Let’s not forget how much “fun” this was last time.
Remember waiting to get out of ban jail for the sin of trying to give Funcom money?
https://forums.funcom.com/t/still-banned-keep-track-here/246297
What I am wondering on top of everything else:
Are there measures in place to fix it globally?
As in, if a customer did not submit a ticket for “insert reason”, were those/will they be addressed?
Additionally, what of those who purchased again to get out of the ban? Were/will they be refunded for the duplicate if they do not submit a ticket?
What are the ways that they’re going to ensure this does not happen again? There was 2023 and scattered reports for 2 years since, up to this event?
There are so many ways I could express how I feel about it but I fear that getting accurate will only lead to a ban so I’ll say it this way.
Something something, fail to learn history something something repeat.
At the end of the day money was involved and impacted.
It’s mind boggling that this has happened again. Fortunately, since I’ve started buying less from FC, I didn’t get nailed in this latest round of nonsense. But I do feel bad for everyone that has.
I guess the wisest thing to do is not to log in for now.
All I have to say is, considering that this happened once before, why the hell is anyone still spending money on this game? I mean come one already.
The sin is expecting things to go differently THIS TIME!
Does Funcom put measures in place…
That was all, there was nothing more to add to that sentence. ![]()
Actually I think it is rather expected to be honest.
Sad, yes. Disturbing, yes as well. But expected.
I do as well. I do not want anyone to have to experience this. BUT they should have seen it coming. ![]()
I do think this was a “final straw” moment for me. I literally took down my favorable review on Steam from 2017 and replaced it with a negative one. I’ve pretty much had it with these people. I’ll play on private modded servers for as long as those last but I see zero reason to ever give Funcom another dime after this fiasco. We, the players, have tried again and again to help them. We’ve told them what many players want, things that will add longevity to the game and items we’d be willing to pay for. Like, can you believe there’s STILL not any specifically CIMMERIAN content on the cash shop? Y’know, that culture freakin’ CONAN comes from? And that’s just ONE suggestion I’ve seen multiple times. Instead they are literally giving us retreads of content they’ve already put out just with different skins. I’ve been a cheerleader (AND a sharp critic, it must be admitted) for this game since before early access. It PAINS me to see what has become of it and the utter contempt and silence players are greeted with when we try so hard to help them. Let’s not forget the open letter to Rui Casis (whose name I’ve probably misspelled) that was slaved over for months by a dedicated group of people giving both encouragement and asking questions… and that has been 100% ignored.
Yeah I still have a few Crom coins on my account. But they represent the last I’ll buy, short of a miracle. And I ain’t holdin’ my breath for that.
While I have sympathy for the players who are getting ripped off, this is of their own making.
There is an old adage that goes:
Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
How many times does a friendly looking dog have to bite you, before you decide that playing with that dog is probably not a good idea.
Funcom have done this before. Funcom will do it again.
Fyi:
The issue, this time, is different, I believe.
Previously, we got banned the second the sale ended.
Now we get banned if we spend any of our sale base Crom Coins.
Is the next iteration us getting banned for opening the bazaar?
The common denominator on both cases is buying crom coins during a sale period. Regardless of when the ban happened, it is BECAUSE of the crom coins purchased during the sale on both cases. It is blatantly obvious that Funcom is incapable of implementing a system that is able to safely provide their customers with safe products at a sale price that will not result in said customers getting banned for partaking in said offered sale. So it really does fall upon the person who is gullible enough to actually trust Funcom to safely provide them with a product (in this case crom coins) at a sale price that will NOT result in repercussions on behalf of the paying customer.
It may sound harsh, and as I said before I do sympathize with those who have been unjustly banned for this, but if you already knew about the last sale on crom coins and the resulting fiasco and still chose to partake in this one … well… ![]()
Fair point.
Funcom, loves to punish you for buying from them.
Wonder how much their “monetization expert” got paid for this little gem of feature.
If I have this wrong I’m sure someone will correct me.
The problem arises from Funcoms accounting system not being able to distinguish between the Crom coins that are bought legally on sale, and when someone instructs their bank to reverse a payment that they have made to buy Crom coins.
Funcoms present system sees the $ value of the sale coins received being less than the standard price so decides “it must be fraud, ban them”.
Funcom say “it may be related to a recently updated third-party service”. That may indeed be the case, but Funcom are still legally responsible for all ‘third parties’ they employ.
I don’t know what Funcoms excuse was for the previous ‘Crom coin sale’ problem but it’s irrelevant anyway. It has now happened at least twice.
When a retailer runs out of hot water bottles in the middle of Winter, excuses don’t keep your feet warm.
Thoughts for the future. If players legally buy Crom coins on sale, will they have to stop playing until Funcom fix the same ‘banned’ problem again, or will Funcom fix this problem once and for all NOW.
That his happened once, was aggravating. That this happened twice… is just sad. Funcom, please get your sh… together.
Yeah, ban random people who did nothing wrong. Funcom is like the only company I know that players let off the hook like this. I dont really know how we continuously put up with this kind of shit.
Because there is no other game like it. Its both sad and great at the same time.
My intention is not to poke the Bear here.
@Oduda
“Why are people spending their hard earned $ on this game”.
@Smoketreader
“Because there is no other game like it. Its both sad and great at the same time”.
I agree with you both. This game is a two edged sword.
Reading your duo dialogue piqued my interest.
Read this post.
I found it fascinating because it showed that although we all play the same game, we all play it so differently.
A problem for one is not necessarily a problem for all. But just because a problem doesn’t affect me, doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect others.
Crom coins are just one of thousands of problems with this game.
Just food for thought.
Oh I agree, which is why I still play it. It is the reason I purchased every culture pack dlc and the siptah expansion when it came out. But the BLB? Nope. And the sale crom coins AFTER what happened the last time they went on sale? Hell no!

Try to recreate sessions on your single player and make it your issue too . Many game breaking bugs appeared to me only this way .
About the issue now …
