PC Hotfix (14.01.2019) - Anti-flooding tools and crash fixes

Edit: Quick fix just went out. Hey all, we just put out a quick fix. We fixed an issue introduced with latest patch that affected unarmed fist attacks, kicks, and some actions with shields. No server restart needed but you will need to update your clients; restart Steam if you don’t see it.

Hey folks, we’ve got a hot new hotfix coming at you for the PC version of Conan Exiles! With this update we’re adding in anti-flooding tools to the game’s engine as a counter measure against certain exploits that have been brought to our attention by the community.

Later on we will add a feature that will kick players that send too many commands to the server at the same time.

Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your current database before updating to any new patch if you have mods installed.

I sure hope this fixes the non harvest or damage but that happens for hours on end starts near pvp time and doesn’t correct until server restart and on issue of report tool 8 of us reported the problem from 30 mins after til 7 hrs later and nothing got resolved which usually only thing is server reset. I sent in report 4 times myself. This is on pve-c server don’t know if other type servers being effected or not.

Patch Bug:

Maybe defaulted to controller mode?

What happened to the controls? After this patch my character doesn’t back up anymore. and runs sideways instead of sidestepping.

I can replicate MadNomad’s issue, my character faces in the direction he’s moving in when sidestepping or backing up (A, S, D).

Same… When I try to walk backwards away from someone my body turns completely around and I expose my back.

Controller Style Moment Auto/On/Off This setting is bugged and changing makes no difference when selected.

Had the same problem but turning off Controller Style Movement resolved it though.

But i have another problem which is that when i focus something, my camera follows it like crazy instead of staying focused behind my character at the same height.
Turning off, on and off, “Subjective view during combat” didn’t changed it.

That wasn’t working before, but you have to exit in a very specific way.
Do not use escape.

Settings > Gameplay > Controller Style Moment - Off
Click Back , Then Resume.

Switching the aforementioned Option to “OFF” in the settings fixed the movement for me, other characters still turn towards the direction they’re moving in when sidestepping or backing up for me, though.

Another thing is that unarmed combat doesn’t seem to work for me anymore, neither by clicking, nor by using the ‘draw/sheathe weapon’-function. My character raises his fists for a fraction of a second, then exits the stance as if I sheathed the weapon. Hitting the walk toggle while trying to throw punches allows me to do so temporarily until I switch back to normal speed. Can anyone confirm?

I need back the old non Controler mode :frowning:

Works fine for me. Since blueprints were altered, might have to do the ole mod check.

Targetting is wonky after this dropped. As I get closer to my target my character looks higher then normal instead of right at them. Some times this causes my character to swing over their head. Anyone else having this issue?

There are indeed issues with melee combat and we are already looking into this and the movement issues reported. Thanks for the feedback so far

Turning controller style movement off, then pressing q to target something fixed the issue for me.
