Hope this doesn’t become the true recommendation, but PS5 Pros are coming…
I remember the advice with complaints about the game’s slowness on PS4. Get a PS4 Pro or get a solid state drive. Then get a PS5. Now get a PS5 Pro!

It’s a money grab without any significant advantage. As was the ps4 pro. If someone still didn’t get a ps5, getting the pro is a good choice. Replacing your old one for a pro… meh…
Only if my PS5 dies… like my PS3 and PS4 did.
Exactly. When that happens, sure, @jmk1999 .
I said “if.” Thanks for the vote of confidence.
it may happen to the best of us, @jmk1999 .
It’s not the console, it’s the game causing trouble.
PC players have the same issues we have, maybe to a lesser extent because it’s developed for PC and they also have access to mods.
On console we can’t fix anything with mods (sadly), and the game is poorly optimized on top.
All my other games didn’t crash, lagg or something like that not on ps4 pro nor on ps5.
It’s CE, it’s FC… simple as that.
Sadly, I have to agree with UNfun here - while I can’t say that none of it comes from the console, a lot of the issues are at game (or even engine) level. I recently upgraded to a 13th gen processor and 4070 gpu - I’m still getting serious framerate drops (in single player). Based on what others have said, a lot of this comes from the game running on a single thread, even if the machine is capable of multi-threading - but it sounds like that’s an issue with UE4 itself.
Unfortunately @MarcosC is probably right we went through 3 PS4s . I would like to think that the PS5,s last longer
PS 5 $869 .00
Gaming desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 $569 .00
“Just a thought”.
The quality of the hardware went down after the PS2. I’m hoping you’re right. The PS5 does seem to be far better than the 3 and 4, but I can’t help but have a sense of dread that creeps over my shoulder when I think about it. That being said, the only real issue I have with the PS5 hardware is the ridiculous shape they decided on. The sheer fact that I need a stand to lay it horizontal is absolutely stupid.
We choose consoles for various reasons… that added commentary isn’t needed. We don’t all feel the need to buy a gaming PC…
Just a thought.
Also, I’m not sure what currency you’re using because that’s not the cost of a PS5.
Just a quick search of newegg.
I did consoles for gaming for years. Had a PC for PC stuff. But when it got to where I needed to go to a PS3 or buy a new PC that could game and the prices were equivalent I went with the PC and have never regretted it.
I prefer playing with friends that play on PlayStation. Not all of them have the time, money, knowledge, etc. for a proper PC setup… and I honestly don’t care. I don’t even have the room for one in my small abode. I have a PC that’s like 7 years old and still have it at my parents’ house because I lack the room for it. So yeah… we’re not all going to use one.
Also, that price is definitely off. It’s $499 for the disc version. I’ve bought it 3 times (1 for me, 1 for a friend, 1 for a co-worker).
Lastly, I hate seeing the one person that interjects with “um… just buy a PC” like it’s the end-all-be-all. It just makes that person sound like a condescending a-hole… especially when their opinion wasn’t asked for, nor does it contribute to the conversation.
Just a “quick search” for PS5 gave me this.
I still don’t have a PS5 mind you. I have a 2, 3 and 4 set up next to my TV though.
I wasn’t taking my post as seriously as some one else did
If I’d been serious I’d have found the most expensive package deal PS5 and the cheapest open box returned PC that could run a game. I just snaged the pricing off the first that came up in the search on newegg.
I literally just typed PS5, hit the shop tab, and used the snipping tool for the results that were directly on the top. It took me less than 2 minutes. Trust me, there was nothing serious on my end. And honestly, I expected the price to be a bit higher!
No, consoles are cheap. Consoles give you a lot of bang for the buck.
A decent gaming pc is about 3k euros, without peripherals. You buy a ps5 for about 500 euros. It’s a good investment as long as you know its limitations.
That’s…crazy! A “decent” gaming PC should not be any more than maybe $1,500 us, which would be less in euros. And it would have even higher specs than a PS5, and with the ability to upgrade and replace anything that may fail it will last you far longer as well. So yeah, you get WAY more “bang for the buck” with your PC, which does more than just gaming.
