they do not test their stuff, not even the things that are revenue makers,
why on earth funcom does not test ANYTHING!? cause it is clear they DONT have a QA departrment or have dedicated people testing…

I do understand your side but tbh if they re pricing it so high then adding a simple sitting function to a seat is not a big deal for them. Or atleast put it in description that its not functional and they can also stop making it look like it functions as a tavern… besides, my point is that… the whole chapter 3 is dependent on their tavern system and mechanics and how they bring in a whole new way to play teh game now for getting thralls in game and on which this whole tavern sets are being sold right…so they can atleast make a simple kneeling animation which is available already too… else let them price it like the dlc packs which are far more worth and do their job.
All I ask is that they make sure to add description atleast (an honest one) if they can so honestly put up such a high price then they might as well honestly just make the seat functional and atleast let the customers actually be happy with the expensive purchase…

But yes @donbzm I do understand your side… I just want them to understand my side if they can take my money while pricing things so high, and also promoting something which doesnt function like its supposed to…

Was largely disappointed with this as well, especially given the game already has kneeling and other various sitting positions that would suit the cushions.

This is exactly my point. In the world I live in, not only would it be expected, but it would be demanded that these pillows work. No one would buy such a pack. But for those who buy items from the bazaar, it’s just another ordinary day. They complain a bit, but buy the item, then the next, then the next…
I’ve been following the game since its launch, analyzing every step taken by Funcom. And I assure you, when I comment, I have a lot of insight into it. I knew the pillows wouldn’t work, even seeing the concept image of the pack. I knew the appearance of the lantern and bonsai wouldn’t be as beautiful as it is in the promotion. I knew the space to place the bear cub on the Vanir tavern counter wouldn’t work, just like many other things in the concept image that won’t work as advertised.
I must confess that this made the library pack incredible. But did players appreciate this? Or would the pack have sold nearly the same amount if the book were purely cosmetic?
I fully agree. That’s why I think players should be more selective when buying items from the bazaar, paying a high price for what’s worth paying for, and rejecting broken or unfulfilled packs.
Until someone buys it, no one knows it’s broken. It’s the unfortunate side effect of cash shop content in all games. There’s not a testing environment for these items, nor a “try before you buy” or anything like that.
I do agree that it’s absolutely bad practice for broken things to be the norm and for content to be released again and again that doesn’t function as it should. Which is why a lot of us do wait until someone has purchased the item and given their thoughts. But don’t shame people for not ignoring deceiving descriptions and screenshots. That’s a Funcom thing and they should be held accountable, not the customers.

My point is: I don’t buy ANYTHING that I’m not familiar with without first checking a review. It’s not just Funcom; it’s every company trying to push products/services by highlighting strengths and doing everything to conceal what’s negative. Funcom itself offers for free bazaar items to some content creators for review. Those who purchase “blindly” do so by choice. Within about 2 to 3 hours after the bazaar rotation, I can already find at least 3 analysis videos of the pack on YouTube. Fortunately, this battle for viewership makes things easier for us.
Just to clarify: I don’t criticize those who purchase items from the bazaar. On the contrary, I think Funcom does a good job by creating only superfluous items in the bazaar that don’t harm the experience of players who choose not to buy. I even encourage those who want to buy items in the bazaar because I really hope Funcom finds monetization avenues for the game to last a long time. What I would like is for players who buy from the bazaar to exercise a bit more discretion, as they are, in a way, currently setting the overall quality standard of the game.
Please find me a review of either the Yamatai tavern set or the Crypt set. I’ve looked and I’ve not seen one of either. And with the new, faster rotation cycle, there’s less time to sit and wait for reviews if you actually want something.
I’m glad you do rigorous research before you purchase things. But we shouldn’t have to. Items should function as described and shown in previews. It’s not a hard concept and there is nothing wrong with then being upset at a company for being less than honest about their product. Again, we should be holding Funcom accountable, not saying “well, wait for some 3rd party to do a review”.
and they can add descriptors, they do it already with some “beds” they add something like “a bed in name only” meaning its decoration…
We just published a showcase of the items, but usually we don’t have our videos out that fast. If you want to make a good and thorough video, it takes time - time in which many others might have already purchased the set without wanting to wait.
I also have to say that with the faster rotations of the various items on offer, it’s harder to cover all bigger sets - so we only do select videos.
Lastly - while I wouldn’t be surprised if they did indeed design the pillows purely as decoration, the new Tavern System literally teaches players to put down seating to attract visiting NPCs, and if the Yamatai set is supposed to be a themed variation of the regular Bar Counter and seating in general - then not having functional seating would be ridiculous.

Maybe it’s a bug. Maybe it’s not. Hard to tell nowadays. One might think that a bug like that would hardly slip by testing. But the whole affair with the camel mount has shown that they don’t test their product one single time before publishing. So maybe it is a bug despite being so obvious.
That aside, in it’s current state, it’s a seat you cannot sit upon.

Thank you for posting this! I appreciate the review videos you, and others, do. The expectation on all of you reviewers though is pretty rough, imo. No one doing review videos should be expected to churn out a video within a few hours of it being released. And no one should have to absolutely rely on review videos to see whether the advertising is honest or not.

I agree! And why should a company do that? I believe it’s to avoid damaging its reputation in the market and with players. And what happens? The pack becomes a bestseller!
The content you create is truly amazing. And it’s easy to understand why it takes some time to be released. Please, keep doing it.

C’mon funcom… You have the kneeling style sitting pose you added into game recently… just use that and make it happen… a pillow seat which functions for the tavern set and can finally make the tavern set from bazaar a success.
jeez 2457 crom coins and the yamatai tavern seat doesnt have the function to sit or kneel on it which also by default disqualifies it as a tavern set since it cant bring in the npc thralls to come and sit in the built taverns lol.

O que falta na DLC Yamatai é justamente a Katana de duas mãos isso todo samurai tem somente conan exiles que não tem Katana dupla dentro do jogo base

EE mod (exiles extreme mod) has 4 different sitting pillow types to sit on. hope this helps atleast until funcom can add the pillow sitting functionality lol.
