In this interview (July 1, 2022), Dennis answers some important questions. Check out this video:

@prologue1337 almost like we explained and talked about a lot of these things in the thread too ![]()
Thanks for posting it ![]()
I did not need to get my hands on the actual product to know it would be fair, and maybe a bit trivial, and all my FOMO silent screaming and hand wringing could end.
Thank you Dennis for assuaging the fears of those whom did.

Watch this video.
They are making it crystal clear.

922 in the battlepass feedback thread. About 2 weeks worth of content. That is why there was this focus in the interview.
Yeah, Wak does a really good job when it comes to creating content and being neutral ![]()
What I would like to know, is that, who really uses duel wield knives on a skelly boss.
I listened to the interview and it sounded a bit canned ( rehearsed ) . I have no issues with this, as I am not a FOMO cryer, and just want to see the content, but the vocal minority crying FOMO should not get the attention of a Dev interview. Accept the BP and use it, or ignore it and move on, it is all about free choice, and free will.
Why do you keep insulting anyone who might not be super enthused about this? The last time I tried to debate this with you, you went all “no I’ve discussed it too often” - yet once again you insist on bringing it up, and calling anyone who disagrees with you a “laughable, crying 8-year old”. Kinda disrespectful to be honest.
I dunno if I would put it quite like that but I too thought there was some missed opportunity. Here’s hoping for more interviews. This one was pretty good for what it focused on. I gave it a thumbs up! ![]()
My question would be like: Why do YOU make something personal from her opinion??? Naughty - naughty! ![]()
Personal? Not quite. But it’s no secret that I’m at least somewhat wary of their deliberate use of FOMO tactics, and I think it’s fair to be wary. Also I’m tired of constant digs at anyone with a differing opinion, and likening people to crying children is not conducive to a decent forum experience.
YES!!! Personal!!! !!! !!!
You used the word “you” in an accusatory way and faulted her PERSONALLY! If you didn’t intend to or were unaware of what you were typing, maybe hit the edit button and reword your sentences?
Yes, disrespectful is a good word. I have no patience with people that assume, and compare this with other online games that actually promote FOMO tactics.
The reasoning behind my original post that I do not want to engage in this dialogue any longer is that it is a waste of time, since the people crying FOMO had no actual facts to support it, and just overrode and insulted anyone that disagreed with them.
In this context, I feel that I am just “replying” and not “bringing it up” as you say.
Is this “disrespectful” ?
I owe no respect to anyone, including you or the dissidents that continue to whine about FC trying to cheat them.
I tried to dodge the issue with you, as I have always had the utmost respect for you, and did not want to engage in any conflict.
That being said, I still disagree with you and the other FOMO cryers, and will vocalize my opinions until I am banned by the Mods on this forum for doing so.
Please. Funcom deliberately implemented FOMO on the advice of their monetization expert. Now you’re of course free to think that this is fine, or of no consequence, but to claim they’re not doing it is simply not true.
Well ignoring the discussion and throwing insults seems to be a tactic you’ve grown fond of yourself, to be honest.
No, but calling people - including me - “crying 8-year olds” definitely IS disrespectful.
I have never said anything about Funcom trying to cheat us. FOMO is not cheating. It’s manipulative, but so is most sales tactics. Doesn’t mean everyone has to like it, though. I somewhat disagree that respect is not owed - not to me specifically, but to anyone, in general. But I guess that’s a matter of opinion. Funcom themselves have requested feedback, on this issue and any other, so it’s pure nonsense to say that this is about “dissidents”.
Likewise, but this is a discussion forum. If you want to debate it, I’m fine with that. If you don’t, well, you are free to keep taking cheap shots but you can’t be annoyed when responded to.
You’re more than welcome to disagree with me, and to vocalize your opinions. Never said otherwise. You’re even free to do so in an insulting manner, though I find that part unnecessary.
Well I agree that I may have added an insulting phrase about 8 year olds and have amended that post. It may have been a cheap shot, so I differ to you on that, My apologies.
The fact that a vocal minority, AKA “dissidents” are trying to tie FOMO into a simple BP set up is what triggers me into replying to these mostly none productive comments.
Since the BP is not even implemented yet, but we have to listen to the “cryers” is very telling, as to their motivation.
Personally, I think it is really just a “tempest in a teapot” situation, and am a bit annoyed at the FOMO hand wringing. Manipulation is a ploy, and anyone that thinks that they are being “Manipulated” can easily opt out and not participate. How hard is this to understand?
Apology accepted.
Well I think those are separate things - a BP does not equal FOMO, it depends on the implementation. In this case, specifically that they’re going to make items available that you have to pay for now, or forever lose access to. That’s the only bit of this I don’t like. I more than support Funcom getting more/better monetization going, I even suspect that they’re - monetarily speaking - correct to implement it this way, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
Well I’d tend to agree with you there (the tempest in a teapot bit, at least), but there’s a fine tradition of providing feedback, and I’d rather offer mine up sooner rather than later. We’re of course all free to change our minds once we get our grubby hands on it and see how it plays out in practice. My objection at this stage is by definition principal as I can’t speak to the concrete details.
Not hard at all, but if it ends up in turning people off from participating (ie, supporting Funcom) it’s ultimately bad for the game. Funcom can, as always, do the numbers and decide whether they want to adjust anything. In this case I’d be very surprised if they do change anything, but still.
Me
. Actually years now I have seen many similarities on my play style with @Wak4863. His op is his war axe, he loves mace too but after Siptah release, that the dagger “mistake” was fixed, plus the damage outcome, he loves all the dagger styles, both rotating and punching. I still didn’t use a lot the punching daggers, I like them but not as the rotating ones. He even fixed a dedicated server (Siptah) that you could use only daggers and pets.
Daggers and short swords are the assassin tools, you have to be flexible and swift, that means that you have to go out of your box, meaning the protection of a heavy armor and sloppy fighting.
My next wish, which I find out this “mistake” from his videos is the executioners weapons. I find it really unfair that my thralls do not take xp because I use it. I don’t like the choise thralls xp or fast kill?
My dear JJDancer I watch his videos years now and sometimes I send him my opinions. Him and @Barnes are the “first” YouTubers I ever wanted to communicate and hopefully they answer back, so I salute to their greatness.
@Marcospt in another thread you uploaded 4 of the most famous YouTubers of this game.
However my first YouTube videos in this game was from Vintage Beef and Shaqueira. Neebs gaming made a video in this game but they didn’t give the love they gave in other games. Devs nonetheless gave to them more than they diserved on Exile lands. I would like to see them make another effort in the Age of Sorcery and give more love this time.
Wak always gets good Interviews together. Just have a look back at his one with the Devs for Savage Wilds. Excellent, casual and very informative.
Thank you kindly, I do miss it so! My talents have been on hire for some closer-to-home projects, and right now I am winding up for more gaming content. Wak’s interview is on my list to watch, to help me make more sense of things.
Sorry, Wak may be your youtube hero, but watching him fight, I was totally unimpressed. Not only by his usage of knives on the undead, but the fact that he kept taking hits instead of dodging, never really blocked when he had a shield, and I personally think he is on a private server with a lower mitigated damage setting.
Just my personal opinion. I have never watched youtube videos of anyone playing CE, and when I watched the twitch streaming for that event, I was amazed at the lack of skill of people fighting mobs.
Not saying I am some uber player or anything, I have done the harder dungeons with friends, and was totally impressed by @codemage when we did the wine cellar together, so I know a very good player when I see one.
It looked like he was using B-roll footage from when the community challenged him to try to survive with daggers only. I could be wrong, but that’s what it reminded me of.
