Xbox Halloween Update (31.10.2018)

Today we are kicking off our Halloween event, which will run throughout the game during the next week. Welcome, exiles, to the Night of Lost Souls!

The sky will darken as perpetual dusk falls upon the landscape, casting it in black shadows and blue light, tearing at the boundaries which separate the world of the living from the realms of the dead. The clouds will part. A new face will appear upon the moon’s surface. It is the face of death, keeping watch over whatever might stir on the ground below.

During the Night of Lost Souls, stones will fall from the sky in multitudes, striking the earth in a flurry of colored smoke and debris. Adventurous exiles can break open these stones with whatever tool they have available. Inside, they will find a plethora of crafting ingredients, both rare and common, doled out at random by the spirits lingering inside the stones, anything from Plant Fiber and Meat to Explosive Glands, Arrows and Steelfire. It all depends on the spirit’s goodwill.

Inside the fallen stones you will also discover the Potion of Lost Souls, a special brew only available on this hallowed night. Imbibing the Potion will grant you certain benefits at random. Drink one and see what happens, but don’t drink too many or your body will suffer the consequences. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

After a week, the Night of Lost Souls will pass and the sun will once again rise on the Exiled Lands. The restless spirits will be calm, yet their gifts will remain with those who received them.

Known Issues

  • Certain doors have the wrong collision (we are already working on a hotfix for this)

  • Issue with the camera in the character creator
  • Halloween meteors are sometimes not visible even though the particle effects show

Hello, some unfortunately negative feedback here.
Firstly, this event has made my single player game unplayable. Constant, never-ending meteor showers that bog the frame rate down to such a low fps that navigating menus is almost impossible, and no settings in the menu to change anything to do with the event. The meteors don’t even stay spawned long enough to harvest, assuming I could actually move to them in the first place.

Secondly, although the event seems to be running okay on our rented server, there doesn’t appear to be any config settings related to the event available on the G-Portal server settings web page.
All of which is a moot point as the blue tinge is giving my wife eyestrain, meaning we won’t be able to use our paid for product for a week at least. And yes, we have tried altering the gamma settings in game. It makes no difference to her comfort levels.

We already collected a few known issues from the other platforms and I wanted to post them here as well:

  • Possible to walk through a specific type of door (we are already working on a hotfix for this)
  • Game is way too dark and torches or light-sources seem to not work as intended (we are investigating and have an idea what could be the issue).
  • Issue with the camera in the character creator
  • Halloween meteors sometimes not visible even though the particle effects show

Sincerest apologies for the frustration this is causing. We are trying to address these as fast as we can.
I absolutely understand that these issues are upsetting but please try to keep the input constructive.

Thank you for the feedback  We do appreciate constructive criticism

If you plug a keyboard into your Xbox you can set the spawn and decay rate of the meteors with the following console commands (hit Insert on your keyboard to bring up the console menu):

  • SetServerSetting HalloweenMeteorDecayTimer=X
    – The higher number, the rarer meteors are. Set this to a low number for more or less constant meteors.
  • SetServerSetting HalloweenMeteorSpawnTimer=X

We also realize that these changes aren’t for everyone and we’re monitoring player feedback.

what is the default time for meteors to show up? Amazing event btw! Congrats on ur first one!

I like the event was only see once the meteors too harvest in the vulcano after i was go true a lodingscreen too frost dragon and then back nice loot in them love the spooky sounds and the bats by using doors but its a littel bit tooo dark for that it is a event for 1 week

Mine works after default settings in single player.

Need to Hotfix Stonebrick doors. Currently Stonebrick doors are not working properly. IT allows players to walk through them directly. all other doors are working currectly. The only fix currently is replacing door frame with t1 or t3 doorframe and t3 door or t1/t1 doorframe and door and insulated doorframe and door.

Thanks for all the great things you are doing with the game, as I play on the Xbox one x , on single player, the meteors are coming down constantly, and the game becomes choppy ,and the meteors disappear fast. This you know . But what if you do not have a keyboard to plug into the xbox to adjust the timing? Just a question. Thanks I know you are working on it.

Thanks for the replies @Tascha and Jens_Erik. Will try that later. Managed to resolve the visual problems with a combination of adjusting the gamma and display mode settings on the TV. Took some getting right, but now has an appropriate level of ominous while still being playable. Love everything else about the game, btw. Just thought I’d let you know so not all the feedback is negative.

I can confirm on offical pve conflict server i was see the meteors drop maby 50 meters away from me was run ther and only see the purpel dust nothing too harvest i only get it 1 time too harvest it was near the vulcano obelisk and i only was see them because i was go true a loding screen too the frost dragon and then back too the vulcano and magickly they show up all otherr places look like buged on x box

Hi, I am wondering why I keep dying while logged out? Is there a way to fix it? I used to be able to log out and was fine while I was away. Now even “safe” in our beds we all die and everything is lost while we are logged out.

I don’t know about the decay timer, but the spawn timer seems to be seconds.
The default values for these settings is one second, which might work for the April fools event, but it’s still pretty ridiculous…

I’m playing a solo game, and have tried to use the console commands mentioned above. But there seems to be no effect at all. My console commands are working (with the issues caused by the meteors, the console command is the only way I can turn on admin mode)

I’m totally unable to play due to the unending meteors

Just to put the information out there to anyone playing an SP game, I disconnected my Xbox from the internet and was able to stop the meteors from spawning. Here’s the steps I took:
1- Disconnect Xbox from the internet in network settings(Go Offline)
2- Power Xbox off and disconnect power cord for about 15 seconds
3- Plug everything back in and when Xbox is back on go into settings->system->time and set the date to November, 7th, 2018.
4- Start Conan and go into your SP world and choose to play offline. For me about 3 more meteors spawned and then it stopped.
5- Quit the game and then go back to your network settings and reconnect to the internet. (Your date/time will automatically fix itself)
6- Now go back to your game and select your world and this time select to do Co-Op. For me another 3 meteors spawned and then stopped.
After this I waited about 30 minutes and didn’t see any more meteors, but I went ahead and got a keyboard and set both the spawn and decay timers to 900. Have been playing for about 1hr now and haven’t experienced the constant meteor spawn again yet. Meteors will spawn about 5-6 at a time and will last long enough for me to collect them all. Will update if the infinite lag rain comes to my world again.
