That is your problem.
Donât go to a sever that is full constantly, or often. It means a couple hundred players cycle through there, and itâll be crowded and full of drama. You wonât be able to avoid the grief.
Join a server that has a small or mid range population, 20ish players during peak times, 30ish on weekends at the most. Quiet time, expect 5-15 people to be online.
Play often and build a community, ez game, lots of fun for months.
Those giant servers are a bloated mess, not worth it.
P.S. Griefers go where there are plenty of players to grief. They wonât spend weeks or months building up on a quiet server to troll a small handful of people. (Generally).

Shurely the issue here is Undermeshing on official servers, and not wheither players are wrong or silly for playing on official servers.
Personally i gave up private servers a long time ago in any game for a variety of reasons. which has nothing to do with this post. So i wont go into it. ( no need to thank me )
Surely playing on an official PvP server should be a viable choice if one wants to moke it.
Right now its not.
Pooblem---- Undermeshing / exploits / cheating.
Solution----- Fix it. Not Be forced to move to a private or PvE or Single player server.

Players are neither wrong nor silly to play on official servers â it can be an okay experience. However, once you learn that official servers are not moderated, expecting good behavior from all players is optimistic at best, naĂŻve at worst.
You can avoid that if you find a private server with settings that donât break the game, and without drama. I still havenât found one. The one closest to that ideal was in a region where I got 300+ ping, which is unplayable, especially with the new dodge. And even that one had mods that allowed you to throw out the window whatever passes for balance in this game.
So basically, itâs stay on official servers and eventually get screwed by trolls, griefers and cheaters, or search for a private server and hope you get lucky.

Genuinely asking (and breaking topic) but what are your preferred settings?

Official PVE(-C). The game can go up to official PVP settings (x2 on some things, x4 on some others) without feeling broken. But you would be surprised at how many private servers rack up the harvest multiplier rate to x5, for example. And that has a much bigger impact on the gameplay experience than people would like to believe.
