That is a typical what we call âstrawmanâ argument. It is lazy and without any class, and isnât going to convince ANY pve players to try pvp. Youâre only shooting yourself in the foot and scaring more people away. People like you are the garbage of the pvp community that turned it onto sh*t in the first place.
Now if you donât have anything valuable to add to this discussion, I suggest you refrain from derailing this topic again. Maybe search up how to âsteelmanâ an argument so that you can actually attain some credibility.

- How do you want to know that I did not try PvP? I tried it many times always with the same conclusion. PvP in AoC sucks mostly because of the toxic community.
- I play other PvP games, but I like AoC PvE. I paid years of premium gametime which should be used for content and maintenance, but donât get new content I can enjoy.
You donât have to âlick my goochâ to convince me, but being toxic and flaming people wonât convince anyone.
Work on your attitude buddy, maybe someone wants to play with you then.

I tried doing PvP lots of times, during none of them it was fun because it was either:
- people throwing the match (saying âYeah Iâm AFK, we wonât winâ and then stand at Rez or hide in some corner) because they had a low geared / low PvP level member in the team or disliked someone on the other team
- people actively griefing by either blatantly cheating (instantly capping the flag several times by teleporting for example, these idiots use the cheats even in PvE) or disrupting the game with exploits (being inside a wall) or just not helping the team (running around without doing anything or being AFK)
- getting absolutely destroyed and farmed because there is no real way to fight back as someone who is new to PvP, gear difference is just insane in PvP
- getting constantly flamed in the group chat during a match
See what I wrote above. Might be fun for a few toxic people to sh*t on new players and flame or grief all day but to me thats just not worth my time.
See the above, flaming constantly. Sure there are cheaters, I have seen them myself, but many of the cheat accusations are just âsalty tearsâ. Even I got accused of cheating. With my Sin sitting at something like 400 kills and 900 deaths at PvP level 4. Many of those self proclaimed PvPers just donât like losing and go on a 24 hours rant in global and the next mini games after getting killed once.
There is a reason why even people outside of AoC who have played before dislike PvP in this game or wouldnât even try it because all they hear about it is whiny PvP kids that have to throw insults left and right because they lost or something didnât go the way they wanted. All that combined with the incredibly unbalanced gameplay creates this amazing environment that most people just hate.

+1 And its quite tiring to hear this constant rant that Aoc PVErs dont like the general idea of pvp. I play cs (competetively in the past), ow and other pvp games every day but age of conan minis is just the least competetive pvp envirememt out there. Just the fact that it doesnt make sure both sides have a healer is a big fat joke. And I dont even have to mention that half of the pvp-base is dedicated grief trolls. The only pvp i could think to myself of trying is Fury levelup but atm im happy with the other games i pvp in.

PvP is what you make of it. now personally Iâm taking a break from Age of Conan PVP because even in the PVP level up community itâs become too toxic even for my liking. Generally speaking I can deal with PVP trolls, but when weâre all on voice chat together and the toxicity comes out there, Well then itâs a whole another story and things can get heated and unpleasant.
The key to fun and enjoyable PVP for all is simply good sportsmanship and having mutual respect for your fellow players. Throwing hissy fits and tantrums like most children seem to do simply drives players away. Like me!
Iâm currently enjoying PVP in the World of Warcraft and I have to say itâs not bad.
Hell, I canât even get volunteers to help me film my series to help promote this game, Even on Crom! Iâm convinced people just donât care anymore if this game dies. We all know Funcom doesnât care.
Itâs been fun.
