Passive health regen is extremely passive

You can simply do the math (the x2 comes from the receptive vitality perk): herbal tea [120x2=240hp] + roasted haunch [80x2=160hp] + aloe extract [33%x2= 503x0.66= 332hp] + lifebloodspear [im not sure
exacly, so lets say 100x2=200hp] = 932 hp in 10 sec

On the video i had 1/3 of my max hp which mean i needed to heal 2/3 of my max hp(=332hp)
So 332x10/932=3,56 secondes.

To heal 332Hp, it should take 3.6=~4secondes. This theorical result is in agreement with my experimental result. Keep in mind i used the 4th vitality perk as a x2 but it’s actually a x2,25 multiplier. As such, the regen from the lifeblood spear is certainly lower than the number i used in my demonstration.

I hope you’re joking ^^ I don’t see how it is hard when you can easely get a +10 from different sources. And since you you will probably ask how is that possible, here is an example: vitality warpaint(+3) + a potion(+3) +silent legion gauntlet (+2) + vermin hide pants and boots(+2).

An example of Pve loadout:

of PvP loadout:

Moreover, i didnt count other possible bonus from armors.

Etc. There was no need for the prolonged explanation. What I was trying to convey in the previous post is that I saw the video, took your word for it, and stated you found a solid method. There is no need for us to delve into that matter any further.

The way you presented this was either done haphazardly, and has unintentionally skewed the context, or was purposefully and manipulatively taken out of context to serve an agenda. Either way, I will clarify for yourself and other readers. There are two parts/seperate points being presented here. The first is:

In other words, I could and indeed will use it at times which I deem necessary. However, and now the second is:

“Default loadout” does not include bonus stats added in by armour, potions, warpaints, etc.

Yes I am acutely aware that it is possible to elevate ones stats using the methods which both yourself and myself mentioned. However for the record, I often tend to invest those bonuses into Strength instead. This will tie into your images of PvP and PvE (default) loadouts, for which I must have missed the point. While interesting, neither really apply to myself, as I have stated on numerous occasions that I am a Offline Singleplayer only; never anything else. As such, my Attributes look like something of a hybrid of each, but different. Just so I can put it all on the table, here is my current, main default loadout:

Now I am genuinely hoping that we can discuss this in a civil and constructive manner, without either ridicule or insisting ‘…oh my way is better’. Each perk I have, I have for a reason.

Any bonuses are often applied to Strength, so as to take it up to the second perk, Salting the Wound. I cant have it both ways at once. And it is just not (for me personally) worth the LARGE points investment to have Receptive as part of my default loadout. The average npc, not including World Bosses, etc just arent challenging enough to justify having it as my standard; I would have to relinquish two of my other perks in order to do so.

Yeah that’s logical? How is that a counter-argument though? You saw in my example that i didnt have it by default too.

Well that’s your mistake then. If i base my expertise on your loadout, getting a x2.25 heal multiplier is still better than a +25% dmg.

It doesn’t tie at all, you’re playing in one game mod while i play in all. My builds are focus on enhancing a specific aspect/goal of the game whereas yours is more of a “general”/“use in any situation” build:
-My pve build maximise my efficienty at farming while keeping a strong surviability and Dps.
-In my pvp build, or when you’re fighting players (it’s not a raid build) you don’t need to farm at all or carry heavy loads but being as deadly, tanky and durable as possible thus why the changes in my loadout. It’s pretty much self-explanetory.

Your actual build could be improved though: For example, do you know how much armor does iron hard muscles in grit gives? A flat +15armor. So the points you used to reach the third perk in grit would be more valuable if you added them in your strength since you could have all the time salting wound and use foods/bonus to reach the third strength perk.

And if you’re just using all the time your main default loadout without buffs, etc, again, it’s on you.

Ps: i would highly advise you to learn more about the atributtes and their subtilities, because farming without any points in survivals is ridiculous.

Not sure jumping in here is appropriate, but …

Different strokes for different folks.

The complexity of the build system is intended so people can choose what playstyle they like, and nothing is best. Like life, there are no perfect solutions, just choices.

I learned a lot from reading this, thanks, but it’s futile to convince someone to adopt particulars about attribute choices. On the other hand, the detailed information in here is priceless.

TLDR: stop poking the bear, guys.

Regards

jim

Sure, the most important is the pleasure you have play it, and depends lot the style we enjoy.

I know some will not agree, and have this or that builds for this or that specific situation. That’s fine to.
Anyway, as long there are potions to swap easily when wished or needed, there is no really a build option for good, all can be changed all the time.
I think for my next server-setup, i’ll include a mod to remove all these fancy noisy potions ! :smiling_imp:

Couldn’t agree more with all of you! Both ways have their own strong and weak points. The versatility makes it just more enjoyable!

