And probably a good chance toy thrall will die my the arena champion. As even now I find it difficult to fight then with out having g to run away and heal up my thrall, I don’t have a crazey up on one but a berserker with about 8000 hp. Itll take a few heal ups for me.
I played PVP about a year and thralls are the last thing that I was worrying about. The most deadly things were 100% arrows, poisoned daggers and spears.
Only one reason thralls get nerfed - increasing players play time. Artificial bumping game performance stats for investors.
Sorry. Love this game, but this is not a good sign. I would suggest optimizing development and design processes Instead but I know it might be impossible in some teams.
Ehh heroic dosent sound like still hiding behind a thrall that is now less effective. Basically making any thrall other then THE BEST useless. But now maybe I can around killing people’s thralls without spending some much time on them. Like it wasn’t easy enough to stun lock them and kill them slowly. Bases defense will be at and all time low, purges and players will eat those crappy thralls your got and tear down your home leaving you feeling helpless and defeated. I know more people who have a hard time with this game then who know 100% about how to deal with all things. For me I always fight with my thralls expect for the arena champion. I never made my thrall the hero if he was, I’d be his slave. As a solo this will make the game incredibly more grindy since I will need the best thrall to even fill confident on even bring them out. FireSpark81 I think said it right funcom is rushing patches and saving face for investors. Theu were doing well but this is a major set back from that pace.
And not to mention a year since yall did anything with gods, we get a rush result for it after all this time yall made the push and such a minor change why did we wait so long? Were the thrall nerds apart of this push to get content and a “patch” out. I think the bosses and player stats need a change of you are going to rework thralls. Itd be nice if we got real bonuses from spending attribute point other then the perks as of now the perks are the really the only good thing fro.spemding points other then that it dosent really change damage out put or health pool as a player your still weaker then most thralls
That’s not how numbers work. Doing 40% less damage does not mean 40% more time. For Snowhunter it’s 75% more time.
I am a PvE player and I absolutly disagree with this nerf.
You just increased the grind and waste my time.
I am the commander of my troops and I let them fight for me.
Why can I have only one thrall fighting for me at once?

Conclusion: You didn’t want to make player more heroic, you wanted player to spend more time.
And what happened to Avatars? They’ve been gone for about a year. Did it really take a year to make two simple changes to their tokens?
What happened to the improvements to the siege mechanics? Weren’t improved siege mechanics going to be coming with improved Avatars?
And what’s up with the Friend’s List for this “live service”? Is that really something the community was really ‘screaming’ for over bug fixes and game improvements? Not really sure what the thinking was for this one.
Overall, I’m rather disappointed in this newest patch. You all have been doing awesome for several patches now, but not this one. This one needs to get rolled back and ‘put back in the oven to bake for a while’.

My thralls have made me a hero. I unfortunately don’t play on official servers or PVP. Why can’t you just nerf pvp modes instead of the others. Why even bother trying to level Snowhunter when she’s been nerfed below a common berserker etc.?

Also, I understand the base game ends at 60, but for many of us we continue on to 300, with much more difficult enemies - some of which are already near impossible when playing solo.
Damage I can almost understand, especially considering I am generally out damaged, but the HP changes really hurt. Those of us who prefer to go ranged need someone to help take the hits, this really lessens that.
As others have said, if you want to make the player the star, then buff the player and not debuff the thralls - that changes nothing except making fights either take longer or impossible to do without deaths.
If you want these kind of changes, make them server settings so the players can decide how they want to play. I am sure you could make those changes quicker and easier than your across the board thrall nerfs.
You Clearly don’t listen to feedback! you didn’t listen to feedback when people were telling you not to Nerf accuracy perk tree the way you did, which basically destroyed that tree, While not even fixing the second perk which is far more broken in it’s behavior, So now nobody uses it.
And now you’re slapping the faces of solo players who depend on thralls for PvE content. I need my thralls the way they are! 90% of my content is PvE and without anybody to play with taking down bosses are going to be impossible things to even achieve… ■■■■■■■■ Funcom… How about actually fix the game instead of nerfing stuff? All the fun weapons in PvP? NERFED! All the cool Armor? NERFED! All your favorite thralls? NERF AND DESTROYED!
How about fixing the DLC building pieces that have no destruction animations? something like that what has been in the game for years without any fix? Fix the continued broken thrall animations when they still refuse to attack. How about give some head collision to the damn Rhino Boss so i don’t keep getting stuck inside it? Fix purges. If you want to fix PvP how about just give players more health per level?
I can’t begin to see the logic behind nerfing thralls. Nobody complained about thralls being OP in PvE content. Suggestion to nerfing thralls was already made, Just reduce their overall damage “VS” players only. Also with nerfing the Thralls? How about decreasing the level it takes to level up them? since they’re not even going to be remotely as good as they were before. Also Thrall usefulness varys from being too good to being too bad, the higher tier thralls are simply better than anything found in the desert, a better way would be to buff the weaker thralls you can get and Nerf the stronger ones which everyone always uses, Then there wouldn’t be such a disparity.
There’s so many better ways of balancing thralls than simply just going the easy way of 40% Reduction in everything on them.
I have played this game for over 400+ hours on XB1, and I recently switched over to PC (bought a new gaming PC). I am not kidding when I say if you go the route of nerfing thralls to the point where the game is a tedious chore to play as a PVE solo player. I will quit and get a refund. I have seen too many games pander to the PVP crowd, and have it totally screw over the PVE community. If you won’t/can’t make different thrall stat sets for different sever types than I suggest you revamp OUR player character stats as well. We can’t even reach 20% of what the thralls can do (could do) stat wise. I understand you don’t want the thralls to be able to do every thing for the player, but don’t forget some of us don’t use the clan system and team up. I think the last word on this for me is easy, and it’s because your A.I is still busted and Derpy my thralls don’t even want to attack half the time. I recently got a Nord purge where two neighbors were nice enough to help me if not for them my best thrall would of died. Now take into account this is a T3 bearer thrall with 15K of HP with a good armor set on nerf that by 40% and she’s dead halfway through that purge. I am not going to play a game where I’am focusing 60% of my time on breaking new thralls just so they can die because PVP players whine about balance.

