So, just to take a break from the raid finder posts in the forums I want to know how other people feel about some stuff. I know I changed my opinions a bit from another thread someone did on the old forums back in the days.
So;
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance?
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
Which is your favourite class to play?
Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
Iāll start myself:
1a.) Tian-An (Fun fights, not very long, and somewhat challenging)
1b.) Reliquary of Flame (just overdosed on it I think)
2a.) Thoth-Amon (before nerf) - (Lots of things going on and people doing diffrent stuff in the fight. Used to be fun back then and always fun to se the evil wizard get beheaded)
2b.) Imp - (why does he have 602 384 482 health points?)
Priest of Mitra - Alright some spells are a bit slow to cast but I enjoy it and trying to micro manage as effective as possible. M my main class (sin) is a bit slacky without resposinbility)
Ranger (I know, boring choice - but I remember it before the upper/lower thingie when it acutally had bow/xbow combos) Salvo <3
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance? I always liked Black Castle, just seemed like such a cool place. I might be partial to it due to it being the first 6 man I ever did in AoC back in 2008, but I thought the place was awesome.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance? Probably a toss up between Cradle of Decay in Field of the Dead or Prison Colony in Thunder River. Just something about those instances didnāt go over with me.
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss? I always thought Chatha was a fun fight, but Thoth Amon is also high on my list. It was a good ending to the original storyline of AoC before the Khitai stuff hit.
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss? Garden Imp in T4, just boringā¦
3.Which is your favourite class to play? I always enjoyed playing my barb the most, even though itās never actually been my main class ever. Something about just wailing away at stuff with 2 swords/axes without the responsibility of tanking or healing.
4.Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite? I never really cared for Ranger even back in the day before it was made even more unfun to play. 2nd least favorite would be ToS, just never did anything for me.
1a) Ardashir Fort / The slithering Chaos, both can be done very quickly, the fights require some brain and situational awareness and can be fun if your group does not run around like headless chickens. For Ardashir Fort: I also love the armor the NPCs wear there and in Chaos, well the Avatar of Yig is probably one of the coolest looking (well, itās ugly but in a good way :D) bosses in the game.
Canāt really decide which one I like more.
1b) Scorpion Cave, I donāt really have that many instance I donāt like but Scorpion Cave is probably one of theseā¦ 99% of the groups that go there bug one boss, one boss is pure tank and spank, the scorpion archer is annyoing and Constantius is no real challange (especially if you play a ToS, it becomes another tank and spank fight for you). I also donāt like the look of this instance, the walls look like plastic because they are so shiny.
2a) Zodiac (before the nerf), I liked doing the puzzles while having to keep track of the seasonal essence and the bosses position, the enrage timer made it even more interesting because you had to push your DPS as high as you could.
2b) Sabazios, Stopped counting how often this guy crashed my game when I still had my old PC a few years ago. Worst fight ever with all the trash mobs.
Tempest of Set - I love ancient egypt, what could be more awesome than playing as a lightning summoning healer that looks like a pharaoh? Providing damage buffs and mana for the group is nice, solo healing while being able to do top DPS is really awesome.
Ranger / Demonologist - Ranger: speaks for itself I guess. Demo: I donāt know but all I need to do is spamming instant casts and then wait until Waves of Flames ran outā¦ ah yeah and activating the crit buff during SW.
1a) Tianāan district / Jade dugout - tian district is fun cos of the timetrial built in, its always exciting. Jade dugout is fun cos the challange is the control and teamplay of the whole group. Check my yt-channel for a 2man HM kill there with fass tos + guard.
1b) Vile nativity. The last boss is such a buzz-kill of a boss, awesome looking but the lamest fight in the game.
2a) Bat of nergal (Pre nerf) - The fight was drastically diffrent before the big nerfhammer, and I loved it back then :c
2b) Hard to not pick garden imp here, the health of that thing is so lame.
Its going abit back and fourth, but always coming back to my guard.
ranger - could have been top 3 if the caster-revamp never came
1a. I think it still is Amphitheatre of Karutonia. I love the feel of that place. Still remember walking up the stairs to see the Frost Father thereā¦ i was totally blown away. Too bad we never got the raid to fight him. (Hinted i think in his parting words )
1b. Least favorite is probbaly Scorpion Caves. There is no real feeling theree. All just gray and boring.
2a. Wellā¦ it has to be Tothy! Because it is Tothy! The fight is pretty good too. Many things happening and need to get right.
