Again, that’s just your opinion, based on your own experiences. I’m on an EU server and it’s not at all like that for me. And also again, I’m not going in with the assumption that they’re all jerks which I’m sure makes a huge difference!
This isn’t meant to diminish your experience: as a player across US, some old EU servers and elsewhere, PvP is full of dicks. It’s the rare server where you find non-dickishness, and if you’re powerful enough, funny enough, or an even bigger dick you can take the place over. I’m really glad you’ve been welcomed and embraced.
Not to mention the subjective nature of acceptable vs toxic behaviors…all we have is our own takes and a semi democratic consensus of how the pvp community is. I will say that Siptah pvp is drastically more brutal/draconian than EL pvp. I will also say that the pvp community today is far more WAAC than 2019 pvp.
That’s a normal migration during the aging of a PvP game, in my opinion. Sony cultivates a playerbase that’s usually rules-based and concerned with honor and rep, therefore as those adherents trickle away from the game over time, the toxic slowly takes its place. Siptah is WAAC, and my hopes are that after 3.01 shakes out, two game forms arise.
@Taemien 5 guys who have been playing the game for 10 days getting annihilated by 5 vets who have been playing since launch is not good pvp. It’s not a fair fight. There is no winning that. Especially when the vets have been force feeding their thrall pork every hour on the hour since server reset….any more bs from you?
Then uninstall. That’s my advice to anyone getting trounced and wanting to quit. Players with a quitting attitude are not wanted in the PVP community.
@Taemien so now you’re the voice of the pvp community? You’re probably not even good. You’re a zergling by your own admission and imo probably just one of the farmers. The fighters at the end of the day probably let you dress up like a big boy and grab an axe and caddy bombs and arrows for them. Gtfoh
@Kapoteeni , white Rabbit is a master carpenter(among many other trades) who is literally on his feet all day, sees grass, feels the sun on his skin as well as the wind and heat in his face. You couldn’t walk an hour in my shoes.
or just add players if there is influx of new players. Having our “modest” home destroyed which we have built for 2 years now… well… there are games.
@Sairdontis the devs have made their money off you….and they gotta realize that growth is the key since the population keeps increasing exponentially……there’s more money in futures just bc there’s gonna be twice as many people. But guys like you figure you paid for the game so in your mind you own the game and if you wanna run off the new clients to protect your own jealous position then you feel validated in doing so, coz you own the game. Shouldn’t you be farming zeal for the bubble or something?
Yet those same 5 vets started off the same way. What’s your point? It’s a game the longer you play the better you get. No one starts of destroying anyone in 90% of pvp games. Also you can only pork once now so make sure to check your facts before arguing for the sake of arguing. You’re attitude is very condescending and a bit annoying as I skim thru here.
I think instead of master carpenter you are jack of all trades master of none.
I say, PvE / PvE-C do not require a hard reset for 3.0.
For PvP, since I do not play on, I have do not care one way or the other.
Although realistically, fair or not based on conversation above on the topic, it is seriously doubtful you will get a hard-reset for PvP servers when 3.0 launches, when they already stated they will not do a wipe. They will need a seriously good reason to do so since they already on record they will not do a wipe.
This is not to say, they will not do some type of reset or wipe in the future…let say 4.0 for example. If that is something is really wanted by most PvPers, then that something they may look into.
Since we’re sharing opinions - hard pass on a full wipe.
If I was going to zerg you, you wouldn’t even be able to login until all your stuff decayed. Last time I used a zerg tactic was in a MMORPG and we emptied the server there. What chance do you think a 40 man limit has?
And you somehow think a wipe would stop this? You’re clinging to a false sense of hope. If you want any sort of chance you’re going to need to learn to be less anti-social, swallow your pride, and make some friends. But I doubt you’ll be able to do this.
Probably not, because it’s hard to find shoes that fit my feet. Other than that, you know nothing about me, so how about you quit with that baseless dismissive attitude towards other forum users?
I agree! I even wrote an essay on the subject a couple of years ago.
Meh, just tell them to put in a “league” already
Count your kills… give you displayable barbarian titles, shiny diamond and master statuses… or give out some candy for the good boys who fought well… idk
Then all of you don’t have to be so grumpy all the time and try to find reasons to fight people on the forums as a way of a… khm… “shoe” measuring competition.
As for the resets, idk… originally the game was designed with periodic resets in mind to avoid “overgrowth”… that obviously changed since so at this stage probably not a good idea and the solution would lie in implementing more systems similar to decay to try and control things through those.
Strongly disagree. I’m saying this as somebody who plays casually on PVE.
I got tired of playing the refresh game. So when I do sign on now it’s only with the stuff I have on my body. I build a mini-base, put down chests, and go adventuring. When I’m going to be gone longer than a week, I pick up everything I can and log.
Why should I get wiped of the small amount of gear I do have, just because somebody on the forums thinks that I should “recognize rebuilding is even more fun since you have learned a lot since you built that earlier base.”
But there is the SP option for you that would save your progress. Online play requires being online. Each PVE server is a community (just like PVP) and so someone that just jumps in and creates larger builds right out of the box isn’t getting to learn the community with starting fresh at the dessert. Having restarted several times from complete wipes in PVP, it doesn’t take long to gain everything you have lost and then some when you lose everything. It also puts the focus back on the play vs the collection stuff which is exactly where the fun happens. Look there will always be folks that get the short end but everyone that fits into that gets the same short end.
Why should you get wiped of your small amount? Because there are a sizable amount of folks that are using it to abuse the system and create havoc on an entire server. It’s the same reason I have to deal with Meta because apparently if there isn’t a shiny cool new toy in each revision that overshoots all other things in the game, no one is buying it and then come to terms with its inevitable nerf. For the betterment of the game and player base health, we need to sacrifice some of our wants as long as it meets a fun factor we enjoy. If enough gets removed that you enjoy, you will leave. I hope the game has more to it than a body vault of items for your character that keeps you playing otherwise you are just a dead customer walking and will leave eventually anyways when some glitch or accident happens and you lose it all.
All good opinions. My guess on pvp it’s close to a split in regards to wiping everything. I think a easy solution would be to introduce a few official servers with monthly or 2-3 month wipes. That way all the people who think body vaults are so bad will quickly understand any determined team can be absolutely dominate in just a couple days.
And yes there is always private we know.
