Returning PS4 player, was farming fragments with my clan in the unnamed city, 5 of us with 5 thralls (lians & cim berserkers of various level) 3 of us ended up getting separated from the other 2, a solo player and his thrall rode out of nowhere and had me dead within a few hits, I was pvp build. He was able to kill 4 of us while one made it out with some loot, he then killed two of our thralls while they were defenseless while on scouting (BECAUSE THAT MAKES SENSE)
How is one player on a horse able to be this overpowered? Felt like I couldn’t even react. Mounts should just be limited to travel because they broke pvp . . Every time I try to get into this game it has some broken feature or bug that ruins it all. Not to mention how poorly it runs on PS4.
Mounted combat broke many armies, it’s why cavalry exist. If you try to take on cavalry in the open, they’ll ride right over you. It’s like trying to take on a tank with a 9mm pistol.
If infantry goes up against cavalry, the best thing to do is take cover in confined spaces and break out your bow.
Ironically the changes won’t help the OP in his situation. I’m calling it now (actually I called it before), the ones asking for nerfs will not be happy with the changes. Even though the requests that were reasonable were granted.
Rough night. What you need is the 2020 Heavy Meta Kit.
Standard Weapons were and still are the “Ancient Lemurian Axe” and “Dragonbone Spear” or “Ancient Lemurian Trident” with master weapon fittings. Beastmaster Teimos are good meat shield/ archers who level quickly. Horses with scout saddles are very popular because of their maneuverability. Lances and Asura’s Glory typically a must. Set potion, Numbing Wraps, Roasted Haunch, and Herbal Tea also a must. Extensive training or sparing recommended.
Edit: You can mix up the str and vit pieces if you wish. I know some people like the guardian butt flaps.
Very good player. You can see later in the clip how he gets dismembered by random players using horses. It’s a good proof on why horses are broken.
Start to watch at 1:44:00
But it’s not long until they finally reduce the damage done from horseback. Because right now horse players using right click with spear do 2x the damage with bleed every hit.
@Kagarin ,You are playing on PS4 so take these hints and the mounters will frighten you so much that they may not ever attack you again .
1 . Go to the skeleton boss and farm silken wraps , they instantly stop bleeding so you can heal before he manage to come back .
2 . Always carry any food and herbal tea . Consuming any food (exotic meat I carry) combinated with herbal tea , you heal very fast .
3 . Set antidotes , PvP without them makes no sense .
4 . Four perks on strength , your damage will be noticed .
5 . Venom infused axe and daggers , when he is running to you , start running to him too and charge your first heavy attack from the distance you can understand that you will hit him or his horse , if you manage to land a second hit too , believe me he will understand it , then without running go behind him , so he will not have time to take distance for charge , if he is stupid enough to come back with the horse then they will both die , if he will dismount then charge light attacks with the daggers , he will have to dodge and cure him self , trade to axe again with heavy attacks and finish him .
Don’t forget , mounters are noob chickens so probably he will run away .
Maces work better for thralls IMO. And also, make a Midnight Potion and keep it in the horses inventory. Works well when you need to make a quick getaway
Yea, im tired of the “oh just climb up on something” people, or the “just carry palisades” crap. Those are not effective counters to someone that is speeding/lagging on a horse all over the place. There are not always places to go run and hide like a coward (which is why these people like horses) and land claim prevents placing down palisades.
Im glad they are removing the 2x damage but it needs BALANCING as well, such as a using the lance as a ground player to stop a charging horseman.
Personally id like horses to be nothing more than for travel BUT I also realize im not the only person playing this game, so if that wont happen then there needs to be official counters to a horseman, like having a use for a lance while on foot. (Horse defenders want to talk about realism, well this was a similar tactic used by foot soldiers against horsemen) No one should be able to do what that guy did to the Original poster.
I dont wanna see “git gud” comments either, because if you were “good” you would fight on foot, which is what took actual skill. Man, I miss those days…
I like the idea of planting a long pointy pole in the ground held down by your foot to impale horses. Would also be interesting for some of the larger boss’s
It’s always hilarious when people argue about the historical role of cavalry and the realism of mounted combat, but they’re perfectly fine with munching down some insects to recover from an arrow to the head.
