Hello everyone! I’m playing in official Asian server, had an encounter with the clan, helped them but then they stabbed me in the back, I called my friends to join but we all new players, and they are pretty experienced, so I may be overreacting or maybe not. What is the situation, I’ve built a hidden base, to hide my resources (underwater in the cave) and just around half an hour ago server got laggy for me and my friend, like 1fps (menu works fine) then after 10 minutes only I received the same lag, right after those lags I could see that this clan is raiding my hidden base, is there a cheat like to locate the base or something like that? And the major question is how to know if you are playing against cheaters?
Update, everytime their player sends the dot in the global chat lagfest starts
Hi @Vankamanka and welcome to the Forum. I am replying only as another PvP player, gathering information from you if you’re willing, with no official capacity at Funcom or in this Forum. This is simply for me as a glitch tester/hack or crack finder.
A. Were you inside your base when the lag appeared? If not, where were you and where was your friend?
B. What language does the clan in question chat/speak, and are you fluent in it?
C. Were you able to repel the raid?

The lag could be because of the amount of chests you have plus the explosions from the raiding as these storage spots rapidly turn to lootbags.
As far as hidden bases go, there is one META that kills most hidden bases and that is the foundation sweeping where the scouting clan just pulls out a construction hammer and tests if they can put a foundation in a spot. If they come to an area that gives them the message “Area already claimed”, then they know a base is near regardless of height.
A: I were outside and inside the base as well, because there were several waves of lags, today server is totally broked, NPCs and dungeons are not working properly, lags constantly appear.
B: Chinese, yes currently I’m studying in China and I can talk with them
C: Nope, it happened so fast that the moment I’ve arrived base were vanished and they did not take anything according to the logs, just destroyed everything

Thank you, that is all very helpful. Without naming names or specifics, was there anything in their chat that would make you believe they were cheating? Any brags, or even inferences?
I will check around a bit today in my off time after work and see if there are similar reports elsewhere. I hope your server can return to normalcy soon.
It doesn’t take much compute time to build a base. It does take compute time for the rocks to fall into small moving pieces, and that causes lag.
At this point a DDOS and a massive destruction going on probably looks the same unless you (your toon) are the target. I can usually tell the difference by the patterns in rubberbanding.
Their clan tag is blank, when you see their structures it says: it belongs to “(blank space)”. And you can’t specify in the “players online” who is playing with them, anyway I saved screenshots with their ids just in case. When I were running around the world on of their clan members warned me that I should be humble, if I will meet any player and fight him he could be a cheater “if you make cheater angry he can turn on his cheats” that what they said. I called my friends to help me, we want to force them in to more or less fair fight and if they are cheating record it.

The lag does not finish unless you will respawn, I removed my bracelet once one more wave started after seeing dot in the global chat, lag disappeared once I’ve respawned, but my friend still lagged until he removed his bracelet as well, also the last wave I were checking the player list and my friend were playing, when that player sent the dot in chat again my friend started lagging, but I did not lag, and also I did not see the dot in chat, means if you are in menu you don’t see that dot in global, so you don’t lag. Dont really understand how it works

What’s the problem with that? There is a place underwater, the cave under ice. I’m new to the game, took that base location from the YouTube guide

i never heard of such way to lagging the server
are they douches? yes! punish them (damage all their bases and troll them without breaking the TOS)
but are they cheaters? no evidence of that for now, some screenshots and videos would be helpful
The main question how good your base was hidden?
and how quickly they manage to locate it?
and probably, there no hidden spots left (without glitching) at EL at all so…
So that is the reason why a made this thread, to know how to locate cheaters, how they behave in this game and what can they do, I did not said they are cheaters, if blank clan name is not bannable could you help me and tell me how to do it? Thanks) I know I need solid reason and a good video for calling them cheaters, but that “coincidence” with the dot in chat five/six times in an hour looks strange anyway.
They have numbers right now, but if I will manage to keep my last base unseen and wait till my friend will gain a lvl 60, I think we can fight them 3 v 6 and then the answer will be revealed, if they are cheaters they will definitely use cheats to fight us, if not then everything is just a weird coincidence. That hidden base could be easily found by the META searching that Erjoh posted above, but the fact how fast they raided it and it was during the lagfest, is weird, they just did it in the matter of seconds cuz they passed around 5 wall layers at the same minute when the door were reported destroyed

The dot in chat is used to test a players ping to the server. The longer it takes for the dot to appear the more ping they have. It’s well known that sketchy things happen in Conan when your ping is high, or a server lags.

The person that were written the dot were logging off right after lagfest were started, I played on that server for two weeks and never seen anything like that
For convenience’s sake, I’m linking another post that has to do with the invisible clan name exploit:
There have been ways to lag the client as long as you’re viewing the chat. It has come in many forms. It could be as simple as 1 sentence with special characters. As long as you see the chat it will lag you.
So yes, the dot COULD be this exploit.
Turn off chat completely and spend some time on the server. If you don’t experience the same lag as consistently, this could be an indicator. But it’s really hard to say.
Lag can be induced by simply raiding a base regardless if it is resource intensive. I could usually tell if someone was being raided on an active server simply by the lag.
It would be extremely hard to prove esp and is probably the most common cheat available. Why is it hard? Because there are usually dedicated scouts in serious pvp clans. Being one, I would have found you.
Never, ever, take your advice from Youtube videos for “hidden” spots, they’re no longer hidden.
