You promise but you don't deliver! - Consoles Update

Hello everyone

I don’t understand what is wrong with funcom, I understand that they are busy and so on, but if they are promising players that the update will arrive at the end of march for ps4 players, please do it or don’t say anything about the next updates. People pay money for servers and dlc and expect to get what they have been promised. Not just wait for updates that never come. You care more about pc gamers than console gamers and for what. Pc gamers have more lag than ps4 gamers, I don’t know about xbox gamers, but don’t forget that not everyone plays on pc. If they care more about pc gamers then they should make an exclusive game for pc not for consoles uswel. Please do what you promised or don’t give false information. No one will want to spend their money on a game that already has many server crashes and other lag issues, the game has been released since 2018 and still no progress on the lag issues. Shame on you guys.

To have your account removed you have to pm one of the dev @Dana is one then they will help get it done and what they need from you to do so.

For starters they never promised anything. They said that they hoped to have the update out by the end of the month. It was never set in concrete so I have no idea why so many people have taken it as such. Secondly the update WAS sent to Microsoft and Sony for certification BEFORE the end of the month. It’s now up to both of those companies to do their jobs which Funcom has no control over. People need to chill. I’ll finish with this, a lot of us have been asking for more communication from funcom. We screamed for it actually and they have delivered. I’ve even read no less than two apologies from the devs that they weren’t quite able to make the schedule they set. And now you’re asking them to cease informing us about updates unless that information is 100% accurate. Wow.

Cause they got nothing else better to do and me personally they can scream and cry all they want I’m still here and patience am I for new updates and dlc which will be in my library and then when updates here they be mad about how the changes things that did not need to happen and you hurt my play style…etc. welcome to the world slowly burning down from the ignorant and assumption makers. I want to see what they have in 2.4 after all 3.0 is release of siptah on console and we still have 2.5, 2.6, 2.7,2.8,2.9  this will be awesome :sunglasses: with all changes to come and I can wait

But there has got to be a middle point between radio silence and this PR nightmare…come on, if Amazon says it should be there in two days but the shipper takes a week EVERY SINGLE TIME…do you get angry with FedEx or do you get angry with Amazon for keeping making wrong assumptions?

Pr nightmare seems a bit dramatic. What’s a week or two after 6 months waiting. They have kept us up to date and we were informed before the date arrived that it was going to be a little late. If they had not delivered and there was no word from them I’d understand the outcry. Months ago I was jumping up and down myself. Since then funcom have become much better at communicating with us. People are straight up just being unreasonable at this stage. It’s not like we are waiting for legs to walk with. It’s a game update. The update is finished. It’s in certification. Some people will just not ever be happy unless they get exactly what they want, when they want it. Funcom has taken some nice steps forward lately for us console users and it would suck for a small amount of impatient and entitled posts to make them feel like they have wasted their efforts and turn back the way they came. Who wants to go back to months at a time with not only no updates, but no communication as to wether to even expect one.

No…this one is a devil of their own making. Instead of ensuring consoles were updated timely with the PC updates, they postponed them all (I am assuming to redirect resources to Siptah and the issues therein over there) . They said it would be released by the EOM. And I am sorry but pointing to certification of BOTH microsoft and sony as the issue?..yeah give me the exact date these two companies got the entire work to them…Sorry but two heavily competitive companies and both are dragging their feet on updates? I’m not buying that story and I really believe this was a hot potato and suddenly on the 30th it was tossed to both companies and Funcom tells all of us ‘it’s in certification process now…we tried’.

No which part? I’m not a stupid person but a simple no means very little when placed against an entire comment lol. Certification wether you like it or not doesn’t happen immediately. Jump on google and you’ll find a plethora of articles about it. Those two big competitive companies stand to gain absolutely nothing no matter how long the process takes. You’re not going to run out and buy an Xbox because Sony are a bit slower with certification. Life must be full of frustration and disappointment if absolutely everything someone tells you has to happen at the exact time they say it’s going to happen or your world falls apart.

And certification typically takes around 5 days. That’s business days. It’s Easter…

Whatever man. But if you don’t expect excellence, you get mediocre. They have years of experience with MS and Sony. They should know within a week how long it will take. To just shrug and say ‘oh well’…yeah sorry still their product, regardless, and they just told a significant chunk of their customer base that they are an afterthought. This isn’t about just the recent developer discussion or the releases on the forum last week…this is a systemic issue of ignoring two of their revenue streams and the customers within for over 6 months…only to come back and say all of these updates that they postponed is hard to get through certification? Hey maybe…just maybe they do them right with PC with only a 5 day certification separating them. Heck I don’t blame the employees…this is a strategy decision to ignore consoles. So yeah…after months of ignoring, when they finally say they got all the updates ready to roll on X date…I expect X date because clearly it must be picture perfect to wait so long. I’m not being unreasonable here or a Karen…just tired of the excuses.

Don’t get me wrong bud, have a look at my previous posts, I am not a fan boy by any means. Funcom absolutely not only dropped the ball with consoles, they kicked it clear out of the park. I hate what has happened to the server pop in what is my favourite game. They are losing customers fast and it sucks and it is absolutely their own fault. I’m more trying to say hang in there mate. They do seem to have turned a small corner lately. Communication is better, the acknowledgement that they messed up is there. I just don’t want to see even more people walk away from the game :pensive: peace bud :v:

I’m not demonising anyone lol. Having been a very vocal, borderline anti-funcom poster here since 2018 I can see the difference in both their efforts to communicate and their general attitude towards console users. I don’t know about you but if I went to greater lengths to please a certain crowd and said crowd continued to throw egg at me I’d be inclined to walk away. I don’t want that to happen. if you watch the dev stream you posted, which I have he says that the final build for 2.3 is in testing NOT certification. A big difference. He said they were hoping to release at the end of the month which they unfortunately did not, and they have made several apologies for this. It’s all right there in the video you posted up bud. I’m just here giving my opinion on an open forum. Ppl can either read it or not, and consider it demonising or not :man_shrugging: Water off a ducks back either way for me, I’ve got 3 teenage kids so I’m used to my opinion being slung back at me :joy:

No need at all for apologising mate. I am just as frustrated as everyone else, and I used to be right there in the trenches lobbing bombs at funcom. I just think that with the increased efforts on funcoms side and the recent spate of apologies from them, we owe them another chance to prove us wrong.

Completely understand and share your frustration. I mean even Croms Faithful was in here throwing a bit of polite shade around about not getting the update before the holidays and he has been someone that has tried to be the voice of reason on some of my more bitter posts. The update is LONG overdue and Funcom have lost and will lose more loyal customers like yourself and it’s a real shame. I really don’t want to see the final shovel load of dirt thrown on the coffin that is the official console servers. It’s hard enough now to find experienced, nice people to play with now on console.

I have had zero good experiences on any pvp private server. Admin abuse and playing favourites amongst friends is rife. It’s their server they can do what they want, I get that, just count me out. The rp and pve private servers are a lot of fun and offer heaps of things that officials don’t, but when the server owner has had enough that’s it, server is gone. I love the officials, the grind is what makes it feel like a battle to survive and tbh I just want to know that when I go to log in everyday the server will be there. I can’t wait for Siptah!! So excited to explore new areas and dungeons. Good luck my friend, I hope it works out for you.

I’ll only PVP on official for that specific reason. Prefer it to PVE because there is the thrill of loosing it all if you mess up.
