I’m one of those weirdos who collects knives and I tend to gravitate towards sneaky-stabby-shooty classes in my games that allow it, so I mostly use daggers and a bow in my adventures throughout the Exiled Lands.
I haven’t played around with the various Legendary daggers enough to have a favorite among those, but for bows I usually stick with Eye of the Khan as soon as I get my hands on one. Until then I usually just work my way up the tiers like a chump and then use the starmetal-tier Khitan daggers and bow because of course I do.
The one handed axe stays on my wheel at all times. It’s great for closing the gap and applying bleed. I didn’t vote for it though.
The 2 handed sword used to be my go to but with the changes to the animations it get interrupted to often and it’s lost sunder. In my opinion it’s down right annoying to play with right now.
Recently I have chosen the 2 handed hammers as a go to. Little to no interruption and the ability to cause sunder and it closes the gap pretty well. Though the swings can sometimes send you in the opposite direction of your opponent wildly. That’s where I put my vote.
Daggers are fun but hard to use on small spiders as you can’t reach the hitbox very well.
My staff is mostly used as a gateway to other realms. My realm is more impressive than my staff. My castle can repair its self. And my dragon Rex is a dracolich. My realm is dangerous.
For the first 8 months or so, I was a poke and prod guy with a pike; couldn’t think of anything better. And then the server was wiped. Everything changed.
Watching my male character in third person truly helped me understand that these were not the cheeks I was looking for, thus a female toon. Along with that, I started feeling faster and smarter. Biology?
Now that I was faster and smarter I started experimenting with various weapons and couldn’t quite settle. So, I now carry five (5!) weapons. Dragon bow for poison arrows, the Reach for serious long range ballistic damage, and the funnest of the bestest daggers for in-your-face havoc-wreaking.
The Shank for the undead, Venom infused for the (not so long) living bosses and Whirlwinds for kinetic mauling. I don’t have this much fun killing IRL !
As someone who started his gaming life with Legend of Zelda, swords have always been a special thing to me. With that being said, I think that maybe the sword’s swing speed is a tad, slow. It feels like the sword is heavier than the axe in some ways and, no. I’m not saying revamp it to the old swing speed, but a slight decrease in time it takes to reach the next swing, as swords are generally pretty
Easy to swing. Also, I don’t like how the shield interrupts the new ending heavy swing for the sword. It’s a really nice animation of a good diagonal-horizontal slash. The shield is a necessity in combat to me, but it hinders the cool animation with its silly second bash. Shield attacks should be triggered through a different key, that way you can optionally combo with the shield’s bash at right moments instead of it bashing its way through a nice animation.
