, or it could be the Stone Age. Iâve survived official wipes, canât say they were fun.

not available for Console. And that is where i choose to play (because 90% of my job is already mouse and keyboard. data scrubbing). And many other do as well, especially light casual gamers who want 1-2 hours of fun awith some strategy involved (not fortnite, etc⌠spray and prays), and not deal with grief and pseudo politics all the time.
Thus my issues are this is just another fly by night game on consoles, but could have had so much more potential to bring in huge player base.
Problem is, they wonât buy new servers, they would have to convert.
What is the criteria for which servers get converted? Laggiest Server? Server that has the most reported issues? Server pop? But what if those 2-3 players log in every day for 4-5 hours? Is it fair they get wiped. Is it the âas long as it is not meâ ideology?
Problem is, i have seen empty servers go full pop overnight, and vice versa. What window do they use. And based on your answer, its the as long as its not me ideology, or majority rules. Not judging, just stating fact. And if it is majority rules, then how is that different than if a vast majority want wipes of some sort?
Looking at the results, i am starting to be converted to Server Jumping, but only with your level and recipes, no mats of any sort. This would balance out people who are leaving dead servers to start a new, with less grind. They would only need to get there first few mats to build up. Maybe restrict it from region to region. IE, i need a level 60 character in the same region and i can jump to any other official in that region. Character would have the same name as well. And an option defaulted to on for officials, off for private servers. And an option to port my SP player over to a friends for COOP.
Not another one of these discussionsâŚeveryone needs to suffer for pvpâŚblah blah blahâŚit happened to many times before this game went liveâŚyea I have been here since the first day anyone could buy this great gameâŚPC btwâŚthat is what will happen, funcom WILL wipe EVERYONEâŚthere are some great points, donât get me wrong, but unless funcom doesnât group everyone togetherâŚsomeone is getting phu ked!
Us veterans have been through it.I will admit funcom has gotten better since launch. Maybe just maybe, they would wipe just pvp, cause logically thatâs the only servers that would need itâŚoh yeah we had servers that had monthly wipes and no one played themâŚ

Server jumpiing? Are you mad?? That is a huge Pandoraâs Box. You might as well call it clean up on isle 2. Large clans that dominate a server to death would love nothing more than to spam over to another server and do it again. At level 60 with friends it wouldnât take long at all to get a ton of mats and start tearing things up. You might as well put the final nail in the coffin for solo PVPers. No server jumping, please.

Do they not have PvP blitz servers?
I understand how a wipe of PVP servers makes sense for the sake of game balance, but on second thought donât think I should vote my assumptions for other types of game play. I would change my vote to no wipes at all.
