Testlive Patch (11.09.2020) - The Isle of Siptah balance and bug fixing update

Got on Offical testlive pve3, and it is not showing all of my purchased DLC. It is only letting me access the DLC I purchased within the last 6 months. I had purchased Aquilonian and Khitan over a year ago and it is showing not purchased on testlive.

I am also confused on how building pieces work in the new system. Checking out all levels of building pieces and they all say insulated. So does everything protect against heat and cold now?

Actually it has changes to exiles in it. The core mechanics if both will be identical, it fighting, most basic feats, attribute system.

Dude the changes to the original map are not 61gb. From all those GBs it maximum 1GB.

  • Got all overheat levels at once - did I win something? (I changed clothes several times while standing still).
  • As usual, after creating a character, it disappears during the open animation.
  • During my absence (offline), my companion buried himself in the sand - rhinos are surprised too!

  • It is very good that you can see the horse’s HP, but it does not disappear when you mount on horse.

  • I also found some graphic errors

Other:

  • When viewing the map, the cursor can be moved outside the available area (map doesn’t darken itself) and the administrator can teleport to the edge of the world :globe_with_meridians: beyond the green wall of death.

updates sometimes have to rewrite “good” code, hence why large files. Not all 61 gb is brand new stuff.

Explain why my game went from around 50gb to 90gb. That is not rewriting code, thats Siptah, a map i wont use, those are 60gb that i have no access to and something i dont need on my drive.

Played with it for a few hours yesterday and it was definitely more challenging, but you can make coarse wraps on the fly from aloe and fibre, so it just reinforces the survival aspect of the game and makes you think more before rushing in to combat. I prefer it over soothing, it’s more logical and adds a new interesting dynamic. Hope they don’t go back to soothing.

Okay. How about the fact there are over 2,000 material changes to EXISTING materials, alone. Source? Dev kit change log. If a single change is made to a material, you the player, redownload said material. Obviously it’s not just materials. That’s what @WhatMightHaveBeen was basically saying. You make a single change to something, and it requires to be downloaded in an update. And the dev kit change log, is very, very, very long.

I agree. The changes make combat a lot more risky and interesting at lower levels. Not sure about higher levels yet though.

Anyone else notice the map loading is way slower now, I mean when press M or the gamepad button to show the map, it takes some good seconds to load now.

WooHoo!!! Bout time!

You cant be serious that such changes add additional 60GB to the base game. If what you saying is true the old files should be replaced with new one and the game from around 40gb should go up maximum to 1-5gb, not ADDITIONAL 60GBs . The whole folder is now 103GBs.

Sorry misunderstood. Irregardless, one of Funcom’s lead developers confirmed that you won’t be downloading the expansion map itself if you don’t purchase it.

Multigun, correct if I am wrong but for something to be modded it needs to be in the base game. The extra gb are probably the new toys modders get to play with and eventually incorportare in their mods for the old and new map alike.

Modder’s got some extra functionality to the menu system as a whole that will make modding a bit easier for making maps. That’s not going to create 60 gigabytes worth of download size. More like, a few megabytes since it’s just pure code.

Let me further clarify. So Glaucon is saying in the link I provided that the map itself won’t be downloaded if you don’t purchase it. That makes sense. What will be downloaded, in terms of Siptah, are things that would be or could be used on both maps. That means the armors, rhinos, the buildings, etc. Just like any other DLC to date has been like. So of course that’s going to add to your download size. Even if you don’t own a cosmetic DLC, you still download it. You have to, otherwise you would run into invisible walls on the map.

Maybe since its Testlive we downdload Siptah ? But it doesnt make sense since they said it will be for EA players only. @Ignasi can you clarify whats with the 60GBs ?

  • You can use items (food) directly from containers (even from the bodies of defeated enemies). However, it is not possible to put on / change armor this way (also warpaint).
  • Taskmasters don’t reduce the crafting cost of items on the Torturer’s Worktable.
  • Zooming in and zooming out on the map causes the icons / markers to flicker.
  • The X button in the controller does not activate the adjustment of building elements to the ground.
  • Turanian build elements don’t protect against the cold in a cold region and even they warm the player up in a warm region (I haven’t checked all the DLC sets, some are unavailable, although I have them).

  • Extreme cold causes 0 damage (also in the description)
  • Frostbite, despite the description, does not deal any damage (you can even climb).

  • Pressing “down” on the controller will deselect the respawn point (bed or sleeping bag).

I came across a hint of another bug.

Companions usually return to their pre-selected location after fighting to defend the player's territory but..

…but apparently, not counting companions with passive behavior (regardless of the other chosen strategy and behavior options) companions do not return to their pre-selected location when an opponent knocks them over, throws them away, or kicks them out.

Note: Human opponents also throws / kicks out comrades sometimes.
Note 2: Animals resistant to throws / kicks, always return to pre-selected location.

I will delve into this later, now there are more important things to test. :test_tube:

Im pretty tired of this to be honest stupid replies.

Instead of realise and see that horses are OP and broken and telling people who want them to be balanced, in such way trying to make them look dumb is just pathetic.

I remember when 4th hit glitch was a problem in this game, almost everyone knew how to do it and it was annoying, people cried about it to get fixed finally after ~1.5-2 years it got fixed.

A while later they introduce mounts in the game who has the exactly same effect like 4th hit glitch had, but even stronger. And now some people dont have a problem with it since they finally can get some kills, untill that guy gets up on a horse and runs you and your horse over.

Sorry but if you come with an answer like that im not even gonna try to be nice to you, instead im gonna tell u to open up your mind and open your eyes and try to see if you really dont think one of this problems im gonna put down should be like this or not.
Problems with horses is what I can remember now is

  1. In water you can hit from horse back.

  2. In water you + your horse gets stamina back

  3. You do x1.5 more damage with your weapon on horseback+knockdowndmg+last hit effect from the weapon.

  4. You can get up on the horse almost instant after getting knocked. Just need to wait for your stamina.

  5. Way to hard to knock someone off the horse since it loses so little stamina.

  6. Horses HP can be up to 7-8k wich is totally insane.

  7. Hitbox is bit off, you really dont need to aim perfectly to make your enemy get hit by your weapon or horse.

  8. Last hit effect on all attacks. Like 4th hit glitch but on a horse + more dmg.

Good stuff with horses.

  1. The speed, and possibility to move around the map faster.

  2. A new way to fight. Problem is that it’s the only way to fight now. You really dont have anything to counter it as a no ground player. And no, a good solution is not to run around stones, climb up a mountain. In that way im not gonna be able to kill the horseplayer.

There you go, live in your dreamworld where horses are like tanks.

Thank you for this feedback!

They are the type of crafters that don’t decrease costs (such as Tanners, Smelters):

This has been reported and hopefully will be resolved prior release.

I will try this as well to re-confirm.