Agreed, the survival perks don’t add a high percentage, just really save strikes/durability.

Grit also ties into stamina, so in PVP, stamming out is the #1 no-no for me. But again, styles may differ. I agree with Crom in that depending on tattoos and potions to achieve the build is not generally smart, as you have to insure you have all that ready in a moments notice if you die for any reason. It is great if you stock pile the stuff, but what happens if they cathc you on the end of the potion timers etc… so i always suggest to build without armor and potions in mind, then add those as bonus cherries on top type things.

You literraly farm twice faster with hard worker.

As for the third perk : Reddit - Dive into anything

You’re wrong, i don’t need to notice, as i use it all the time. They never catch me without it, it’s simple as that. And even if they catched me without it, I would still have the same surviability as you do all the time since i would be at the third vitality perk.

It is much more precise and you’re way more prepared if you take into account a maximum of parameters instead of taking the least of them.

Exacly it depends if the player used his brain or not! Why would you choose to enhance the quantity of ressources gathered on corpses and multiply by 2 the speed at which you gather ressources on nods? What’s the point? :upside_down_face:

Hey everybody,

It’s exciting to see this back and forth bringing up so many valid points, but we would like to remind again for everybody to be nice and civil to each other no matter their point of view.
Also, since this was initially a thread to report an issue and it has evolved in a whole discussion about many mechanics, would you mind if we send this thread to the General Discussions sub-forum instead so more people can join in and share their opinion about this matter?

Thanks

That’s fine… As long as it doesn’t get swept under the unstable Stygian carpet.

Any word on a fix/re-balance?

that is all slightly true, but brecause i can sprint between targets 2-3 seconds faster, it nullifies strike time a lot more than you think. Me and a clan mate tested this, and the yields and time were not drastic enough for me to warrant losing stamina bar points. But again, different strikes for different people. Just wanted to point out that everything you do in farming counts toward the time, not just 1 aspect. If i could stand still in one exact area, then yes, it is 2 times as fast. but i don’t, i run between points to get mats, and get home, etc. probably spend more time moving than striking mats. And killing, if without a thrall i have to re-stam if the area is higher tier. So alot of numbers there, and the cons outweigh the pros for me personally.

for the 1st part about never getting caught…
oc

for the 2nd, i will usw real life example. I am a manager…whn not on this forum  … and i always tell my crew that do not budget on OT, as my job is to find the most effecient way to do things, and OT is will go away if it affects budget. The last thing a person needs is to have created a personal budget to pay bills, credit cards, etc that includes OT, but it is not always guaranteed. OT should be for fun or savings. That is how i look at potions and tattoos. They allow me to have more fun, but if need be, i can survive without.

Again, i appreciate your opinions and feed back, and i always try to take some knowledge from other play styles. it is how i adapt to survive. I forever believed in 4 str. Got into a friendly war, and now use a hybrid from the guys i learned from. Not necesarily meta, but always trying to be a step ahead.

Are you saying the surviability attributes affect the temperature of your body? ^^
You need at least 2 armors, for extreme cold/heat.

How about you use an antidote instead of wasting so many points into this perk?

Oh actually it is. Many players don’t even know which perks does what.
Do you know yourself how many kind of monsters can poison you?

I’m starting to laugh, what do you mean by “you can sprint faster”?
And are you saying that because you sprint “faster” it is better than gathering ressources twice as fast?

@Shadoza Please wait his answer with me ^^

Actually no, it’s like a habit, every morning you dress yourself to go to work. Is it possible that you would forget to dress yourself and getting to work naked? “your overconfidence is your weakness” Right :joy:

Well yeah but what’s your point? I can survive without it too? it just enhances greatly your character. You can live everyday with bread and water (that’s a figure), however you have the possibility to eat pasta, steaks, pizza, rabbits/ducks meat, fruits, different kinds of vegetables, etc… And you make that choice to enhance your life style, but you can live without it. It is again, as simple as that.

Being a step ahead means using your head. And by not taking into accounts the possibilities that those warpaints/potions etc bring, you’re a step behind.

If you fight against a player with a similar “skill” level, but he has those potions and you don’t, you’re at a disadvantage. Trust me being able to heal yourself twice as fast makes definitly a difference (if i take the 4th vitality perk as an example).

You don’t need armors with temperature resistance? ^^

Please, explain your choice if you can :stuck_out_tongue: Because putting points to get the 4th surviability perk whereas you can use antidotes and put those points in vitality/strength is interesting

Sadly, not everything is written  So you need more than just reading

Let’s take you as an example then, you’re obviously someone who knows what he does. How many creature spit poisons?
