Potion of Midnight

Can we not remove Potion of Midnight from being crafted in benches in the upcoming update? Or if not, extend the decay time to over 2 minutes or remove the decay timer all together? As a solo and professional rat, potion of midnight is my bread and butter. Not to mention it is a great way to escape with loot while getting hack raided. Removing this from being stored in base is a step in the wrong direction. With every update I’m leaning away from this game.

Like if you don’t want me building small, which the potion of midnight enables me to do, I have to build incredibly big. What is worse for server performance?

As I understand, it’s a means of fighting back against sky bases and under meshing bases. I doubt they’re gonna listen to you on that. Your best bet is likely to have a hidden or discrete transportory stone in different regions and turn it off and on as needed.

Like my Suggestions for teleport stuff before…

Out of Combat or In-Combat, it has a induction. 5 seconds… any hit will knock you out of it.

PVE player looking go to grove… drink potion and wait.

PVE/PVP… better plan abit and use it for its port.

Or as I suggested before, same beam that shoots into sky when summoning a God, is used for Stone/Potion that teleport the player.
So they can hunt you down and stop it.
Again, 5-10 second Induction would fix some of issues with it.

And you know… not **** over PVE players for 1000th time…

I don’t play PvP, so I’m just asking. Why don’t you use the invisibility spell?
PS: if getting hack raided means being raided by hackers, then I pity PvP :face_with_thermometer:

If they think this will stop that, they’re idiots. They exist completely without any reliance on them whatsoever.

I think these are terrible suggestions. They don’t need to touch potion of midnight. They need to understand how skybases exist and how the people who play in them operate. All the stupid measures they’re taking aren’t stopping any of it because there are ways around it. All they’re accomplishing is crippling the game for legit players.

Hello everyone .
If I have a good memory (it’s been a while since I was born using this potion) the midnight potion is used to the dungeon of Jdebhal-Sag.
Once this one finish you are teléporter to outpermé.
Any other use comes out of the framework provided by Funcom and can be assimilated to an exploitation bug .
Without pretending to know Funcom’s motivations, I think that’s why Funcom has changed the midnight potion.
Some players used it has ends not planned by Funcom.

A pretty weak one tbh.

Because maprooms/water/sorcery exist.

Because ESP hacks exist.

But it could work against unaware (bad) players.

That is a better reason for the change. I agree here.

@jmk1999

Always make sure you’ve got a spotter at the exit into Sep :smirk:

You do understand that you do not need a midnight potion to get out of crevice and most places to save the loot?

Midnight potion is essential for building in tiny hidden spots. Spots that can not be used with a teleporter or transportery stone. Pvp players already got hit hard enough. They don´t need another nonesense nerf.

If you don´t know how to raid a base properly and people get away with their loot then they deserve it. Plain and simple. If you know they are using midnight potions then wait for them in the dungeon.

There are a lot of solo rats on official PvP. You can’t do that when you are solo :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t buy it. If you can’t escape with loot from ice cavern without a potion of midnight something is terribly wrong with your build. They might just have opted to use that instead of another means. Not to mention most large bases have space for a map room which replaces a potion of midnight. So you can still waste 500+ bombs and have them escape without a potion. They can run out. They can hide. They can pull their body with circle of power. They can transportory stone. They can map room. They can despawn. The end result may still be you waste those bombs. The argument here is that potions are essential for small base rats without map rooms. Not for escaping, but for staying small and getting access to map rooms that their build won’t allow. Your problem with potion of midnight is still a problem if it ceases to exist. If I can’t build small enough for a 20 bomb raid wipe, you better believe i’m building for a 500 bomb raid and escaping with the loot.

Yeah, that too…

And lets face it, most of them hide away and don´t raid unless its offline. The few that do raid mostly get themselfs some help. Going to ally with someone else.

Golden rule in pvp: know your enemies. Know their schedule, know their friends and more important know their enemies. And use that knowlegde to your advantage.

Only the dumb ones raid unprepared.

It doesn’t matter. They will not listen to players. When they decide to do something they just do it. Even when 99%players says dont do it

No they are not … simply come out of your hidden base , run to an open map room or build one near an obbi that is closest to your base… as a solo player that actually builds a base instead of hiding I usually find you guys are the most toxic sort of players…

Unless you are built in a mesh spot that can only be exited by a sag potion then it’s not really going to affect your gameplay that much , just a little extra running…

The potion was made to teleport people to the dungeon and people use it for anything but that, also agree with the teleporting loot out thing been annoying and not many will think or have someone available to camp the exit…

Although it was used for escape reasons and this was not a players fault but theirs, i strongly agree to the part…

It was almost cheating to my eyes too Tink, have no doubt.

I always find the people who try with mechanisms to out play others, weak. If you are in the weak position, build full strength beast and accept a honorable death, but not before crushing some weaklings outside your base. Earn the respect of your opponents! Other than that, death does not exist in this game. You can grind a couple days and be exactly where you lost it :man_shrugging:.
So yes, it was time for extermination. I hope Funcom will continue fixing mistakes of the past.
Yet…
For pve this is a blow under the belt again and for normal pvp players. This dungeon in pvp servers was a tar paradise. On pve people use it to lvl up thralls for purges. So it was really handy to fix your potion in your own base. I really hope they’ll implement the potion again in a tier 3 altar with a named priest :pray:t6:.

Just out of curiosity how do you get back to your hidden base ? If it’s that hard to get out of you need to sag out, I can only imagine the climb or the run back to it if your base is that small you can not build a summon stone? Do you use Kurak too as a cheap way back :joy: glad that’s fixed too @Khavall
