What's the news on Tot ! Custom?

In that case, maybe the mod author should also stop releasing half-measure information that can be misinterpreted.

I understand the need to communicate progress with the mod subscriber community, but if the author doesn’t want the community to rage-post on Funcom forums (as they have said), then posting provocative stuff like this is counter-productive to that.

This is factually inaccurate.

The server admin can set limits for almost any variable. Among other things I have reduced the maximum bust size to something that would be possible without plastic surgery.

From what I remember It was a reaction to Joshtech banning a specific list of Steam IDs via his own mod. Quite a coincidence. The same teams and people who decided to create their own admin tools to replace the vacuum. How dare they do this after Joshtech himself announced that he will no longer update the mod.

Would you give us some insight into how and when Joshtech has been attacked? In this course of this dispute.

Well, don’t jump into RA’s Discord and remotely suggest they might have had something to do with the noise that started all this… or they’ll ban you. I don’t blame them… got to control the narrative that they had zero to do with it or face backlash from the community.

Weren’t they one of the parties offended by using parts of their mod without permission and when they tried to communicate they were told to FO? Or maybe it’s just my memory lacking… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This entire situation shows that alternative RP mod is needed for this community.
Author of current RP mod is in conflict with other Conan modders which is a fact and now to make things even worse he got into conflict with the game developers themselves.

Looks like the boat is sinking and RPing community should develop an alternative. If I was in your situation I wouldn’t be waiting for a miracle.

thats pretty sexist and people say tot people are the issue

Me sexist? (characterized by or showing prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex)
Never! I like women and women like me.

By the way, the API of Tot!Admin or Sudo is accessible to all, that of Pippi is not. This is also a decision of the responsible modder and is to be accepted.

Pippi can’t be accessible to all as it contains some magic components that belong to Funcom, it’s literally in Pippi description in workshop. But this thread is not about Pippi.

I care that Tot is vindicated and the community gets back a gem of a mod. But when it’s announced or shown what kind of edits and concessions Tot has/had to make to his mod(s) on next release, we’ll know exactly who was involved… assuming it gets reinstated.

So you tot-heads are waiting to be pointed towards who to harass this time, which discord server to raid, which mod to try to remove from workshop in act of retaliation?
You guys will never change…

The same teams and people who decided to create their own admin tools to replace the vacuum. How dare they do this after Joshtech himself announced that he will no longer update the mod.

Mate you still live somewhere around June 2022 and spread fake news, Josh releases updates and bug fixes after each game update.

I don’t know of any mod that has replaced Pippi with all it’s features. I know there were several upstarts but they were like “give me money and I am going to make an admin mod for you”, so I’ll rather stay with free Pippi instead of grabbing my credit card after each game update.

That’s what happened during that time frame.
Joshtech decided to abandon the development and support of his mod.
People decided to create their own tools.
Joshtech banned several mod teams via pippi (against steam workshop rules btw).
Then came the outrage and Joshtech roll back on his Steam bans.
After that debacle, he decided to continue the support of his mod.

So good man Josh, doing all that shit for free just for the community while not even playing Conan anymore. Respect!

Yes. Good for him and the community.
Sadly it didn’t revert the time before a very questionable decision on his part.
He did break the steam workshop rules and went straight after certain list of people simply because…ah yes the good old “I had my reasons.”

Why are you so emotional about this?
This event actually had shown how pathetic these people are. They talk shit about mod and it’s author, meanwhile they kept using his work and still do  :joy:

Pippi works, get’s updated and bug fixed, and it’s still the best admin mod out there.

EOT

I’m not emotional at all.
The only one who shows the emotions here is you.
You also go out of your way to insult people and even said yourself that you’re here to simply troll these threads.
The majority of top custom servers removed pippi from their mod lists and no longer use it.
It’s good that you can still use it and, from your point of view, it’s the best tool to use up to date.

and it’s still the best admin mod out there.

That is your opinion to which you are entitled. One that I do not share, though. I am working with a mix of Tot and TW. Can these two do everything what ‘Pippi’ can? No, not yet. But everything they do, they do better than anything JoshTech has ever provided. This does not mean than I am not grateful for anything that Josh had done in the past. But like with everything, whatever you do, one day there will come someone who does it better than you.

Amazing Josh didn’t get banned from Steam’s workshop after essentially turning his mod into targetted malware to be honest, since it crashed the game for certain people he didn’t like.

this is unchanged information given by the mod author

i still don’t get it why this all happened.
banning it only made it worse.

there is no “PR” that might attract new players by doing this, it just created a turmoil in the playerbase itself.

can’t be a money thing cause most players using mods have seen everything vanilla and are often considered “whales” (buying most of the bazaar stuff).

can’t be the reason “toxic playerbase / creating a toxic environment” because the ban started attracting trolls and militant players, which would be shooting yourself in the foot and then blaming the gun.

instead of trying to communicate with the author or the community itself just banning the mod is the worst decision ever for a solution on this matter.
funcom is a company and if they would have wanted, there would have been a way to open communications, this is not a one man developer game

never believed it but community communications by funcom are bad and this is the best example

i just can’t wrap my head around this and trying to drown it in silence is making everything worse

Did it kick a player to the menu, exit the game or cause the game to hard crash? I don’t use either joshtech or tots mods so I really don’t know the ins and outs of the saga.

Preventing users from using a mod via kicking to the main menu or exiting the game via blueprint is not actually a breach of either the steam user agreement or steams rules and guidelines for “User-Uploaded Content” as suggested in this topic.
(although it is frowned upon and I personally wouldn’t do that in any of my mods)

It was crashing the game client the moment they were trying to join a server with pippi mod in a server list preventing them from joining any roleplay server at that time because it was the only option at that time and heavily dominated by pippi mod.

When I say hard crash I mean when you get the crash reporter message box, if it was just closing to desktop that’s not a crash, but if it was hard crashing and displaying the crash reporter, that is a tad naughty.

From what I remember it was displaying a crash reporter message box.
But I’m not really sure because it was a long time ago.

To be honest I would be surprised if it was causing a hard crash, I don’t see why any mod author with a mod with pippi’s sub count would risk causing actual crashes, but again I don’t know the ins and outs.
