PLEASE, remove Spiked Walls Damage in PVE

What? How?

It has been like this forever. Nothing new. You damage them yourself as well when trying to jump over them and take damage. I used to find it annoying because when you equip repair hammer, you get floating hammers everywhere but I got used to it and now I don’t bother repairing them anymore.

In pve official…
You cannot loot another player in clan
You cannot loot another player off clan
You cannot loot their loot bags!

If I am not mistaken you cannot loot pets and thralls, that their clan is not in state abandoned!
I say this because once in the Summoning place, another player died and his bear too. I killed the darfari and started collecting hearts and skin, so I accidentally skinned the bear. I thought to collect the things and go to the other player to deliver with a brand new greater bear I had in my preservation box. And I couldn’t loot this bag, it said “you do not own this”.
However playing with other players, I know that they were putting palisades to decayed bases on thralls and they could loot the thralls. This is all the experience I have @Taemien from official servers!

You can loot their pets and thralls though, after they are dead, you skin them, and a lootable loot bag appears, however you need something else to kill them in the first place, hence the kiting.

On that one server, I have lost a horse, 3 fighter thralls , and a couple of pets because of these shenanigans.

Thank you for letting me know this, the last time it happened to me it was about 1.5year ago (the experience with the bear) and I didn’t knew that this was changed. I will ask from a friend to help me confirm this on Playstation too! Thanks again :+1:t6:

Don’t get me wrong, I can see the logic beyond this mechanic in PVP.
I just don’t see the point of having it in PVE: it’s just annoying for the base owner who wakes up and find his base damaged by other players, when this should not be possible.

That’s why I think it might be a bug. If we can’t damage the structure with hand held weapons with building damage on, why does body contact do it with it turned off?

Yeah, hehe, if you ever get walled in by anti-climb and can’t wait for admin action, you can “climb” them to your death about 15 times and they’ll break apart.

Really? I am shocked :open_mouth:

350 times for T1

7000 / 20 = 350

@SirDaveWolf
I have a blur photo I don’t know if this will help, but I believe it is less than 350 times :rofl::rofl:.
Sending the damage from a single effort, if you can see the number…

I boke one and it only killed me about 15 times. I did go through 20 of the T2 Aloe Extracts though.

I was reading wrong. Sorry. You meant dying 15 times. Yeah, idk how often you can die trying to break one though

Yeah, if it’s mathematically 350 hits and you can hit 10 times per death that’s already only 35 deaths. etc.

I love the aesthetics of walls and crenellations in my buildings. And as I’m a Single-Player, it’s I who is the idiot constantly running into their own spikes. My buildings tend to be complicated, so sometimes the easiest way to a particular room would be to climb if I hadn’t walled myself out of the house. And picking up and replacing a piece of railing would feel wrong.

Of course, Funcom could teach Purge attackers to climb, so the defensive features would have a function outside of PvP.

If NPCs have the ability to climb, this mechanic would be justified.
However, how do I know if the devs actually see this thread ?

I mean, will they come and say “ok, we read this” or we just have to hope and live in ignorance, until the day we have this feature fixed ?

Is there a way to let them know there is a thread that requires their attention ? Do I have to use the Support to notify the problem ?

I use the fences and crenallations for the look they give. I also use them to keep non clan members out of the main base area. I can’t tell you how many times we walk out the gate and find players logged out on the grounds.

I just re-built a few buildings, and having a non clan player’s body in the way in annoying. There is nothing in the main area anyone else needs. The map is outside the wall. There’s a fountain. Inside the base is ours. Build your own.

They don’t usually comment on threads or mark them as read, because people would take that as indication that their suggestion is going to happen. It would also lead into people competing for dev attention.

But the developers do read the feedback forum, and Community managers also pick interesting and viable suggestions for the developers. Depending on how popular a suggestion is, and how difficult it is to program, they either will or won’t put it into the game.

Horses and riding was one suggestion the devs had already decided to be “too difficult to make properly”, but it was such a popular request that they found a way eventually.

Bug reports are a different matter. Funcom staff will often ask for additional information, and also mark the reports as received. But that is not a proper channel for forwarding requests that are not specifically bugs.

Sooo … we just have to keep this post up and not let it get closed until, someday, we’ll found out the devs have patched this feature ?

Ok, I can do this.
