Racism on servers

Ok, I laughed!

Yes i hope funcome act befor the media(Norwegian newspaper) do, i dont know how its in youre home contryes …

See now i like this solution, build a mega clan for Civil Rights and get them to wipe the racist fools… Completly agree with everything you wrote here. Its why i play on a private server and not official. It is a shame that Funcom wont stop any griefing and just leaving their Servers as lawless wastegrounds.

Racism is a joke. Use logic instead.
“If people use words to make another race feel hated or hunted” - this makes my brain feel fuzzy. You are actually aware that skin tone doesnt determine race? We’re all ■■■■ sapiens regardless if you’re black, white, yellow, brown or green with pink spots (seek medical assistance if this is the case though). A black rhino belongs to the same race as a white rhino for the love of Yog! Discrimination is a more accrurate word of use in your case, and dont make that “race discrimination” now, forget about those irrelevant skin colors ffs.

I think you’re confusing race for species. They are two different things.

In biology, races are genetically distinct populations within the same species.

Yes it give people freedom to express themself but dont forget what it alos regulate what you cant say, what not a part of freedom of speech.

No freedom if speech is quite clear on whats not ok to say, atleast in Europé. Yes in other area of the world maybe not that clear.

It will makes more sense to just laugh in the face of discrimination because otherwise the “offender” gets the desired reaction and emotionel response and therefore continues. Its the same with other controversial topics and comments - Dont let it ruin your mood. Why even care about being called dehumanizing words? Its just words. They cant touch nor harm you, unless you make it matter, but then it is YOUR problem and not the world. I am not justifying the lowlife populations actions towards other people, but its a meaningless fight, just like the so called “war on drugs”.
Edit: grammar

Yeah that was funny I remember watching that trial man makes me feel old

Ugh. A game based on story of slavery, rape, racism and slaughter and still somehow the PC police complain.

This is one of the last types of games you should be playing if you are offended by things.

I concur. As a minority it feels weird defending racist speech, but I would rather have the freedom to know who’s a PoS than never know because people aren’t allowed to truly be themselves.

Well that’s a gross over-exaggeration. Just because people tell others to grow a thicker skin doesn’t mean they willingly ignore racism/sexism, it usually means people are tired of over-sensitivity. Myself, for example. I’ve dealt with so much of it growing up that I’ve grown a decently thick skin. I also learned growing up that many of these people do this to get a reaction from someone, and if you react, you fed the troll. I’ve had people walk up to me in high school and call me racial slurs to my face, hoping to start a fight, and when they did I just started busting up laughing. When they see you laughing, most of them just turn around and walk away.

What people consider “racist” isn’t always bad, either. What I mean by this is that I’ve been told I’m racist all because I think asian women are beautiful. There’s just something about asian features that I really enjoy, but because I do, I’m a racist pos. Seriously, I’ve been told this by people on the “progressive left” before. Sorry that I’m a hispanic minority who doesn’t have that stupid “I don’t see color” viewpoint many white people I know have. The world is a beautiful, colorful place, and I will not blind myself to it for fear of being labeled “racist”. If that makes me a bad person, then so be it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sometimes I enjoy racist humor as well, as long as it’s not meant to actually hurt someone. The best way to put this would be to give an example from my life. I used to work for a Best Buy, and when an employee leaves they get checked by the SWAT person up front. Well, whenever a new person was doing the job, I would start walking out the door and they’d stop me because they need to check me. I always loved looking them dead in the eyes angrily and say “You’re doing this because I’m brown, aren’t you??”. I swear every single one of them came close to crapping their pants whenever I’d do that. lol I’d then laugh, apologize and tell them I’m just messing with them. XD

None of this stuff has power, unless you give it power. Many people who do this aren’t really racist at all, they’re just ■■■■■■■■ that like to upset people around them, or in other words, “trolls”. Any negative reaction feeds them.

There is truth to this, but it’s also a double-edged sword and can have negative consequences. At least in the US, we went from being a beautiful melting pot of cultures, to now everyone is walking on eggshells for fear of being accused of racism and/or “cultural appropriation”. As a hispanic person I have never once had an issue with cheesy stereotypical mexican costumes for halloween, but now nobody can even sell those things anymore without fear of backlash. Hell, one of my favorite games on my PSP was “Chile Con Carnage”, and many people nowadays would consider that racist as hell.

Lately I’ve been more annoyed at all the white guilt anti-racists and their forcing of viewpoints than I have been at the actual racists themselves. You are more than welcome to speak up against racism, but we are also more than welcome to tell people to grow thicker skins, and do something about it if they’re not happy. Just like in this case, either move servers, or team up with everyone else and chase them off the server. If you leave and the trolls have nobody to harass, they’ll leave. If you chase them off the server, then, sweet, you got rid of their stupid ■■■■■. XD

Well just can you tell the racistc and sexisic things in the face in real Life or you only do it when you thing you are safe and hidden behind the WWW/online?

Robert E. Howard turn is his grave by now!
If I Chose to consume a specific kind of entertainment does not mean I cant speak up if I think something bad happens around me.

And words do form opinions if heard often enough, a lie can become a truth if repeated often enough.
So if u do not agree with racist, speak up.

If you get anoyed cus someone is speaking up, ask yourself why you can willingly ignore racism, sexism but need to shout down all that speak aginst racism, sexism.
No.

You have CHOSEN to support a product that has a story about the things you are getting pissed about and then acting as if you are offended by the same thing you just supported with money.

That is called being a hypocrite.

It would be like going to see a 50 shades of grey movie and then crying outrage if a person there is talking about ■■■ and bondage…

If you dont like racism and slavery, you should not be playing a game that has it. Period. End of story. Telling people that they should not be saying things that fit in the game is just plain crazy…this is a ROLE PLAYING GAME and you are placing yourself IN THE GAME WORLD. To act as if this stuff is offensive is actually out of place in this game.

This right here a million times. Cant’ you people worry about something real instead of something someone types?

A word of advice for you PC nuts, stay away from Blazing Saddles. Very far away for your own sanity.

On a totally off topic note, I saw Blazing Saddles in 1975 in the theater, bought the VHS tape in the 90s and eventually got the dvd. Those dudes singing “A kick out of cocaine” was hilarious. And sheriff Bart riding into town to assume his job was sheriff was a hoot!

Mel Brooks=God.

And tell me, how is this happening around you? You’re looking at a computer monitor reading text from someone that you will never meet and wasn’t walking to you in the first place.

I hate people that try to control what other people do and say. I despise you guys.

It’s not because they choose the path of least resistance, it’s because they don’t worry about what someone says on the internet. That’s where I have an issue, not what they say, but the attempt to stop them from saying it.
