Purge won't start or I did something wrong?

,

Hey there. I’m sorry for noob question. We’ve rented a server tuned it a little bit and we’ve been playing for one week but purge didn’t start. I’ve removed restrictions on times, entered the rule that purge can start while at least 1 player is playing but “nada”. Any recommendation at this point? Bar is filled. We are all about lvl 30. Thank you <3

Even after filling the meter it’s not guaranteed, it might just be a matter of patience. It might be that none of your bases are reachable. I hope the link proves useful.

Several of the clans on my private server were having the same problem, so I did some digging to see what was up.

If you’re able, try opening the server console output so you can see the logging that tells of what the server is doing. If not, you can also download the ConanSandbox.log file (ConanSandbox\Saved\Logs\ConanSandbox.log). Whichever you reference, it’s helpful to use Ctrl+F to search on the phrase “ConanSandbox: Purge”.

When I would search on that phrase, I would find lines stating that a given clan would be getting purged by a given purge type at a specific location (i.e. X,Y,Z coordinates). For example:

[2020.05.18-23.06.47:775][413]ConanSandbox: Purge Started at V(X=80043.77, Y=159491.63, Z=-18323.31) for Clan 10683, Using Wave A bask of lizards

A few minutes later, I’d then see a failure message stating another set of nearby coordinates and one of either two failure messages:

  1. Failed to validate any spawn points:

[2020.05.18-23.09.48:696][505]ConanSandbox: Purge Failed for Clan 10683, At Location V(X=82693.73, Y=158343.95, Z=-19791.32), Using Wave A bask of lizards, Reason Failed Failed to validate any spawn points

  1. Failed to find a home location

[2020.05.18-23.04.17:668][143]ConanSandbox: Purge Failed for Clan 10683, At Location V(X=357535.84, Y=120333.04, Z=-18881.36), Using Wave A nest of snakes, Reason Failed Failed to find Home location

In the case of #1, this usually indicated that the foundation the purge was attempting to target was unreachable. For instance, one clan had placed a foundation on the side of sheer cliff so they could mount a dragon head trophy on it, and there’s no way the purge could path to it. How did I determine this? While logged-in as admin, I took those XYZ coordinates and used the TeleportPlayer X Y Z command to goto that exact spot.
X=80043.77, Y=159491.63, Z=-18323.31 becomes Teleport Player 80043.77 159491.63 -18323.31

In the case of #2, I’ve found that this often happens to clans when the server is set to require at least 1 player be online, yet none of the members of that clan are present at the base that the purge intends to target. This is where keeping the server console window open and monitoring it as the admin comes in handy. Once you see the purge declared it’s attacking a clan, teleport to the coordinates it lists, and ensure at least 1 member of that clan hangs out there until they get the purge notification on-screen. Since there’s about a 3-minute delay between the message in the server console, and when it checks a second time, this should allow plenty of time if you act swiftly.

Hope this helps.

BTW, it IS possible for an admin to manually trigger a purge for a clan, but you’ll need a little bit of info first to do this.

First, visit one of their bases, look at a building, and in the console type the command:
BuildingIdentify

You’ll see some info appear on screen, but what you want to note is the number for “Owner”.

With that, you can then use the following command to trigger a purge for them:

PurgeClan <Owner#>
Example:
PurgeClan 527

Additionally, if a clan has a purge that is showing in the Server Console or server log, but hasn’t announced on-screen yet, you can issue that command and it will cancel whatever purge they were going to get and attempt to “re-roll” a new one for them. When it does, the server will randomly select which of their bases to attack, and what purge they should get for whatever area it picked. If for some reason they want a specific base to get purged, you can just keep re-issuing that command until it targets the desired base (as denoted by the XYZ coordinates).

Finally, you can even specify what purge will attack in the same line you trigger a purge!
Start by looking thru the Purge Types on the wiki:
https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Category:Purge_Types

Once you’ve found the one you want, click on it and scroll to the bottom of the article. The information you’ll want is under Admin Commands, and I’ve highlighted it in blue here:

Now when you want to purge a clan, you can use the command like so:

PurgeClan <Owner#> [PurgeType]

Example:

PurgeClan 527 Votaries_Purge_Wave1

The nice thing about this is you can spawn purges outside their native area (e.g. Frost Giants in the Jungle), or purges with difficulty 1-4 on a server set to difficulty 6 (e.g. Votaries of Skelos).

Lads, that’s very informative and much to swallow but I thank you all for input. Much appreciated for time you’ve spent writing this. Gonna try this asap <3
upd. For now there is no info about purge in ConanSandbox.log at all. Going to try to launch it manually and I see if it will appear in logs.

So, I’m back and here is my khm… so called results.

I ran purge check for 7 days and there is no info about the “purge” even remotely.

I tried command PurgeClan
I also tried StartPlayerPurge and clicked enter, nothing happened. I’ve waited for 2 min and ran logs again and there is no info about the purge. Location of the base is open field.

That’s odd since server doesn’t even consider purging when asked :3

Will try to do my best and still, thank you Larathiel and Muppetish for a reply (can’t press @ since new users cannot mention others).

Cheers!

upd.

It’s odd… in the end it seems I’m an admin, but not every command is working for me. I cannot empty or fill Purge bar, like it’s stuck and I think it is the same why I can’t summon the purge. Maybe I messed something while tinkering with server settings on g-portal… Anyways, thank you for looking lads. Cheers.

As long as it’s working correctly, when this happens, I’m pretty sure the purge attacking party is supposed to spawn on/in the base. Much like when a follower can’t path to you, they teleport.

Take a look at this if you have a small base. it may solve your issues even though the post was written for singleplayer

Make sure you activate your admin role (enter the admin password). You can also post your purge settings for us to take a look.

Hey there,

Thank you for replying. I’m so sorry that I can’t post pcitures here since I’m new. If you don’t mind, I’ve uploaded server settings and pictures to imgur. Here is the link of the base/map/settings. If you have any thoughts and ideas, I would be happy for any help.

link removed. Thank you for reposting

Thank you again

Here is the link. Seeing your base, I am almost sure that the issue is the building score. Spawn 100 T3 foundations connect them to your wall for testing. Then attempt to start the purge again as described in my previous post. Build a tower with them or something, make sure they are connected to the wall though.

Thank you! Will try that and see how this goes. Much appreciated for these tips!

Hello everyone, if someone is reading this. Sorry I went into silent mode. Update arrived and now I can’t play Conan. It freezes and crashes after every couple of min on Win 10 (did format, other drivers and stuff, but it seems to be a bug after yesterday’s patch. Will try additional building after issue is fixed.)

Again, thank you everyone for your help. You’re great community.

I’m back. I’ve tested creating additional foundation and extended the base but purge did not start. I’m unable start it with admin commands.
