Star metal deposits in the land of the exiles

I can’t find any more star metal ore in the Exiled Lands in the places I know in the game world.

I can only take weapons and armor parts from Cimmerian warriors and turn them into star metal ingots in the Dismantling Bank.

Is it possible to increase the supply of star metal in the game world?

I play in single-player mode, so I can’t make my own adjustments like I might be able to on a private server.

Star metal is a problem when playing on a local server. This is a situation that everyone experiences. The solution is to build a base close to the places where star metal drops and live there. It only triggers if you are there. If you are always there, this problem will disappear.

Star metal in exiled lands can only be acquired from meteors. Meteor shower happens in the frozen north and is time-limited. This is a problem for singleplayer, because in SP time doesn’t pass when you are not playing. Therefore a 24 hour timer in singleplayer means literally 24 hours of playtime..

As others have suggested, the situation with meteors is different in single-player from how it works on servers. (Reading the thread Kiki recommends will provide you with some useful information - and a possible mod-based solution if you are on PC and wish to go that route.)

The main thing to understand is that meteors will only spawn if you are close enough to the area for long enough - usually at least a couple of hours - and will despawn immediately if you leave the area (because the area itself ‘despawns’ when you leave). The only reliable way (without mods) is to spend an extended period of time in the area - either within the Mounds of the Dead (I’ve heard meteors fall while hanging around Braga’s island - not sure how much further south you can go and still be ‘in the area’), or the Frozen Slopes.

The easiest way, as others have suggested is to build a base (or outpost) somewhere within the appropriate area - the valley in the middle of C11 has generally worked out well for me - close enough to hear them fall, but not in the direct ‘landing zone’ (I’ve made that mistake before, lol) (alternatively, if you want somewhere in the snow - directly around ‘The Floe’ at the bottom of E14 has also been pretty safe for me). Usually, I hear meteors fall at some point while I’m still building around that area - it’s generally a good idea to drop everything and go harvest them immediately, as they will despawn naturally after a few hours even if you don’t leave the area. Make sure you have your meteor harvesting gear with you (or store it in a hut somewhere around the area) so that you don’t need to leave to go get it when you do hear meteors fall.

There is another excellent location for a processing facility along the Ridgeline behind the Outcast (Ymir religion trainer). Nestle it up against the next peek headed north and it won’t get squashed.

But definitely don’t build in the valley directly south of the Outcast. I did that in my first playthrough - the game waited until I’d spent a lot of time and a ton of resources building a large castle and getting a bunch of stuff set up and then dropped a meteor shower right on it  (narrowly missed my first ever t4 taskmaster, which was about the only thing I did manage to salvage from that disaster…)

Make a purge base in the “light to take us home”, prepare multiple noxious arrows and proclaim a lvl 9 purge. Let the starcallers do their job and remove the gold from your chest after the meteor shower if you don’t wish to continue the purge. You’ll get many blue rocks.

I tried staying a little longer in the specific region where this star metal ore can be mined. It worked and I was able to mine star metal ore twice. But the spread of the ore lumps in the region was quite wide.

There are three regions on the Savage Wilds map where star metal ore can be found. And there are other advantages of this map that make playing on it much more interesting than in the original game.

But thanks again to everyone for the good advice on my question.
