I think if you finish a Battle Pass Chapter, you should get the opportunity to work on the previous ones. It would be a great way to interact with the full history of the game and not penalize new players. Plus it’s just another option to purchase crom coins and support my favorite developer.
It’s just a little bummer that there’s some really cool content I’m not allowed to purchase. It’s not like the pictish set will eventually disappear from the store eh? So why battlepasses?
Absolutely agree. I’ve suggested this a couple times, even including the idea that previous battlepasses remove the Crom Coin rewards so that way it still incentives people to get it the first time, but if they can’t, they are not forever locked out.
I once wrote a letter in support saying that when I came to CE there was season 1 of the battle pass, but I did not have time to complete it completely and asked them to sell it to me. Technical support responded that they receive many such requests and are working to resolve this problem. They suggested following the news. This is encouraging!

I have that same horse and could not care less if other players who don’t have it get the opportunity to get it in the future. If they want it, and are willing to pay for it, why shouldn’t they be able to obtain it?
FOMO is a plague that needs to be stamped out of the industry. 343 Industries has already figured out the solution to this problem via their permanent Battle Pass system. It’s time for the rest of the industry to follow their lead.
Or, you know, dump the whole Battle Pass concept into the bin and come up with a more consumer-friendly and less abusive system.
Game monetization methods come and go in phases. Battle Passes are the rage now, but in a few years we may see some altogether different and more effective ways to milk money out of us.
Personally, I very much prefer a way that lets me buy what I want, when I want.

This whole FOMO / FOBO crap sounds like so sick psycho-cult crap to manipulate people in the most abusive way possible.
Even worse - it denies a basic capitalistic understanding of supply and demand.
Maybe I am just limited or even stupid, but let’s play a contra intuitive thought experiment:
Star cook Mr. Gordon Ramsay makes some new, innovative, and yummy menu combinations. He pushes it all around the globe in all his restaurants.
However, there is a hook - it’s a limited offer lasting only for the next 12 weeks.
Some customers come just 2 weeks later, they are part of a global company and they meet all over the globe in a bunch of Ramsay restaurants asking for these menu combinations.
Alarmed by the demands - Mr. Ramsay makes a press statement…
So here is an example - the fashion show from Age Sorcery Chapter 1-3.

Be patient. Soon enough the ages will be over with, Conan will be out of development, and the battle pass will start to recycle.

I was on a break from the game when they started this junk.
There are items I would have bought if it was a direct store item.
But 90% of battle pass is just fluff IMO.
And the rotating items in the overpriced bazaar?
Just list the items and let us choose what we want or don’t want.
And lower the damn price, a texture map for an already exiting item is just not worth what they are asking.
This one thinks the items being called fluff are the spell potions, the trebuchet stones, and other consumables, as well as items like the colored torches and some of the floor paints.
Basically anything that isn’t a costume or mid size/functional placeable.
Hmm… out 60, 10-15 pieces might be fluff indeed.
Still, that’s by no means 90%!
12oo CC for 2-3 different Armor per chapter… sounds to me already pretty fair, aside from that CC is refunded in Battle Pass.
This one agrees that the ratio of good content to filler is more favourable than 90% trash. But if the Internet isn’t being used to find NSFW material or politicking, it will find a use as a vehicle for illustrative hyperbole. The kids routinely inform this one that “literally” actually means figuratively and “everybody” means a few randos, by this logic “90%” can be translated to a number that can be noticed and annoys the person posting.
As for it’s cost-value it depends how you value your time.
This one’s time is worth quite a bit, monetarily. Enough that investments of a few hours are a value of hundreds of dollars. For those who value their time at minimum wage, spending numerous hours of it on drudgery may seem like a bargain.
As far as Battle Passes go, the one in this game is probably one of the better ones that this one has seen.
But this one despises Battle Passes.
For a few reasons, but that’s not really relevant now.
So when this one says they tolerate this game’s Battle Pass, it is the about highest praise a Battle Pass can receive from this one.
“My Opinion”
I don’t begrudge others of their opinions.
I realize there are people who find all of these things desirable.
I do not.
I was a mostly PVP player. I don’t decorate for esthetics.
The small amount of decoration I do use, is for the purpose of misdirection.
As a caveat, I am growing more and more disappointed in PVP.
Perhaps I’ll find these things more interesting “IF” I continue to lean into the PVE aspect of the game.
The bazaar is useless for pvp unless players decide to allow p2w. The day that happens, I am gone on principle, and I am what you guys call a whale. But one thing is buying shinny stuff that doesn’t give me an advantage. Another is craping on the face of the less wealthy.
So pvp will keep ignoring the bazaar and only good will, not profit, will help pvp in this game, @droch-aon . Unfortunately, that’s the case in most pvp games. Shinny stuff doesn’t matter. Why do you think there’s always meta weapons that only after a good while get rebalanced on games like CoD? P2W disguised.