2b. Sabazios. Just lame. But standing on his back with a sin gave the aoe mages a run for their DPS.
I have played a lot of guard, sin and necro. It changesā¦ but i think HoX is the most unique class in any MMO.
I really like it!
1a. Ardashir Fort. Iām just getting going in the game again after a period of āretirementā and recently remembered how much I like this place. Wouldāve been Vile but the last boss is too easy.
1b. Den of Crowmen. Just find it boring. Iām not a fan of the crowman mob in general.
2a. Pre-nerf Bat of Nergal. Loved the mechanics and teamwork required. I remember the first kill, such a feeling of relief and excitement (itās on youtube somewhere, TS first kill of Bat) Now itās just pitiful. Did it recently for the first time after the nerf and I stood there at the start with bow in hand like a fool. Current one is probably T5 Champion of the Honorguard unless thatās been nerfed also. Not done it for a long time.
2b. Imp. Same reasons as already stated by others.
Barbarian. Flexible, mobile, dps monsters that can also offtank in certain instances. I tried dw conq but I just canāt seem to click with it.
Ranger. Itās not bad, just a bit dull really. Prefer melee.
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance?
I think itās Amphitheatre of Karutonia ā¦the way it used to be pre-unchained and also now as unchained. It was the second dungeon that my guildmates dragged me to when I was a naive baby Hox (after they had baby-sat me through Cistern) ā¦ and where we all laughed a lot as I failed to jump the lava streams again and again.
And also as the unchained version years laterā¦where I finally started to figure out my ToS as a group of us did a nightly foray into AoK UC in search of better purple weapons and that elusive protection ring for the tanksā¦where weād run around like headless chickens at the second boss and curse when we realised weād fail to get the rez pad again if we died a second time.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
I think itās Coppice of the Heart ā¦ so many unnecessary adds on the way down to the boss. Super- finicky hard mode trigger ā¦so easy to break the entire membrane whilst clearing adds. Also annoying to startā¦having to jump into the fight area or risk the boss getting triggered prematurely. Annoying mechanic of breaking outside veins whilst dealing with inner and getting the outside person(s) back into fight area in time ā¦and then have to finish off outer with ranged ā¦during which the boss is healingā¦which results in needing really high DPS or you canāt burn him down in the last phase without running out of room in the fight area to place the damage-dealing black gooā¦ Really annoying that one of the better HoX purples was in there when the groups usually only wanted one mage ā¦but never a HoXā¦ instead always asking for a demo or necro as they could do the black goo placement AND high dps.
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
Thoth-Amon, pre-nerf - it took a while to learn but once we had it was still a challenge but focussed co-ordination by the raid force could pull it offā¦ it was really satisfying. It pushed us to get better at CCās, heals, push our dps, react and move fast.
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
Imp - way to long and not enough interesting things happening. It was so repetitive and so long that the fight became our default guild meeting time.
Which is your favourite class to play?
HoX of course ā¦all those fiery fatalities ā¦ reaching into their chest and setting them alightā¦ and the best minion kill ā¦ ripping their heart out, taking a bite out of like it was a juicy apple then discarding it with a disdainful throw.
Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
Ranger. I did try to play it in tier 1 and 2 raidsā¦but I found I kept falling asleep.
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance?
probably Jade dugout, sepulchre of the wyrm is nice too.
Instances are fun with several boss encounters, with original mechanics. a few trash is ok.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
those with 1 million trash to kill and only very few bosses !
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
Thoth-Amon. I like Ethram-Fal too
a lot of other encounters like the old Zodiac or the old Bat of Nergal used to be good with very interresting mechanics but they have been ruined. =(
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
Imp in t4 is definitively the worse !
3 . Which is your favourite class to play?
Bear Shaman. awesome fatalities
4 . Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
cannot say, i have some fun with all of them every now and then.
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance?
Old world I say Atzel, because of precious memories with the guild and good laughs. I also love the look of Xiba and House of Crom. 1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
Pillars of Heaven because of traaaaaaaaaaaaaaash, and every dungeon in Dragonspine, because I have more to do fighting the environment (stones, lags, fog) than any mob or boss. 2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
Bat of Nergal pre-nerf, we killed it late, only a few month befor the nerfmonster hit it, and the whole T3,5 progression was just a blast, with guildies and friends from other guilds, it was the most awesome raidforce I ever had the honour to be part of.
