Suggestion: Snake Pets

Very cute. But I was thinking more about the departed Fluffy from Columbus Zoo. World’s largest reticulated python.

That’s my cute widdle fella.

Awesome how old did he get to?

Maybe it should not be that complicated to get them, getting T4 Thralls can be a realy tedious process depending on the Thrall.

In my original thread I made the suggetion to deliver an offering to a Set NPC like Mek-kamoses to prove that you are a true follower of set and deserves it to possess a Snake Egg.

It could be a real offering like Human Hearts, or it could be depending on the NPC more something like a bribe with gold or silver.

In the case of the real offering I would suggest to make the Snake Egg randomized, but in the case of the bribe solution I would suggest that the player would get a specific egg, Cobras for one kind of coins and Pythons for the others, but in the end that a things that will the devs have to decite.

And don’t get me wrong I don’t think your idea is bad, I just believe it makes it a little bit to hard to get the pets unless it is a T4 Thrall with a fixed spawnpoint.

Yes maybe to put them in a new type of decorativ folowers whitout AI so they dont block spots in the folower cap. Maybe only poisen atacks as the spikes do bleead.

Maybe something along the lines of a unique T4 thrall in a fixed location in the volcano area giving players something to look for later towards the end game making them harder to find then regular fixed thralls but not to challenging.

The thrall could maybe be an exiled serpent man (half man half snake) somewhat referencing Thalsa Doom as he could turn into a snake himself.

Instead of breaking him in the wheel we could instead just bring him offerings of hearts and gold like you suggested in turn we could get loot ranging from potions, legendary weapons to snake eggs.

As for the eggs Place the egg in a sanctum of set for it to hatch and the type of snake we get can vary depending on the tier of priest.

It’s just an idea

Such a shame

R.I.P Fluffy

Would seem to make more sense to be a deployable pet like the apes and yetis. No need in making something so complicated it requires all those steps.

I was about to suggest this, myself. To expand on this, one of the developers made a post some time ago about why we don’t see capes, and it has to do with how cloth flowing physics break the game, and lag out the server even to the point of crashing the server. They have added scarves since then, sure, but no full sized capes. I know snakes are not capes, but the point I’m making here is that there are things that might seem simple to us but that can have an unexpected impact on the stability of Conan and this goes a long way to explain why the game is the way it is.

I can imagine that snakes could have a similar issue. We rarely ever see large snakes in any abundance, and there are only a few places in the world where we see smaller snakes and in any of the cases where we do see those snakes they are usually in large flat areas with little to no clutter and more than enough room to maneuver, even then they bug out quite a bit.

I might like to see snakes in the game as tamable pets but I don’t think we will because I don’t think the game can literally handle it.

The little turtles :turtle: I pictured earlier just wandering around through rooms not actually moving their legs. I have had one following doesn’t leave the house but leveling to 9 so far. Maybe a :snake:like that

Mhh I don’t think that snakes big or small can break the game, even in big numbers, they may bug out here and there, but if we all look at the game more critically then we will notice quickly that most NPCs or Enemys can be buggy and that in hilarious ways sometimes.

Do that stop us from having fun with the game? NO

I’m sure that it will not break the game if we get Snakes as pets, there are some mods that already do that and I never read complains about snakes of all things breaking anything.^^

This is true. How I wish we could put some basic armor sets on our animal companions like we can with Dogmeat on Fallout 4. But with so many different animal types and the prospect of several variants of armor for each, I imagine it would be a blighter to program in, and greedy sod for technical resources.

I saw one of them @sestus2009, but could not grab him as I did not have an animal pen at that point. I am still not even up to level 60 yet either. How do they perform in combat, and do they have much of an HP pool…?

On the topic of turtles: As far as I can tell they will not attack, and NPCs do not really identify them as a potential target though I’m sure they could be killed. They appear to just wander in an area around where they are placed.

Hardly any health 60 I think. I have a level 9 that never left the house he was on follow but didn’t leave the house. I accidentally ate one he was on my wheel before going into animal pen :grimacing: oops ate him.

Yet it could not be an armor for any animal but … a buff that gives them double strength or double armor could exist without great problems I suppose . Let’s say a food or two could work this way . About the gas problem it could be a perk , one of the 3 perks they gain could made them be immune to gas . Yet they would still be vunerable to poisoning that’s why the survival perks and points should work better on animals . Animal companion should be a more brutal companionship than any Thralls since Thralls can help you capture more Thralls and they can be Armored and equipped by strong weapons . A lion my friend is a 300kilo killing machine , an elephant can speed up to 55kmph crushing everything in it’s way , yet they are nothing Infront of any thrall :rofl::rofl: , yea right , ok :+1: , good job :woman_facepalming:

Yea some animals could need a buff here and there, at least in terms of HP to compansate the missing Armor.

I actually built an aquarium of sorts and juss spawned in some Cobras and a Giant snake, To visit I separated myself and the snake (Named Jethro) by Barricades.

That’s a clever idea, but wouldn’t persist past daily reboots.
