Espel the Glorious is a Derketo archpriest from the purge iirc.
Note… There may be a difference between a named arch priest and a regular arch priest. I found 2 deko arch priests in that location. One was male, one was female.
This leads me to believe…
Priest == T1
High Priest == T2
Arch Priest == T3
Named Priest == T4
This is why you could see Arch priests of opposite gender as they have a more random look.
Named are essentially T4 always.
do T4 priests have any advantages over the T3s? (appart from taking 12-24 hours to break on the wheel)
Damage and hit points possibly if they are attacked, but no unique recipes. I think arch priests are enough to make ths god tokens.
Priests can’t attack or be attacked. They have no hit points.
When you see them work at an altar, you can’t interact with them in any way, it’s pure cosmetic
Maybe better discount on resources and faster processing?
That would be nice but surprising at the same time because there’s no difference in ressource spent or process time with or without priest 1 to 3 at an altar.
This is correct and it has always been like that since EA.
And about this nice derketo archpriest you found, how many runs did you make before finding him/her because i can apparently only find the usual crafting thralls here:
1 cook+1 armorer near the bonfire
around the derketo teacher:
1 armorer
1 carpenter
1 cook
and 2 dancers
like I said in a previous post, the placeholder is not always a priest, it can be the armorer or the carpenter.
When in doubt, kill them all.
I think we were a bit lucky though. We got the archpriest in maybe 2-3 hours of killing every 15 minutes.

Actualy, another clan found another on the same day. So maybe the spawn rate is not so bad.

I found arch priests at both bonfires you must climb to reach.
As for the rest, one dancer is always the same named male dancer. The other always seems to be a level 2.
On 2 occasions (maybe out of 20 sunspots patch) the carpenter near the Religiob teaching NPC has been a named carpenter too.

If you mean the archers in Sepermeru, I finally got one yesterday Mandughai Hundred-arrow. Took forever to get it to spawn.
Still trying to get Arcen Brokenfingers… He’ll be my bane of existence.

Great point mango, I have had a very hard time as well, although in the volcano by the Oblisk there are 3 that always appear, a cook a alchemist, and a black smith.
