How so negative nancy? Keep in mind flying mounts can be shot down by archers and to use them offensively you still have to craft an expensive arial explosive jar barrage. Once they die they are gone and they require food and have limited stamina when not used for flight travel between ports.
(btw Everquest had mounts just not flying mounts)

Though I do love fixed long travel such as the ships and would not mind fixed location, AI travel so much such as hopping a ride on the mentioned caravan between point A and B. But I’ll never enjoy mounted exploration. I am a gatherer at heart and always leave the mounts behind since I cannot stand constantly dismounting and mounting in order to gather and gathering from atop a mount seems far too unrealistic to me.

Oh and add me to the “No freaking flying mounts in Conan Exiles” club. I’m not just a member. I’m also the president.

yeah. i agree flying mounts would be way too op. maybe i would be okay with it if it was part of the sorcery system or if you have to beat the whole game (they’re adding an ending) to even obtain one. otherwise, no thank you. castles have walls for a reason, show me one ancient castle that had a flak tower :joy:

How about simple camel to make some caravans or horse to ride from spot to spot and carry a little bit stuff with you and nothing else … i don’t like when everyone ask for everything after that u still would want more. this is not ARK this is CONAN and if u want ark go play ark and tame everything…

Do you really think that’s good idea ? fly over , jump down , kill archers and make raid 10x faster and easier , how about NO?

You see that’s the problem. If Conan can’t add innovative features then all the players go to ARK. The goal is to attract those players from ARK to CONAN and make more money. If the Devs do not add any new innovative features after launch this game will die I assure you. Do not limit your mind with beliefs or emotions. Those who think outside the box are the ones that accomplish great things.
So now imagine instead that big castles archers actually shoot an arrow at the correct ballistic speed(Conan might be too slow I don’t know Skyrim did a good job) and now flying over the archers becomes a challenge. If you are at a farther range you can drop a barrage but are still at risk of being shot small chance by the AI and if there are players defending skilled archers can shoot the barrage or place a bullseye shot at the heart of the flying mount.
It would be nice if there were critcial hit points on animals based on their weakpoints so hunting with a bow you can aim with the bow sights and possible land a instant kill with a bullseye at the heart or brain.(Depending on animal and thickness of skull or placement of heart or vitals.)

Land mounts are possible if the map is reworked with smaller units of distance.

Joel Bylos has already stated in a Dev Live Stream from last year that “The map is to small for flying mounts. They will never be in the game.” I may not have quoted him verbatim since it was said a long time (months) ago.

Hmm I understand the map is a bit small and maybe land mounts is just enough. So in that case if launch is successful enough why not release DLCs of an entire extension to the map raising max cap level and adding new tier, mining nodes, and items. The development team should look into SpatialOS to allow an expansion of max player cap and map size as well as increased server performance.

yo dude you just simply want more before even getting anything done , wait for full release , then start speaking about all of that , just calm down ,play some vanilla conan exiles that they prepared for us and maybe u will change your mind , just wait and see . I understand the hype and ideas but come on , grab other game for now and just don’t think about any of that , come back 8th and play the full version :slight_smile:

i would also dislike flying mounts in this game, there is nothing innovative about it, its already in a ton of mmo´s and other games, its already in ark so why transport the same formula to this game. war rhinos and war elephants would maybe look cool, but there is already god summon that fills that role, trebuchet and other stuff. there is also a bearer thrall in the game to carry goods and teleport room to get around quicker. i for myself would
love to be able to ride a bearer thrall with clapping coconut sound :smile:

I have over 660 hours in Conan my dude. Of course these are just suggestions which won’t make it into the game for another couple of months but valid suggestions on where the game should move towards.
If I’m going to be brutaly honest although the progess conan has made is good and quite a bit it is a bit slow at times and I can see a game being released that surpasses this game in gameplay by the time this game is very well developed. Although I hope that is not true and Conan exceeds my expectations.

When I started playing last February on official servers pretty much all high level players did was raid lower level players.
It didn’t matter what level if you didn’t build an inaccessible base, when you logged back in, the door would be kicked in and all your twigs and berry’s gone. there were people that all they did was greif low levels.

I was raided 6 times in the first month, before I learned how to build.

You’re now talking about adding new mechanical systems to justify implementing a singular asset.

My argument stands: keep this type of Quality-of-Life thrall out of player hands, or in a standalone mod. Not every player has the grit to be a server merchant, and it should stay that way.

.After reading through the op’s comments it basically boils down to this “If the devs don’t do exactly what i think they should the game will die”. The amount of arrogance in his posts is absurd. The game does NOT need to have mounts of any kind for it to be good.

It’s called Game Design 101. Reward players for their actions have their actions reward the player. This cycle has to repeat and if you can have it repeat after end game you’ve got yourself a continuous playable game. End game right now is kill all bosses, big clan base big clan, raid the server, have server attempt to raid you, have hackers steal your stuff. Quit game. Trust me I’ve been through it twice.

at this point you’ve crossed the threshold and brought both mounts and necromancy to this thread
in that you’re now beating a dead horse.

Dev’s have stated flying mounts are never going to happen.
regular mounts could and probably will happen eventually

Player owned merchants, who knows?
I think it would be either more trouble than it’s worth, or another version of an auction house.
This isn’t an MMO

The game you’re describing? there are a thousand MMO’s just like it, and they’re all dying.

Player merchants are something I have been hoping for. It may never happen but it is vital for asynchronous transactions. For RP severs it can mean making a player run town truly come to life.