I know a bunch of people who do. It fixes the broken pvp meta while also making archery more satisfying and useful.
I’m currently playing pve solo right now myself. I’m glad they’re nerfing it so boss fights can be a fun challenge again instead of an idle game while your snowhunter does all the work.

This I’ll 100% agree with. Instead of a blanket nerf, we need to bring down the overall variance between the top and bottom fighters. There’s so much fluctuation it makes some completely unusable when you could just go for one of the others.
I don’t know of any 100% spawns for named volcano fighters (PLEASE tell me where if there are!), but Dalinsia Snowhunter has a significant HP bonus over the Cimmerian Berserker. Whether higher HP is worth the time it takes to farm her is up to each player.
While it sucks that my Dalinsias are no longer the bestest evar, I accept that nerfs happen when games are being actively developed.

I also 100% agree with this and a flattening of the disparities between thralls should come with the currenlty general nerfing. Because one of the things that breaks thrall system imo is the gap between the weakest thrall and the strongest thrall ever, and not only their stats.
NO they did not, they were all pvp , why would anyone in pve want wonky broken thralls with 40% less power. why would they , most of them play alone or in very small clans they do not want to spend hours leveling thralls to watch them die to a broken purge, we do not spent our time killing other players and their thralls , we care about dungeons and purges, we use thralls for base defenses and dungeon runs, we use thralls to help protect our bases from the totally broken purges not other players we are not pvp. Now our defenses are 40% more useless with the A.I. bugs and now this. So all you PVE players who wanted this come on speak up as I read the forums daily and to be honest have NOT seen pve asking for thralls to be nerfed.
Reducing hp and damage of thralls is a welcome update, it will feel more or less like before the leveling thrall update where they got a massive buff, so i don’t see the problem.
But, you keep making the same mistake, you give the players power (op thralls) and then you take it away from them (a very needed balance) and then they come to complain about “how hard it will be now”(it’s not). I understand why you do it this way but to keep people happy you need to give something in return, “nerfs” (this is not a nerf, is a rebalance) are always a problem for somebody and you don’t want to build negativity among the players, it’s a very difficult task to keep everybody happy so i have to suggest to give a little thing in return for this “nerf”.
Giving the player more power will unbalance PvP and making different stats for PvP and PvE may be very time consuming for FC to consider this an option. At this point raiding NPCs villages has become a more difficult task for their better AI (great job with that) But Bosses in my opinion are still a tiresome and tedious task that should be completely the opposite. In order to “nerf” thralls you have to consider to “nerf” Bosses aswell, or better, Buff their complete behavior, make them stronger in terms of tactics but reduce their HP pools, now with the possibilitty to order my thrall to fight, when to stop and how to engage serves the chances of better boss fighting mechanics. To be honest, their actual combat mechanics are boring, they have different combos or random attacks being spammed at you, raising a shield or a well timed dodge is more than enough but you have to repeat the same thing over and over, it’s boring.
For me this is a great update, but i still believe we will need a boss combat rework in the near future, buffing the player is not an option, a high level character with high level gear can defend himself or herself very easily and those difficult dungeons should be that, difficult, not a farming place, they need to be funnier to play though.
As an additional note, i would LOVE to see this update live soon, but i will add a couple things that in my opinion, are need.
- Horses should be only mounts, not followers. Please make their passive behavior to stand their ground instead of following you everywhere, they are just an obstacle when not mounting them. Maybe each time you unmount them set the “stand your ground” option instead of “follow me”?. Also, they return to the base rather quickly, when you ask them to stop following, maybe this is intended but it doesn’t work for long term activities.
- Thralls, specially followers are still very unresponsive, we need this fixed, please, is no fun to be ganked by 6 silent legion soldiers while your thrall just stands there watching you die. An option in the radial menu to teleport them back at you, with cooldowns to avoid abuse, would be nice.
This is an update in the right direction but i think it still needs a bit more, nevertheles, a big thank you for listening to your community, funcom.
What is the end goal here? Nerfing thralls approx 30%-40% does not resolve any underlying issues at all. You are not making the game more enjoyable. You’ve prolonged the grind for Boss fights which imo are already grindy enough.
I get the point that thralls are OP in PVP situations. Agree 100% but going against a 22K Boss or the Warmaker Champion and being 1 shot or 2 shots in most cases is just silly. You cannot just nerf thralls and think you are doing something good for the game. The whole system needs to be completely rehauled.
If you want to do something decent, implement less player damage provided by Thralls. That would be the easiest remedy for now… Turning a 15 minute Boss fight who has a rare chance of dropping anything decent to a 30-45 minute battle which the same outcome, will only cause more harm then good imo.
I get the game is supposed to be a grind fest but without any form of periodic wiping, grinding eventually becomes nullified.
In regards to avatars, has anything been rectified on the people whos vaulted tokens? Whens the expected ETA for this? Seems quite concerning…