To be fair and if you look closely most raidbosses have unique mechanics, which is one of the reasons I love raiding so much. I love fights that can be practiced, in which you can constantly get better and progress.
Zaal, Rocknoses, Thoth-Amon, Zodiac pre-nerf, Emperor. Fights that have tasks for most people, tasks they can learn and practice and get better in and work together like in a ballet or dancing routine 2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
Sabazios of course, the only raidboss I actually never cared for mechanics. And every fight that involves random things (Hathor-Ka, Arbanus, Zelandra!). I hate too much random stuff (to be more precise: stuff that hits random players ) , that singles out the players and prevent you from dragging along some people who do not play top notch. Random one hit stuff like Arbanus Blooddraw is poison to the social side of raiding. Which is your favourite class to play?
Barbarian, because it is my main. I enjoy playing all melees, caster not so much. Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
TOS, the only class I completely fail at.
1a. What is your favorite 6-man instance?
Old: Atzels when we all in blue gear trying to figure out how to play.
New: Tiāanāan or Xib both are decent, Still love the look of Sanctum.
1b. What is your least favorite 6-man instance?
agree with @Zaldar Prison Colony only gives blue gear?? and CoD just seems out of place and odd.
2a. What is your favorite Raid boss?
Hands down pre-nerf Zodiacā¦ Pre-nerf Thoth was a close 2nd.
2b. What is your least favorite raid boss?
Imp and Ethram
Which is your favorite class to play?
Guard
Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favorite?
DT just never liked it. And now that its completely broken, cant stand it.
Probably Jade Dugout HM, due to the coordination required. Was even better pre-nerf, when dps also had to be decent. In terms of atmosphere, I also really enjoy Xibaluku and Coils of Ubah Khan.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
This will have to go to a lowbie instance - Cradle of Decay, for silly amounts of trash and the incredibly annoying mechanics on the Mistress boss.
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
Thothie. Because he is the ultimate boss of the main campaign. And because thereās a lot going on in the fight. Shame he got nerfed
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
Garden Imp. A fight with boring mechanics, and itās not even a dps race. Boring.
Which is your favourite class to play?
Hard one. ToS is my main and itās a class that keeps you on your toes. But of course melees have the combo system going for them. HoX and BS are great choices as well.
Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
Clearly ranger, made a free level 80 and got bored after one single world boss kill
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance?
Iād say fort, especially for the last boss.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
I donāt like Slithering Chaos, because of the mechanics. And on top of that, the gems drops are way too random, which means that it requires a sh*tload of farming, to get what you want.
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
Emperor is definitely the most fun boss in game.
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
I think that the 3 spiky things in T6 are very annoying.
3. Which is your favourite class to play?
I really like to play HoX!
4. Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
I donāt like to play any of the tank classes.
Too many I like to pick just one. I love Ardashir fort and Vile and all Dragonās Spine 6 mans.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance?
Scorpion Caves Unchained. Itās just boring. Too much trash and a few bosses feels likes punching a couch.
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss?
I really like The Emperor before it got nerfed to itās current state. Same with Thoth Amon and I enjoy Ethram Fal because it feels tough like an endgame boss should feel.
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss?
Imp!!! Jesus Christ! Itās a snoozefest. I canāt do it without loud music or I will fall asleep. Maybe thatās the intended challenge ???
Which is your favourite class to play?
Barb and Hox. They just feel good to play
Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite?
Ranger was too boring to play, though I did level it as a melee just for science
1a.) Ardashir Fort (fun fight mechanics that need some coordination and good reaction from everyone, also not very long), (old) AoK in the pre-80 range
1b.) Coppice (guess i donāt find the whole fight all that appealing)
2a.) Faceless God (not sure exactly why, but always had great fun there; only place where charms are not just a nuissance), pre-nerf Zodiac
2b.) Yaremka (the Imp of Tier 2 for me, also easy to screw up with failing script or bugging orbs etc., also takes ages to wipe on, if you have to)
HoX (killing with style!, some of the best fatalities; also challenging, if you wanna do well on it, and equally rewarding, if you do so;)
probably Guard (never really āclickedā with me)
1a. What is your favourite 6-man instance? Ardashir Fort. Had some good times there.
1b. What is your least favourite 6-man instance? Probably AI District. IDK. Never liked it
2a. What is your favourite Raid boss? Old School Ahazu on a Tank
2b. What is your least favourite raid boss? Sebazio in wing 1
Which is your favourite class to play? DeeTee
Which class, that you have got to level 80, is your least favourite? Guardian
