New Year, still nothing into filth

Greetings hunters and secret wordlers.
Have being spying around the SWL discord but atill nothing new from the veterans which are the first ones analysing the game and receiving mystique visions of upcoming stuff necause of their knowledge on games/funcom.
Was awckard for me not seeing any news from devs not even about new content but streams or dev letter, I will even want a “false” roadmap to stay safer on promising new progression for the next years. At least ”new zone for 2020”, they didn’t show themselves at a letter or video talking about the second year of the release and but ia going on behind their laptops. What do you think? They are planning to release a new version with lots of old stuff, QoL improvements, fusang and old cosmetics…or theywill habe to sell the gameto a ig studio with a good script team?
See you bees in the battlefield…

You want a false roadmap? Not sure what that’d achieve, as it’d just make people angry that the roadmap wasn’t being followed. Even the old roadmap made people irrate and they were actually trying to keep to that schedule.

Tbh any time the devs give us information about something coming up, it gets dissected and the more time we have, the more irked people seem to get that we have to wait for it.

QoL stuff may happen, I personally doubt we’ll get any of our remaining old stuff from tsw
If the choice is to make content which is new to everyone or only the percentage who didn’t play tsw, then it makes sense to focus on showing off shineys to the biggest audience. For example, I’d love to have elite versions of Facility, but I doubt being able to run it again would bring back any of my friends who’ve left the game.

If they’ve held onto Anarchy Online for almost 18 years now, I’d be amazed if they’d even consider selling the secret world IP to another studio.

Top-Secret 2019 SWL Roadmap:

I can’t be the only one thinking that probably just means the next equinox will bring a group version of the Stonehenge queue. Kinda hard to get particularly excited for that, given there’s other story-relevant group content still conspicuously absent from SWL.

Someone remind me please when the last stream dedicated to SWL happened, was it really March 9th 2018 ?

I’m certain they did one during Halloween and quite possibly one during Christmas though I’m not positive

I thought they’d showcased Dark Agartha in a stream, but I can’t see it on Youtube or Twitch.

There was a great halloween scavenger hunt stream with the CM guys too. Where teams hunted for rotting pumpkins across the zones.

There was also a stream where Andy ran Stonehenge with random players. But SWL never got the same exposure as Funcom’s other projects.

Yeah, the game seems more dead now than it did when it was TSW.
And wave-based content in a little sandbox isn’t going to make that any better.
Story. We need story.

I wish they’d just bite the bullet and make The Secret World franchise into a single player RPG. Episodic even if they had to, to get financing. But the current state of the game is just making me sad.

Unfortunately the “immersion” and “story” takes 6months to develop and offers a day of gameplay for most players.

Changing the game into a single player rpg wouldn’t change that fact. Infact it would probably make it worse.

The last developer’s stream was, indeed, to showcase Dark Agartha, as evidence by Rovena’s written summary:

There definitly was one stream for the pumpkin hunt. I am not the best trackkeeper about things but I know that one since I was doing stuff for it.
And with the valentine contest we get another one. Always happy to have nicolle on board with that since she technically isn’t cm for swl (that’s andy exclusively, correct me if wrong) and all the other people helping on it. <3

Pretty sure there is tons of new story content with the Agents, and people are paying money for those, so i guess it must be that immersive. Of course, with the acceptance of that - Funcom will always make more Agents with rich, repeatable - story content. They already made some of those “Faction related missions”

They’ve probably already been to the Congo and other destinations.
They probably will be the only ones going to The Congo…
This is what they think a “Shared world, story driven RPG” looks like…
Even their dreams birth monsters…

Group scenarios is our new “content”? Excuse me if I don’t jump for joy.

Or is it just OD even? That’s more in-line with what I expect of FC. Half effort. :frowning:

Speaking of, what are the chances the dev stream is 99% goofing off in the game and 1% talking about the VDay contest? That’s all dev streams are anymore, when they even happen. It makes me sad thinking about the god old days.

A goupish/raidish scanario with possibility of getting one pink dist per week?

I can’t say that I’m surprised that Funcom remains tight-lipped about content development when every little thing they do say is met with such negativity.

Hmmmm the first thing that we can said that is this game in not dead with bimonthly update.
As say @Drenneth, a story content take some times to be developed. Remember this sentence of Nirvelle, from JeuxOnline’s Interview in june :

We do want to continue the main storyline. Making a new zone for the storyline is an enormous task, and one that would stall releases for an excessive amount of time. We want to commit to a faster and more frequent release schedule: One that tells aspects of the story through mission packs, events, expands on existing features like scenarios and dungeons, and adds new features.

So as expected as this time, it’s this type of content that is released since august. Story content is a big part of this game but remembered that actually, there isn’t a good balanced in terme of quantity of end-game content. Some old things need to be ported.

There is a big part of old content to port and I think that is the best way to do it NOW during the next zone’s building. If Congo is a big zone as Kaidan, we will have it during 2020. Menawhile we will have the end of New Dawn and port of some old contents and maybe new features.

And about new features, a little extract form BTV tour of SA :

So, be patient and we will be reward

Yeah it was awful how you were required to have unlocked so many agents to play the content in South Africa, and the new scenarios, and dark Agartha, and the faction missions.

Or wait was none of that true?
